As promised here's the next part!

Chapter Two

When Sam finally made it home he went straight upstairs to his room, avoiding his parents who he knew were waiting to talk to him about the same thing they had been talking about his lifestyle choices and when he was going to finally put his degree to work. He'd graduated top of his class earning him an internship with Marvel, but when he met his ex things kinda went crazy but in a good way. She was explosive, exciting and extremely sexy, to Sam she could do no wrong but his parents and friends saw that she wasn't leading him anywhere but down the dark road he was currently on.

He couldn't get what Mercedes had said to him out of his mind…

"Hell, even I can tell, your clothes cost more than my dress and I paid a pretty penny for it, your shoes alone cost the equivalent of my rent… let me guess, molly? That looks like your choice of drug, probably uses it to maintain some bullshit friendship instead of using your own mind."

She was right and that bugged him most, he was trying to maintain a memory of his freedom. His family wanted him to have it all together but he just didn't, more like he didn't want to assume proper responsibility for his life.

When Sam walked in and turned the light on in his room he was met by a sight of his parents sitting on his bed with hardened expressions.

"Mom.. dad, what's up?" He asked, trying to sound casual.

"We aren't going to beat around the bush, you have fifteen days to get yourself together before we take back your inheritance and lock it away in an account that you can't access until you're married." His father said, his voice booming slightly.

"What! That's not enough time! What do you expect me to do?"

"You still have that internship you never accepted and you have enough money to find you a decent place to live because you can no longer live here, your siblings have gone on and achieved their goals and are starting to settle down… why you insist on living some fairy tale, we'll never understand but we've had enough Samuel!" His mother Mary said letting out a labored breath.

"You're kicking me out too?" Sam asked not believing this was happening to him.

"Yes you have fifteen days and that's it!" Dwight said to his son standing up and walking out with his mother close behind, she shot him a sympathetic look before closing the door behind her leaving him standing there in shock.

He ran his hand through his hair and threw himself on to his bed trying to remember if knew where that damn letter was so he could call. He let out a deep sigh and dug into his pocket for his drugs but when he didn't feel them he checked his hoodie before getting angry realizing Mercedes took them from him.

"Oh fuck that!" He said aloud, putting his shoes back on still digging around hoping he could find them but he knew she swiped them and he was going back to get what was his.

Mercedes jolted up when she heard the banging at her door trying to figure out who the hell would be banging like that. She scrambled looking for the shirt she'd taken off cursing herself for sleeping naked but she only got so many days to be free so allowed herself to sleep comfortably.

Once she got her shirt on she grabbed her bat and went to the door looking through the peephole noticing it was the same blonde from earlier that night shaking her head angrily because she told him not to come back and he still did.

"What the hell are you doing back here!" She said as she swung the door open pointing the bat at him.

"You took what was mine, shortcake." He said amused moving the bat away from him when he noticed the confused look on her face.

"What?" She asked.

"My stuff you took it out of my jacket and I came to get it." Sam replied, moving past her inviting himself inside.

"No I didn't, why the hell would I keep that shit?" She asked, looking at him like he's crazy.

"Bullshit, when I got home it wasn't there and I checked my car. This is the last place I was when I did have it so where is it?"

"You have about five seconds to get the fuck out of my house before those drugs are the last of your problems." She said gripping her bat harder and he chuckled slightly shaking his head.

"I played baseball for ten years and have been hit enough by them to handle any blow you make. My stuff now, please." He replied and she just nodded, dropping the bat and walking over to her ottoman opening it, smirking when she turned and looked at him.

"Warning shot or self defense, you choose." She said pointing her gun at him.

"Look, I just want my stuff and I'll leave." Sam said backing up.

"And I want you the fuck out of my house! What in the hell would I need with drugs? Sam, I have a child whose father is crazy and will do just about anything to get him from me. I have random checks from child services and tonight is the only night in weeks I've had to myself to go out and have fun. I don't have your drugs!" She said before there was a knock on her door and she hung her head sighing.

"Open the damn door!" They heard and he noticed her flinch slightly.

"Hey are you-" He stopped talking when she shot him a sharp look breathing out heavily.

