Blu and company in Triple Trouble & Nigel's Revenge

Blu and company are forced to leave for Rio early due to facing serious problems from a certain clan of glaucous macaws who DESPISE humans. However, while there, they face another HUGE problem: the return of their old foes bent on revenge, especially Nigel, and they kidnap their kids to use as bait. Blu and co must rescue their kids and confront their enemies once and for all.

Chapter 14- explosions of outrage

The mixed-species tribe's home area

In the most animal species-diverse area of the sanctuary where colourful feathered, furred and scaly forms decorated the trees and the space between them, among them species that should have gone extinct like the archaeobirds and the pterosaurs, said creatures continued their activities. In one area, a group of three female macaws, two glaucous and a hyacinth, was talking. Around them, macaws of various species with the odd bat, archaeobird, pterosaur and non-macaw birds, flew past.

The three female macaws were Sapphire, one of Tristan's sisters and Phoebe, the sister of Levi and Quincy, and another friend of them and their group including Carla, Bia and Tiago, a female hyacinth macaw and a cousin of Victor named Teresa.

Teresa was older than Victor and also Phoebe and Sapphire and was a teen hyacinth, so she was much larger than the two glaucous macaws and like Victor who wore a fruit shell cap, Teresa wore a hat but hers was made of interwoven coconut fibres and was not part of the shell of a fruit for Teresa did not like wearing fruit shells as a hat.

"During one lesson Mr Rodrigo gave us about the history of the glaucous macaw clan before they split with some of them joining our mixed-species tribe," the teen hyacinth macaw told the two smaller glaucous, "The glaucous macaws that live in our tribe's clan used to DESPISE humans and ANY animal that had ANY association with them just like Mr Rudi and the others, didn't you know? They even used the anti-human associated animal term 'mud-pet' until they eventually stopped using that term when they joined us after a change of perspective on humans."

"Did Mr Rodrigo want to seek help from this massive mixed-animal tribe despite Mr Rudi's objections when the glaucous macaw flock was a nomadic group without a home before the most recent fire?" asked Phoebe.

"He did," said Teresa, "But unfortunately, he had been too afraid to. So were the other glaucous macaws who also wanted to seek help. You see, Mr Rudi didn't want to cause any bother for other bird flocks and wanted to find a home for his flock alone."

"But our now-clan has but has unfortunately split into two over opinions about humans," said Sapphire.

"Mr Rudi and the other glaucous macaws with him did not want to live in a tribe where us 'mud-pets' lived while Mr Rodrigo and the other glaucous macaws with him decided to live here, having learned to accept that quite a number of macaws and other animals have had ties with humans and that not all humans are destructive, uncaring menaces to the environment," added Phoebe. Teresa nodded.

"Yes, and I don't think you were aware of this but there are several dozen new members of my hyacinth macaw clan who had been raised by humans in captivity before being released to here to help with the hyacinth macaw population," said she, "Our hyacinth macaw clan leaders, Dante and Salvadora, had helped to induct the newcomers into the clan and are teaching them the ways of the wild."

"It's great that new..." Phoebe began when suddenly, shouting in the distance sounded, interrupting the conversation. The two glaucous macaws and the hyacinth stopped and froze. The shouting became louder and soon, the three realised that there was not one individual shouting, but two. However, based on the shouting and how it was exchanged between the two individuals, especially since the voices were a male and a female, Teresa gazed at the two glaucous macaws.

"That doesn't sound good," she said, "Sounds like someone is having a heated argument."

Phoebe and Sapphire listened harder and tried to identify the owners of the voices. When a hint of recognition flashed within the pair like a shooting star through the dark sky, the two glaucous macaws, dreading the owner of the female voice, opened their wings and flapped off in the direction of the shouters. Teresa followed immediately.

"Phoebe, Sapphire!" she called to the pair. However, she had to slow down for she was much bigger than the two teen glaucous macaws and so could fly faster. The three landed on another branch nearer to the shouters and began to listen hard, hoping that their suspicions on the identity of the female voice aren't true. Teresa landed on another branch heftily and joined in the listening on the two voices now that they were louder. Then horror ripped through Phoebe and she gazed at her cousin and the hyacinth macaw.

