Izuku's back slammed into the wall, knocking the wind out of him. Bakugo grabbed him by the neck, not even giving him a moment to catch his breath. "How did you pass that exam? You cheated, didn't you?" His grip on Izuku's neck tightened. "I was supposed to be the only one from this run-down shitshow of a school to get into UA High! Me! But of course you screwed that up, just like everything else! I told you not to apply!"
"Kacchan." Izuku calmly grabbed Bakugo's hand. "Someone I admire told me that I had what it takes to become a hero. That's the reason I applied, and I'm going. And you can't stop me!"
Bakugo stared daggers at Izuku from across the room. 'That little bastard… I'm gonna figure out how the hell he got in and then I'm gonna ruin his life.'
"Oh wow this is so exciting! I wonder what our classmates will be like! I wonder what our teachers will be like too! Ooh, I'm so excited!" Ochaco was shaking an already very red Izuku back and forth.
"If you're just here to make some friends, I'd suggest packing your things and leaving." Aizawa appeared on the floor behind her in a sleeping bag. She slowly turned her head, confused. "Welcome to the hero course." The man stood up, unzipping the sleeping bag. "You all took 8 seconds to silence yourselves. Next time, do it faster. If you were smarter you'd have known to."
The whole class was stunned, only able to stare agasp. 'Who is he? He must be a pro if he's here, but he doesn't exactly look qualified. He just looks tired.'
"I'm Shota Aizawa, I'll be your teacher." He pulled a UA uniform out from his sleeping bag. "Now grab some of these and let's go outside."
The group now stood outside in a cluster. "A quirk assessment test?" Ochaco piped up. "But what about orientation? Won't we miss it?"
"Don't be ridiculous, there's no time to waste on ceremonies in this career path. Besides, this school isn't strict on formula. That is to say, I can do whatever the hell I want with my class."
The group looked at each other nervously, a few murmuring but most silent.
"You've had standardised testing for years, but this is the first time you get to use your quirks for a physical exam. Most people try to say that everyone has equal chances of making it as a hero, sometimes they even hold back those strongest to do so, but that's just not true. Now then, Katsuki Bakugo, you scored highest on the physical assessment. What was your best softball throw in standardised testing?"
"67 meters, why?"
"Try it with your quirk this time." Aizawa threw Bakugo a softball. Bakugo stretched for a minute before moving to the throwing area. He pulled back his arm before launching the ball forward and propelling it with a series of massive explosions. The ball flew through the air, barely visible until it hit the ground 705 meters away.
"You all need to assess your quirks to know your potential as a pro. This is your final test of 8. Whoever scores the lowest will be expelled." The group gasped in horror, some of them attempting to chime out in protest, but Aizawa continued as if nothing had happened. "The first test is a sprint. If you think this is too much, you can leave now. Got it?"
