Makoto took a sip of her wine as she sat across from Madison at the bar. It was the next day, and she had returned to Bar Seven to meet with him again. She couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement as she waited for him to speak.

"So, Makoto, what brings you here again?" Madison asked, sipping his beer.

"I wanted to talk more about our conversation yesterday," Makoto replied, swirling her wine glass.

"Ah, yes," Madison said, nodding. "What did you want to know?"

"Well, I was wondering if you ever feel lonely," Makoto asked, feeling a bit embarrassed.

Madison chuckled wistfully. "Of course I do. Don't you?"

Makoto nodded, feeling relieved. "I feel like I'm always trying to be the best at everything, and it can be a bit isolating sometimes."

"I can imagine," Madison said, taking another sip of his beer. "But you know, sometimes it's

good to take a step back and just enjoy life. You don't always have to be the best at everything."

Makoto smiled. "You're right. Maybe I should try to enjoy life a bit more." She paused. "Maybe you should do."

Madison just looked at Makoto with his piercing gray eyes. Makoto willed herself not to blush. Madison really was attractive past his unkempt scruffiness… and Makoto hadn't had a one-on-one conversation with an attractive man at what could be considered a date spot in a very long time.

No, Makoto told herself, I have a job to do as a Phantom Thief, my personal concerns are not what is important here.

Still, with that in mind, she pulled out a notepad and pen from her purse and wrote her phone number down. "I don't mean to be forward," Makoto said, "But if you ever need anything, or just need to talk, feel free to reach out. It's always good to have friends."

Madison looked a little surprised as he regarded the slip of paper, and slipped it into his pocket. He didn't meet Makoto's eyes as he mumbled a thank you.

Makoto finished the last sip of wine from her glass and stood up from the bar. "Thank you for the conversation, Madison. I should probably get going now."

"Of course," Madison said. "It was great seeing you again, Makoto."

As Makoto passed by Madison to leave the bar, she stopped, leaned down beside his ear, and said, "You're not alone. You can let me in. I will change your heart and make you admit to yourself that isolation isn't the way to live." With that, she walked out of the bar, feeling Madison's gaze bore into her back as she did.

Makoto entered the three keywords of "Madison Brooks", "Mountain", and "Bar Seven" into the Meta-Nav and was suddenly transported back to Madison's palace. As soon as she arrived, her outfit changed once again to her Phantom Thief attire. The familiar rush of power and adrenaline filled her body, as she began to navigate the Palace once more.

Makoto carefully made her way through the Palace, using her knowledge of the layout from her previous infiltration to move quickly and efficiently. She avoided any Shadows along the way, knowing that she needed to conserve her strength for the upcoming battle with Madison's Shadow.

As she approached the cabin, Makoto could feel her heart racing with anticipation. She knew that Madison's Shadow would be waiting for her, but she was determined to steal his distorted desire and make his treasure manifest.

Taking a deep breath, hoping that her interaction with Madison had been a verbal calling card powerful enough to unlock the door and make Madison's treasure manifest. Makoto pushed open the door to the cabin and stepped inside. Madison's Shadow appeared before her, its eyes filled with anger and malice.

"You again," the Shadow growled. "I thought I got rid of you yesterday."

Makoto stood tall, ready for whatever the Shadow could throw at her. She knew that defeating it wouldn't be easy, but she was determined to see it through to the end.

"Your distorted desires end here," Makoto declared, summoning her Persona.

Makoto braced herself, ready for battle. She knew that Shadow Madison would not go down easily. As expected, he launched dark magic-like projectiles at her, which she deftly dodged.

"You're going to have to do better than that," Makoto taunted. "I won't let you stand in the way of the truth."

Shadow Madison growled in response and charged at Makoto, swinging his weapon at her. She ducked under the attack and retaliated with a swift kick. The two clashed in a fierce battle, their weapons ringing out as they struck each other.

Makoto was struggling to keep up with Shadow Madison's attacks when she had an idea. She summoned Johanna and had her charge at Shadow Madison, distracting him while Makoto landed a powerful blow.

The plan worked, and Shadow Madison stumbled backward. Makoto took advantage of the momentary pause and rushed forward, dodging Shadow Madison's desperate attempts to strike her. She landed another powerful blow, and Shadow Madison fell back, then crashed down face-first.

Madison pulled himself to his hands and knees, then pressed himself up until he was kneeling on one knee only. He looked up at Makoto. His eyes were the piercing gray color Makoto had liked, instead of the demonic yellow from before, and they were no longer filled with rage.

"I don't have to be angry at myself anymore," Madison said, wonder in his voice.

"No, you don't." Makoto's voice was pure in the frigid mountain air.

"I can help people again," Madison said, "I'm not dangerous."

The ground began to shake, like an earthquake was ripping through it far away. Makoto knew her signal, and strode into Madison's cabin. She grabbed Madison's treasure, which was floating above a simple wooden table.

"I hope I will see you again," Makoto said to Madison. He was staring at his hands and muttering to himself as Makoto began a brisk jog down the mountain.

As Makoto inspected the medical diagnosis textbook in her hands, she couldn't help but feel interested by its appearance as the treasure she obtained from Madison's Palace. As she flipped through the pages, she wondered why Madison's distorted desire manifested in the form of a textbook, and what it could mean about his true self.

However, as she read through the pages, the answer started to dawn on her. Madison was a former doctor who had forsaken his medical license due to his feelings of failure- and maybe of dangerousness. The medical diagnosis textbook was a reminder of his passion and his knowledge, but also his downfall.

Makoto couldn't help but feel a twinge of sympathy for Madison as she closed the book. She knew how it felt to be driven by a sense of duty and responsibility, to pursue a career path that was expected of her. She also knew the pain of failure.

Makoto smiled to herself as she got ready for bed. She was pleased with how she had successfully used her skills as a Phantom Thief to help Madison, and felt confident that things would be better for him now.

As she brushed her teeth, she reflected on the similarities between Madison's perceived loneliness and her own experiences. However, instead of feeling sad or weighed down by these thoughts, Makoto felt a sense of peace and contentment. She knew that she had made a difference in Madison's life, and that was enough to make her happy.