"Jason, go away." She said loud enough for whoever was behind the door to hear.

"Open the fucking door bitch." Mercedes ran her hand over her face biting her lip nervously.

"I can leave." Sam said, taking a step closer before stopping when she looked at him before shaking her head.

"I told you not to come back and you did… you couldn't even do that!" She said through gritted teeth. There was another bang on the door and she said shit under her breath before putting her gun back in its place, throwing the pillows off of her couch looking for his stuff hoping like hell it wasn't there at all.

"MERCEDES!" They heard with a loud bang.

"Fuck! It's not here, are you sure it didn't fall out in your car?" She asked, walking over to the door taking a deep breath before opening it.

"What took so long?" A tall burly man asked, looking at her with dark eyes.

"I was busy."

"My son better not be around one of your johns." The man said and she let out a loud humorless laugh.

"Don't talk so poorly about yourself Jason. As for MY child he is fine at his grandmother's and you storming over here like a bat out of hell isn't going to change that."

"I was never a john and you know it." Jason replied, his voice filled with anger.

"And I've never been a hoe so now we know where we stand, what do you want and why are you here?"

"Who is he?" Jason asked, looking past her at Sam.

"None of your damn business now what the hell do you want?" She asked, rolling her eyes before noticing him looking at her intensely. She watched as his eyes slowly roved over her body then back up again before biting his lip and smirking.

"We could pick up where we left off, you know?"

"Before or after I gave birth?"

"After we had a lot of fun before you went off and got that fancy job then started acting all stuck up."

"Oh you mean after I was in labor alone, came home to an empty home and you showed up like you were God's gift to mankind? Or how about after I asked you to watch our child so I could get some rest and you left after he fell asleep to fuck… Candice right? Let's not forget when you got all holier than thou and started to terrorize the hell out of me when I broke things off, having CPS come check my home twice in the same week. There is nothing I want from you and you need to come to terms with it. The only good thing to come out of that relationship is Jack." She replied.

"You wouldn't have him without me." Jason said, his eyes growing dark.

"Goodnight." She said going to close her door but he stopped her by grabbing it.

"I don't want another man around my son."

"The only other man that has been around him is Shane and we're no longer together. Now goodnight." She said pushing on the door.

"That goes for white boy too, if I even feel like he's around Jack it's over for you." Jason said, moving his hand smirking. "Don't forget I know your little secret and it's because I'm so nice I haven't told anyone but keep trying me and I will." He added before leaving.

Mercedes stood there for a moment before closing the door and shaking her head slowly sliding down the door."Why the fuck did you come back?" She asked with her hands in her head and Sam felt terribly unable to move from his spot.

"I-"

"I told you not come back and you did over some fucking drugs! I would be less mad if you came over here to fuck me but no… you came back for fucking drugs. You don't even know what you've done, you entitled little brat, do me and you a favor and stop using before you end up on the side of the street somewhere." She said getting up and walking over to him and shoving him.

"Hey, I'm really sorry… I just thought you took it and my parents are on my case about me getting out and doing-"

"Your problems aren't universal! Your still live at your parents and they probably still give you money for lunch, I've been working since I was sixteen years old and had to dig myself out of a dark place but I did it and I am so close to getting out of this fucking neighborhood. You… just leave." She said letting the tears fall down finally because she already knew tomorrow was going to be hell especially with Jason being the way that he is.

"I'm really sorry." Sam said again and she just looked at him with pained eyes.

"Save your sorry and get the hell out of my house." She replied with such coldness that it scared him slightly. Sam just nodded and walked out before stopping and turning around catching the door before it closed.

"I can make it so he never does it again, I know people and I don't mean that in a mob way I mean that in a way that my mother's a retired social worker and has a lot of connections. I can help you…" He said and saw a glimmer of hope flash in her eyes before she shook her head no.

"I would believe you but you drove what an hour out of your way for drugs." She said before closing and locking the door. Sam sighed because he didn't blame her for not believing him but he would show her he was serious.

Yep Sam just causing problems for Mercedes already! until next time xoxo!