"That's DEFINITELY Trixie," she whispered in a voice of dread, "And the male voice is her boyfriend Volo."

Perplex flashed within the other two.

"Then why are they arguing?" asked Sapphire.

"Volo is an understanding glaucous macaw," added Teresa, "Especially about why Trixie is smaller than the average glaucous macaw her age."

The three returned to listening to the shouters as they continued to argue. Those two shouters were definitely Volo and Trixie but the argument between them was fiery. And soon, the pair was close to Phoebe, Sapphire and Teresa's location for their words to be decipherable by the trio.

"HOW could you DO THIS TO ME!?" Trixie's squeaky voice exploded through the branches, "HOW COULD you JUST GO OFF WITH ANOTHER FEMALE MACAW and then LAUGH AT ME WITH THAT BRAT!?"

That made the dread within the three boil even more.

"Oh, no..." said Phoebe in a low voice.

"Don't tell me Volo has..." began Sapphire but then she froze as the verbal fight between Volo and Trixie escalated steeply. The three then peered out from behind some leaves and saw the two glaucous macaws as they continued to exchange punches in the form of words. One of them was an unusually small glaucous macaw and the other a usual-sized. He had turquoise plumage and darker blue wings and his head, neck and tail underside were grey. His build was fairly burly and he had a handsome look. His eyes were a shade of brown and his head crest was a short sheet of head feathers starting from the crown and ending at the neck. The brown eyes of this male macaw and the cerulean eyes of the abnormally small sea-green female were blazing their respective coloured flames. Then what exploded from the make macaw, Volo's beak to the small female, Trixie, sent a MASSIVE shockwave of ASTONISHMENT and OUTRAGE ripping through the trio.

"You're a RUNT, did ya KNOW THAT!?" Volo screeched right into Trixie's face, "You're a USELESS little BABY MACAW who CRIES an' TALKS LIKE ONE. IS IT ANY WONDER NO MALE MACAW would EVER wanna DATE YA!?"

A MASSIVE eruption of feeling-lacerated sobs exploded from Trixie's beak and the little macaw flapped off, unknowingly heading for her sister, cousin and their hyacinth macaw friend. While Sapphire and Phoebe prepared to catch Trixie to stop her from crashing into them, Teresa glared VOLCANICALLY at Volo.

"Yeah, you go an' CRY ya EYES OUT LIKE the LIL' BABY you ARE, RUNT!" screeched Volo nastily, "AT LEAST my NEW GIRLFRIEND isn't an UNDERSIZED HATCHING like YOU!"

That did it. The hyacinth macaw's navy blue wings shot out and the hat-wearing hyacinth macaw took off after Volo while Trixie crashed into Phoebe and Sapphire. She gazed up at her sister and cousin, her eyes flooded with tears from her SEVERELY lacerated feelings from those words and she began to sob hard into Sapphire's chest. Teresa charged at Volo, a volcanically OUTRAGED look on her face. Volo, however, just whirled round and rocketed off into the trees.

"GET BACK 'ERE you HORRIBLE VENOM TONGUED..." screeched Teresa but by the time she reached where Volo had been, the male turquoise and blue macaw had disappeared into the canopy in a blink of an eye. A frustrated screech exploding from her beak and not wanting to waste energy in chasing down the glaucous macaw even though he could not fly as fast as Teresa but was EXTREMELY agile, the hyacinth teen whirled round and returned to the glaucous macaws, the smaller one sobbing in her sister's wings. As Teresa perched nearby, the shock at what spewed from Volo's beak at Trixie still gripping her, Phoebe looked on in disbelief.

"I-I-I don't believe it," she said, "Volo is SUPPOSED to be a NICE AND UNDERSTANDING MACAW!"

"Nice and understanding cousin!?" Sapphire snapped as she held the sobbing and heartbroken Trixie in her wings, "Did THAT sound NICE AND UNDERSTANDING to YOU!?"

Phoebe felt her tongue stick in her beak for she could not find a suitable set of words to reply to this. Then Teresa gazed at Trixie, an ENRAGED look on her face.

