'This wasn't good'

Edward stared at the still Renamon siting at the end of the path. He knew what she was supposed to be doing, shadowing a ten year old digimon card champion staying by her side till the two through trial and tribulation changed from a master and servant dynamic to a sisterly friendship. Yet here she was sitting on some dead end path in Shinjuku Park uncaring of the storm around her.

'She looks empty'

The only reason Edward was here in the first place is the favor he owed to Yanamura for getting him this job. His fellow park officer having shown up at the end of Edward's shift calling in a favor so he could have a date night with Uyemura at some cheap karoke place. Unfortunately he hadn't mentioned the terrible storm that was hitting Shinjuku tonight. But he couldn't find the strength to lament it as he stared at the soaked Renamon.

The howling wind that threatened to rip his blue umbrella right out of his hand tore into her stealing what precious heat she had left and as Edward got closer to her he could see it more clearly. She was shivering. His coat was off his shoulders in a moment and around hers in a moment, she sat up her ethereal blue eyes snapping open as she stared at him in open hostility. Only for it to turned into bafflement as he started to claw at the dirt between her feet.

A minute of cold grueling work ensued as he ignored the Digimon staring at him before finding the hole deep enough as he planted the Umbrella like a sapling and backed off to observe his work. A befuddled Renamon sat under a umbrella as a long rain coat swallowed her form. He raised a muck covered hand to his chin as he stared at the fox before a figurative light blub appeared. He took his metal tube of hot coffee and placed it near her feet.

"Stay safe" he smiled at her before taking his leave.

He winded back up the path away from the fox and the terrible implications her presence here had.

"Achoo!"
