2 years BBB, Somewhere near a cliff in Patch, Vale
'I miss you Mom, wish you could see how far me and Yang went', she thought to herself, but also to the grave in front of her. "Thus Kindly I Scatter", she mumbles before turning and walking away from the cliff. On her stroll through the forest, she pulls out her scroll to see what the weather will be for the next few hours and notices a small snowstorm will roll through. By the time she puts the scroll away, she somehow walks into a clearing. She then heard a noise from the edge of the clearing, then she heard howling follow after. As soon as the howling started, it stopped and a Beowulf walked out into the clearing. The Grimm started to bolt towards the girl, as it neared her a loud bang could be heard and the Grimm turned to dust. More came from the woods into the clearing. But as soon as the Grimm stepped into the clearing they all turned to dust. Then two balls of light shot through the air to the girl, and she continued walking away.
The girl walks up to a cabin, opens the door and walks in. She yells "I'm home!"
"Dinner is in the Kitchen Ruby," a man yelled back.
"Thanks Dad," Ruby yelled back. She shakes off whatever snow accumulated on her. As she walked into the Kitchen, she received a message on her scroll. Then started to walk into her room to not only eat but read the message she got. She ate quickly and put the plate to the side. She taps her scroll and takes a look at the message she got.

~Head to the dockyards of Patch and secure the target~
~Afterwards head to rendezvous point to hand over target~

'Another one of these missions,' she sighed, "it can't be helped". So she got ready to go out, she checked her gear in the mirror. Wearing a White corset, with a red blouse underneath it, her combat skirt was white with a red under skirt, her combat boots are white with red knee-high socks. While she normally doesn't like the bright colors, it works well in the winter. She double checked her weapon holsters, seeing that they are good to go she takes one last look at herself in the mirror. Her hair being mostly black with red highlights and a single streak of white running down her bangs, her eyes are mostly silver with an undertone of red intermixed, then she wiggled her wolf ears to keep them a bit more warm for the weather. Before heading out of her window to go to the mission area, she grabbed two magazines of tranq ammunition, and put on a grey cloak. She opened her window, stepped out to the balcony and then closed the window, she then used her semblance to fly to the dockyard.
30 minutes later, Patch Dockyards
Ruby's Perspective
'Ok Ram and Rom I need you to run the patrol on the perimeter, Glacier you're gonna run secondary recon on the other side of the dockyard, and Crescent you're going to be with me, everyone got their orders and understands them', i said using my telepathic link to my weapons.
'Yes we do, sis', they replied back. After replying three balls of light flew off my holsters and became corporeal, Ram and Rom are the twins dressed in blue shorts and vests with grey undershirts, holding similar colored daggers. Glacier is dressed in a tactical black-camo uniform with a flaming rose on his shoulder; he holds a semi auto pistol with a similar design. Then I transformed Crescent from her folded form to her sniper form and got into position.
'Ok Glacier we are looking for a White Fang member, they are a mouse faunas and are quite sensitive to noises, so be extra careful', I told him, 'but there will be a small unit of White Fang with her so be wary of them as we have no info on them at all'.
'Yes, yes, I know; how long till they come through the area', he asked.
'They should be here any minute now', I replied. And as predicted a car drove up to the dockyard and five people got out of the car, one of them being the target. 'Ok Ram and Rom I need you to pick off the other four people and knock 'em out, Glacier I need you to keep an eye out for any other people, we need to stop them before they try to go the boat', I told them.
'Ok sis', Ram and Rom replied. And as they said that two of the White Fang members disappeared quite quickly before the others knew what happened. Not a few seconds later the last two members went missing from the unit leaving the target in the open.
'Glacier, am I good to shoot', I asked.
'Yes, i see no other reinforcements coming', he replied. After that I took the shot and the target went down and fell into a sleepy daze.
'Alright let's get to the rendezvous point before any more trouble comes our way', I said and Glacier picked up the target, Ram and Rom went back to their holsters and I transformed Crescent to her folded position. 'The rendezvous point is not that far from here, we should be there shortly', I told everyone.
Rendezvous Point, Somewhere in Patch
"Good job Red, for someone that doesn't kill people, you have the efficiency of a killer," a voice said as Ruby got to the area.
"Roman", she seethed, "I thought Nevrmorr was going to be here for the pick up, not you".
"Oh there was a change of plans and he got redirected to somewhere else", he replied.
"You're nothing but trouble, Roman", Glacier interjected.
"Ooh the talking weapon has something to say," Roman rebuttal. Glacier just growled back. "Hehe little unhappy are you", he replied to the growl, "hand over the target and all should be good".
"Why should we listen to a criminal like you?" Glacier growled back.
"Glacier just do as he says, the faster we get this done the faster we can go home", Ruby told him.
"Oh Red, you do know how to pull the strings of my heart, but that's not necessary", Roman said, "there's going to be a show tonight, and that target is the center piece, so hand the mouse over and we shall begin". Glacier reluctantly gives the mouse faunas to Roman. "Good now let's begin", he said as he threw an Ice Dust shard at the feet of Ruby and Glacier, he then shot it before they could react, freezing them to the spot. Most of the weapons holstered on Ruby also got frozen to her. "Now that none of you can move or come out of hiding, I can explain some things", he said replying to Ruby's and Glacier's facial expressions. "I've been told from my higher ups that I need to set some events in motion and that includes you watching what I'm about to do", he said as he brought the end of his cane to the temple of the unconscious mouse, flipped the end open and pulled the trigger, killing the poor girl outright. Ruby's eyes widened at the scene in front of her. He then pulled a burn shard out, tossed it near Ruby and shot it creating a smokey explosion. "It was fun to see you Red, next time let's have some more fun", Roman said from beyond the tree line.
"Fuck, what are going to do, how are we going to explain this to Nevrmorr", Glacier exclaimed.
"We don't have to explain everything, just that we got ambushed and the target got taken away from us when we weren't looking, and that we will retire from the company" Ruby deadpanned, "let's go home and debrief the boss".
30 minutes later, Ruby's Home
"How did you let the target get taken by Roman Torchwick, let alone get ambushed", the man on the scroll said.
"Well it happened, shit happens when you're not paying attention", Ruby replied, " mistakes were made tonight and I think it's about time I retire and work towards finishing Signal and getting into Beacon".
A sigh could be heard over the call, "fine I'll write you a letter of recommendation, but the agency is going to really miss your skills and team, but I bet you'll become a great huntress" he said.
"Thank you Roon, I'll come back after rethinking what I need to do to get better", Ruby said.
"Then I think that Beacon would help you on that, if that's all we can end the call", he said.
"Yep that's all", she replied.
"Alright, Nevrmorr out", he said, ending the call. After he hung up, Ruby put the scroll down and looked outside, thinking of what the future could hold.