"My uncle also has the small size abnormality," she growled, "He is an adult, but he is only about the size of an adult Spix or glaucous macaw, your species, when the usual height of our species when fully grown is twice that size. However, when he hatched, he appeared pretty much normal size but as he grew, his size abnormality began to show and he had slowed increasing in size by around my age..." she then gazed at the sobbing Trixie in Sapphire's wings in UTMOST disgust, "WHAT THAT GLAUCOUS MACAW IDIOT SAID to her was EXTREMELY INSENSITIVE!"

As she said this, Trixie gained enough composure to speak, just barely. "I-I-I was re-re-returning to here when I-I-I f-f-found h-h-him with that oth-oth-oth..." this broken thread of words was interrupted by another sobbing fit. Sapphire, Phoebe and Teresa exchanged looks.

"Other female macaw?" asked the latter, the hyacinth macaw.

"YES!" Trixie blurted out tearfully, "H-h-he was s-s-sat with that m-m-m-macaw on THAT branch, h-h-hugging and k-k-kissing her an-an-and when they saw m-m-me, they-they-they... la-la-la..." she then entered another sobbing fit, weeping into Sapphire's chest feathers. The three exchanged looks again, one conclusion already been drawn. They had already heard it straight from Trixie's little beak during her fight with Volo and before his insulting of her size.

"What did the macaw look like?" asked Phoebe. Trixie continued sobbing until finally, she spoke again, tearfully.

"She was... had azure... blue feathers... golden eyes... and long grey and azure ponytail..." she struggled to describe the macaw she saw kissing Volo and then subsequently laughed at her with her boyfriend who had revealed himself to be a cheater. That sent dread ripping through Teresa, Phoebe and Sapphire, especially the former. She had met and got into an altercation with that glaucous macaw a short time ago and she knew what that macaw looked like.

"Oh, no," the teen hyacinth groaned with dread, her navy blue wings burying her face, "Not that..."

"She's one of Mr Rudi and Tremaine's daughters, isn't she?" asked Phoebe. Teresa's head bobbed up and down in a 'yes' response. Then Sapphire gazed at the sobbing Trixie.

"Save the explanation for later," she said, "We have to get my sister back home. She could do with the comfort of Mom and Dad (Samara and Sirius)."

"What are Volo's parents gonna think when they hear that he had been insulting Trixie like that for one, and dating a forbidden macaw for another?" asked Phoebe.

"Let's just get back to our home grove," said Teresa and with that, the four opened their wings and lofted into flight, Sapphire gently guiding a severely-upset Trixie as she struggled to fly with her lacerated heart.

The Spix tribe's ravine

The Spix macaw tribe and their visitors were up to their activities in the former's living space, the heart of their territory. The trees and cliff faces were decorated with the blue forms interspersed with patches of a variety of other colours including red from the visiting red macaws from the red tribe and other colours from the animals of the mixed-species tribe, including the drabber colours of the visiting flying foxes. On a rock outcrop protruding into the lake, two flying foxes, a scarlet macaw and her blue-and-gold mate were talking. Orion, Ahsoka, Ruby and Ferdinand were discussing something while at the same time, they watched with amused smiles at their pups and chicks, Hermione, Ganymede and Gordie, and Opal and Sheldon as they surfed on the lilypads in the ravine pool with Roberto, Brisa, Finnick and Lavendulan. Ganymede and Gordie flew with Roberto and then landed on the lilypads and surfed on them with Roberto on one and the twin bats and Orion and Ahsoka's youngest sons on another, laughing heartily on the go. Nearby, Finnick swerved on his lilypad and kicked up a wave that washed literally over the twins on their lilypad, soaking their fur wet to the two's chagrin.

"Sorry, Double-Gs," Roberto and Brisa's son called as he surfaced away. Roberto and Brisa nearby chuckled as did Hermione, Lavendulan, Opal and Sheldon and also Orion, Ahsoka, Ruby and Ferdinand before the latter four resumed their conversation and the surfers continued.

