"There they are!" Past Sakura cried.
"So they were here after all..." Kakashi said.
So this was how her father lost his left arm, Sarada thought.
Past Sakura immediately started healing them.
Past Sasuke said, "Sakura, I..."
"Shut up," Past Sakura said. "I'm concentrating."
"I am sorry."
"Sorry, for what?"
"For everything up till now."
Tears dropped from past Sakura's eyes.
"It's the past..." Sakura said. "So for the last three days, you have been living in the past? Watching our past?"
Sarada nodded.
"Ah, how embarrassing," Sakura said with a blush on her face. "I am such a pathetic shinobi back in the past. A silly airhead, obsessed with love and all in all a failed shinobi. Always depending others to save me." A wistful smile on her face.
"No, Mama! You have nothing to be ashamed of! You are the best!" Sarada cried as she hugged Sakura. "Unlike a certain someone." Sarada shot daggers at Sasuke.
"Well... don't be so mean to your Papa," Sakura said with a tiny teasing smile. "He simply took a slightly different path than us. But our paths crossed again. So everything is good."
"Mama, you're being too lenient to Papa!" Sarada pointed at the father in front of her. Sasuke was not looking at any of them, he was not even looking at the past unfolding in front of him. He was making a point to not look at anything.
"You're right, Sarada. You are being too lenient, Sakura," Sasuke said. "And you have nothing to be ashamed of. It's me."
"Don't be so hard on yourself, Sasuke-kun. As I said," she clapped her hand, "everything turned out as it should! So can we go back now?"
"Wait!" Chocho who had been silent up till now cried. "We haven't finished the whole romance story. So now Sarada's Papa apoplogized but what's next? How did you two get together?"
"Oh right!" Sarada agreed. "We have gone through so much, we can't possibly not get to see the ending of it right?"
"Umm... Sasuke-kun..." Sakura's face blushed. "Do something."
"I can't..." Sasuke avoided Sakura's gaze. "We ran out of chakra."
"But what's coming up next is..." Sakura's blush intensified.
"Yeah, I know." Unbeknownst to anyone at the site, Sasuke's ears grew slightly redder than usual.
Sakura covered her face with her palms.