Sheldon had recovered from the hurt form the scathing remarks said to him by Aguamarina and when he had returned to the Spix tribe's ravine with Esmeralda, Victor, Orquidea and her brother Brock, Spyro, Sandalwood and Connie after their observation and Sheldon's sketching of a pupa and they had told their parents including Jewel, Eduardo and Ruby about what that spiteful and banished Spix macaw had said to them including what she had called Sheldon ('son of Rottin' Ruby'). When they, especially Ruby and Jewel, heard this, they had been UTTERLY outraged. It was a SERIOUS offense to reference the Spix/Red Macaw Tribe War in an inappropriate manner, especially the insults exchanged between the two macaw tribes when they LOATHED each other's guts, so Eduardo had sent two macaws to Myrtle and Aguamarina's home tree to severely tell them off or they will face serious consequences. This done, Sheldon moved on while Esmeralda, Victor, Brock, Orquidea and Spyro returned to their tribe and Sandalwood and Connie went to join Carla, Tiago, Chrysocolla and Arrokoth. However, another group was yet to arrive and they had even more horrific news.

"We're gonna HAVE to do something about your broken relationship with Rafael's massive family, Orion and Ahsoka sooner or later," said Ruby, "Especially before it gets any worse. It's been going on for pretty much a year now."

Orion and Ahsoka gazed at the floor sadly as Ferdinand gazed at his scarlet mate. "That's gonna be easier said than done though, Ruby," said he, "Their chicks have done so much damage with their stupidity..."

"Involving causing Mauro and his marmoset gang trouble and then framing Sandalwood, Acerola and Hermione such that THEY end up being literally tossed into a pile of rotting fruit and a snapshot taken of them, copied and spread through the forest," said Ruby angrily, "and to add salt to the wound, their lying to their parents such that they believed them and NOT their misbehaving chicks? Obviously and without a doubt."

Sighs escaped from the two bats in agreement to this.

"And Eva had the audacity to brand us as BAD parents," added Ahsoka, "But we know ABSOLUTE well that our older son and two daughters would NEVER bother Mauro and his gang like that."

As she spoke, Brisa flew in and touched down, an amused look on her face. "Your two new sons are HONESTLY so identical appearance, we're having trouble distinguishing them. In fact, Roberto has nicknamed them the 'Double-G's."

Orion and Ahsoka gazed with small smiles at their two sons as they hovered in the air above the ravine pool with Finnick, Lavendulan, Hermione, Opal and Sheldon, preparing for another swoop-and-surf on the lilypads as Roberto left his to make way for them.

"I think they should wear some sort of attire to distinguish them," added Brisa with a titter.

"I was thinking about that, actually," said Orion before he resumed the less-amusing conversation about Rafael and his family. Brisa's amusement then faded.

"How are we doing with coming up with solutions to fix the broken relationship between Orion and Rafael's families?" she asked.

"Not well," said Ruby.

"We've suggested a meeting and a talk with the toucans when we go to Rio but I doubt Rafael and Eva won't like that," said Ferdinand, "After all, they firmly believe that Sandalwood and his sisters were the ones who caused that marmoset thief gang the trouble and that they deserved the humiliating result."

"And they won't even discipline their chicks efficiently at all," put in Ruby. Brisa crossed her wings and her face.

"Huh, either Rafael is just TOO proud and loves his chicks TOO much to bestow serious discipline measures on them," she grumbled, "Or it's his chicks and they are the ones being manipulative to escape trouble."

"Or both," said Orion.

"Or don't think those parents discipline them at all, to be honest," put in Ahsoka, "In fact the only time I remember him and Eva disciplining them at ALL, if EVER was after they attacked us before we, except Brisa, paired up and had our first chicks and pup," the ginger bat then shrugged, "but if that is the case, then I don't believe Rafael and Eva REALLY love their kids that much at all."

"I agree," said Orion, "If Sandalwood, Hermione and Acerola were EVER that naughty and did things most of that interspecies toucan couple's twenty-plus offspring did, we certainly, CERTAINLY would," he then turned his gaze at Ganymede and Gordie as they surfed on another lilypad together alongside Hermione who surfed on another lilypad, "And our two recent additions to our family over there may be mischievous like Tiago and Matilda but even THEY know that it is malicious to land others into trouble and frame them."

"As well as lying to your parents," added Ahsoka angrily, "That tactic Rafael and Eva's naughty chicks are such experts at doing."

"And our daughter and son Sheldon and Opal also know that the behaviour that those toucan kids exhibit is INCREDIBLY naughty," said Ferdinand, "However, that wasn't the case for Carla, Bia and Tiago when they had been young chicks and they actually hung out with that group. Blu told us that he and Jewel had severely grounded those three for a good month after they participated in the STUPID act of attacking you guys and tying you up in those vines when you were chained up and I went to get help."

"AND before we paired up and had our two kids and when I was still Jewel's caustic arch-nemesis to add," put in Ruby, "They tangled us up in those vines and our chains."

"Yes, and I'm SO glad that those three have learnt their lesson well," said Orion with a frown, "How did Blu and Jewel discipline them?"

"They confiscated Carla's favourite music Ipod, Bia's science books and Tiago's joke book, their favourite things for that month after we had dealt with the second band of smugglers and their dogs," said Ferdinand. Then Brisa felt revulsion at those horrific memories of those chains course through her.

"Ugh, don't mention those stupid chains," Zephyr's sister grunted, "Honestly, the TROUBLE those silvery things caused thanks to those WRETCHED poachers. Zephyr, Aurora and I were all chained together as a three and believe me, getting around was a SERIOUS struggle compared to the rest of you who were chained in pairs."

"Ahsoka and I suffered just as bad when she here didn't fly back then," said Orion to which Ahsoka nodded in agreement.

"JUST like what Jewel had to face when Blu didn't fly like me when they were chained together," said she. Then Ruby resumed the main issue.

"So, back to your relationship with Rafael's family then," the scarlet macaw said, "How are we gonna fix it? We're gonna have to somehow. Remember how I and Jewel eventually made up and became friends despite us declaring and even vowing to NEVER forgive each other when we had been caustic enemies like almost every other Spix and red macaw."

"Like I've said before, it will be easier said than done," said Ferdinand.

"Especially with Eva after she believed her lying chicks regarding our first three children's ordeal with Mauro and his thieving marmoset gang," muttered Ahsoka sourly, "And I wouldn't be surprised if those lying chicks have been spewing lies about other incidences they had caused other inhabitants of the forest and blamed others for them."

"But mark our words, the consequences are mounting for that big family of toucans," said Orion seriously, "Sooner or later, something has GOT to give. It's a shame that Rafael and Eva just don't see that."

The others nodded in agreement. Just then Maximillian came by.

"Ruby, Ferdinand, Orion, Ahsoka, you need to be prepared to return to your tribes with your young and friends soon," he said sternly, "There's a massive stormcloud approaching and soon, the heavens will be opening with a MASSIVE downpour. Our weather watchers have just seen the giant black cloud growling with thunder looming over the horizon and it is heading this way. You must be back with your tribes by the time that storm arrives."

"Alright, thank you, Max," said Ferdinand and with that, Maximillian left to deliver the weather warning to more visitors not of the Spix macaw tribe. Ruby then prepared to call for Opal and Sheldon while Orion prepared to gather their five children.

"Well, I think we'll do just that now," said the female scarlet macaw, "Might as well get it done in good advance of the storm arriving rather than AT its arrival."

"Same here," agreed Orion. However, he was about to shout for Ganymede, Gordie and Hermione to come to him and Ahsoka when suddenly, a MASSIVE voice exploded from the entrance of the ravine. That voice echoed throughout the enclosed home of the Spix tribe and seized the attention of everyone within it including Maximillian as he delivered the weather warning to three visiting purple-and-pink macaws, and those three macaws too and they turned their gazes to the ravine entrance. Then four comets, two blue and two chocolate brown, black and white, shot towards Ruby, startled squeaks and chirps emitting from their beaks and mouths, and ploughed into her, sending the scarlet macaw flying back from the rock and onto a flat surface. Orion, Ahsoka, Brisa and also Roberto rushed over to her as she sharply rebuked the four comets, Finnick, Lavendulan, Ganymede and Gordie for their behaviour while Ferdinand flew to meet Hermione, Opal and Sheldon who were also startled by the extremely loud voice. The adult flying foxes and Spix macaws pulled their children from Ruby and apologised to her for their rocketing towards her. Finnick and Lavendulan's distinctive head crests were flared out and their eyes were inflated from the shock as they quivered in Brisa's wings. Ganymede and Gordie were crying "Mom, Dad!" frightfully as they quivered in their parents' wings. Ruby then shot the group a HORRIFIED look, having identified the voice of the shouter.

"THAT was JEWEL and she sounds EXTREMELY FURIOUS!" the scarlet macaw blurted out and with that, she scrabbled to her front and flapped into flight. Ferdinand came in with Sheldon, Opal and Hermione and immediately followed the scarlet macaw. The Spix macaws took off also while the flying foxes rushed to a nearby large rock, scrabbled up it and dropped into flight for they could not take off from the ground.

Within moments, a convergence of a mostly-blue wave of feathers interspersed with feathers, fur and pycnofibres of other colours closed in on the ravine entrance. Among them, Ruby, Ferdinand, Orion, Ahsoka, Brisa and Roberto flew along, wondering what an EARTH had caused Jewel to bellow like that. With them, Ganymede, Gordie, Hermione, Finnick, Lavendulan, Opal and Sheldon flew along, worried looks on their faces. Somewhere else in the convergence, Carla, Tiago, Arrokoth, Chrysocolla and the older brother of Hermione and the identical twin brothers, Sandalwood and his date Connie, also rushed for the entrance. Also among the crowd were Aurora, Zephyr, Justin and Matilda. Looks of dread plastered the faces of Carla's group.

"I hope the reason for Mrs Jewel's scream is NOT what I THINK IT IS..." cried Sandalwood as he flew ahead of four of Blu and Jewel's chicks with Connie. Then the moment the young flying fox couple arrived at the entrance, they drew in HORRIFIED gasps. Carla, Tiago, Chrysocolla and Arrokoth arrived seconds later and their reaction was the same but more severe.

"Oh, no, BIA, NEPTUNE!" cried the oldest chick of Blu and Jewel and with that, she propelled herself from nought to top speed in a split second. Tiago, Chrysocolla and Arrokoth followed with Sandalwood and Connie not too far behind. Approaching the ravine entrance with the swarm of Spix macaws and visitors congregating around only to be stopped and blocked by inner circle macaws and more Spix macaws at Eduardo's command to avoid them swamping the two shaken young macaws, a group of macaws and a flying fox flew in. That group was Charlotte, Virgil, Eustace, Azul, Turquesa, Tristan, Levi, Neytiri, Wilbur and Acerola and they helped Bia and Neptune to the ravine. Bia was covered in a few claw marks, especially on the face and wings and it was a wonder that she was still able to fly. Neptune, however, was marked by a single scratch on his left shoulder but it was still painful and the chick found it difficult to fly properly. The moment the group arrived at the Spix tribe's ravine, Wilbur met his mother Cersei while Tristan, Levi and Neytiri met their parents and family, the latter being Rodrigo and Ceu. Jewel and Blu gazed in UTMOST HORROR and in Jewel's case, PURE and VOLCANIC OUTRAGE at the state of Bia and the scratch on Neptune's shoulder, Carla, Tiago, Chrysocolla and Arrokoth appearing to examine their brother and sister closer. Roberto, Ruby and Orion's group also appeared and when they saw the state of Bia and Neptune, they winced and drew in HORRIFIED gasps. However, they were walled off from approaching the two badly-shaken young Spix macaws as they were taken into the ravine and as Virgil began to explain everything to Blu and Jewel by some Spix macaws who told them to stay back. Acerola flew to the group but as she did, she was greeted by the FURIOUS looks of two older adult flying foxes.

"What happened!?" demanded Orion.

"HOW did Bia and Neptune end up SCRATCHED LIKE THAT!?" added Ahsoka. Roberto, Brisa, Ruby and Ferdinand also glared at the brown flying fox while Hermione, Gordie, Ganymede, Finnick, Lavendulan, Opal and Sheldon backed away and continued to gaze at Bia and Neptune in horror,

Acerola immediately and unflinchingly launched into an explanation.

"Katrina from Rudi's banished clan was strangling Bia to death," Virgil angrily explained at the same time and in the same words as Acerola as she explained to her angry parents and also to the four macaws confronting her, "And Neptune told us that she had attacked Bia and clawed him over the shoulder..."

Nearby, Rodrigo and Ceu who were close enough to pick up these words FLINCHED with pure OUTRAGE. So did Sirius, Bellatrix, their respective mates Samara and Antares and the family with them, their parents Alvin and Isabella and younger siblings Pietro and Wanda and their mates Wikstrom and Carolina, the latter two who told their chicks Jose, Linguini, Remy and Emilia to stay back, the four curious and concerned chicks trying to approach Bia. Virgil continued his explanation to an EXTREMELY outraged Blu, Jewel, Mimi and Eduardo while Carla, Tiago, Chrysocolla and Arrokoth helped to take Neptune and Bia (who still had her fanny pack containing her drawing pad and pencils which, surprisingly, wasn't shredded by Katrina during her relentless attack on her) to the infirmary tree of Nuvem, the cousin of Zephyr and Brisa and his mate Cassia for treatment for their claw marks.

"I gave Katrina a SERIOUS beating and clawing," the fourth chick of Zephyr and Virgil explained as his parents came in with Justin and Matilda, "and I also TORE out her tail feathers..."

"You did WHAT, son!?" Aurora yelled when she heard this. Rodrigo and Ceu then shot a disbelieving look at Neytiri, Tristan and Levi.

"It's true, Mother and Father," the former said.

"Katrina was trying to kill Bia," added Tristan.

"If Virgil hadn't intervened," put in Levi, "Bia could've..."

"TO our TREE, Virgil... NOW!" Aurora angrily barked at Virgil who sourly obeyed. Levi flashed Virgil a look and continued to explain to a pair of severely disbelieving leaders of the mixed-species tribe's glaucous macaw clan. Then Rodrigo came forward to meet an INCREDIBLY incensed Jewel, Eduardo and Mimi. Blu had left after his daughter and son to Nuvem and Cassia's infirmary tree.

"I-I-I don't understand," the patriarch of the mixed-species tribe's glaucous macaw clan spoke, still in clear disbelief at what had happened and what he was hearing, "I-I thought we told Rudi and Tremaine to keep their glaucous macaws and other members within the boundaries of the land we had given them as per the permanent truce, unless the glaucous macaws from their clan change their ways with clear evidence and confirmation and join us."

"And any non-glaucous macaw who is banished for SERIOUS, irredeemable crimes and/or their refusal to change their attitudes, or any association with Rudi and his clan aren't supposed to be roaming our territories either," put in Ceu, "such as some of the rebellious hyacinth macaws who had befriended Rudi's clan and also Myrtle and her daughter Aguamarina."

"Exactly," said a nearby hyacinth macaw, "Our leaders Dante and Salvadora had banished them for their association with that troublesome glaucous macaw clan."

Then Jewel began to tremble with EXTREME rage.

"I'm gonna SEIZE THAT MUD-PET WORD USIN' GLAUCOUS MACAW by the NECK and STRANGLE HIM until his NECK..." she bellowed but Eduardo rebuked her to calm down. Jewel reluctantly did so and began to seethe in EXTREME anger at what Rudi's daughter had done to one of her daughters and sons. Then she decided to check on Bia and Neptune so she opened her wings and took off in the direction of Nuvem and Cassia's infirmary tree. After all, her daughter and son's wellbeing was more important than giving Rudi a piece of her mind.

At the infirmary, Bia was being checked over by Cassia while Nuvem prepared some medical paste made from medicinal herbs and ground, and leaves to treat the macaw's wounds. A medical assistant had put a leaf smothered with this paste onto Neptune's left shoulder, the little macaw wincing as the leaf touched the scratch. Blu stood by, comforting his son while Jewel helped to keep Bia calm as Nuvem got the medical paste and leaves ready to treat her wounds. Nearby, Carla, Tiago, Chrysocolla and Arrokoth looked on, disbelief plastering their faces with the former cupping her beak in horror.

"Remember how Alexandre from the silver pterosaur clan suffered horrific injuries at the claws of that barbaric daughter of Rudi and Tremaine, sissies and bro?" Tiago told the other three, "He's not been able to leave his hollow for such a while as he's still healing of his wounds and his wing."

"It's a wonder Bia and Neptune hadn't suffered any broken wings themselves," whispered Carla. Suddenly, a scarlet macaw appeared at the entrance of the infirmary tree and gazed at Bia and Neptune in UTMOST horror top the slight startle of the four.

"Good grief," whispered Ruby in shock at Bia's claw marks. Then a handsome Spix macaw with a silvery voice like a shimmering, pristine lake appeared, saying 'excuse me' to Ruby to allow him past.

"Bia, Neptune, are you both alright?" Roberto asked the two shaken and clawed macaws, "We heard what had happened from Virgil and Acerola and the others with them."

Ruby continued to look on worriedly until another Spix macaw, this time one resembling Zephyr in appearance came by and ushered the scarlet macaw out of the infirmary gently.

"Leave my nephew and niece-in-law and their team to treat Bia and Neptune, Ruby," Viento said, "And get yourself and your family back to Felipe's tribe. The storm is very close now."

Ruby reluctantly did so and flashed one last concerned look at Bia and Neptune as they underwent treatment for their claw marks. As she left Nuvem and Cassia's infirmary tree, Orion came in with his family which included all five children now including Sandalwood and Acerola. Connie had left to join her parents, Shade and his mate. A look of thunder plastered the faces of the son of Augustus and Melissa and his mate.

"I just cannot BELIEVE that Rudi's daughter would do such a HORRIFIC thing to one of Eduardo's GRANDDAUGHTERS and GRANDSONS," growled Orion in outrage.

"Especially attempting to strangle the former," put in Ahsoka, "I just cannot..." she trailed off, too infuriated to even come up with a finishing word for this sentence. Sandalwood looked on, equally angry as did Acerola (who had witnessed Katrina hold Bia and her death-chokehold) and Hermione, while Ganymede and Gordie were wary of their parents' anger while at the same time frightened at what had just happened to Bia and Neptune. Then Orion turned to Ruby.

"Eduardo is planning on sending some macaws over to Rudi and his clan to tell them SERIOUSLY to call off their macaws' intrusions into our territories and callusing trouble AND to get his and Tremaine's kids sorted out or else," he growled, "Especially for the sake of Rodrigo's clan for his glaucous macaw intrusions are landing them in trouble and causing our patrol groups confusion."

"One of your tribe's patrol groups actually attacked a visiting family of glaucous macaws thinking they were from Rudi's clan only to realise that they were from Rodrigo's clan and NOT Rudi's," said Ahsoka. A worried look formed on Ruby's face.

"That is not gonna be good for the glaucous macaws living with us," the scarlet macaw whispered, "Not to mention Sirius and his large family. After all, my tribe has had quite frequent intrusions from the glaucous macaws of Rudi's clan, so it's unsurprising that that poor glaucous macaw family from Rodrigo's clan was mistaken for a gang from the other, banished clan and attacked."

"Dad (Augustus) has STRONGLY advised that the glaucous macaws of Rodrigo's clan planning on visiting the territories of the Spix and red macaw tribes be accompanied by some non-glaucous macaw members like some flying foxes or bat-birds or other birds for example since that incident," said Orion, "to show that those glaucous macaws are NOT from Rudi's clan."

Ruby then turned her gaze to Nuvem and Cassia's tree once again, a FURIOUS scowl forming on her face. "But what Katrina almost did to Bia, THAT is COMPLETELY crossing the line by MILES. Her attack on Alexandre and crippling him for ages was bad enough as it is but THIS!? THAT is COMPLETELY OFF the branch."

Orion and Ahsoka and also Sandalwood, Hermione and Acerola nodded in agreement while Ganymede and Gordie looked on.

"And ONE of the DAUGHTERS of the Spix macaw tribe leader's DAUGHTER as well," put in the third one angrily. Then Ruby made a decision after she saw Jewel talk with Eduardo with Samara and Antares outside the infirmary tree and overheard what she said, the two glaucous macaws nodding in agreement to this.

"I'm gonna go into Rudi's clan's territory with those three and confront that leader too," the scarlet macaw said angrily, "After all, Bia is like one of my nieces and attempted murder is NOT tolerated. After all, my tribe was largely responsible for the literal war with the Spix macaws after what happened to an inner circle macaw and his two sons before the fire."

Then before Orion could protest against this, Ruby flapped off to Eduardo, Jewel, Antares and Samara to tell them of her decision to accompany the latter three. Ahsoka looked on.

"I would like to go and confront Rudi too," she said.

"Get that idea RIGHT out of your head, Ahsoka," Orion snapped, "You know what Rudi is like with animals that have been raised by humans. The last thing I want is you getting hurt, especially by his violent kids. Let's just return to our mixed-species tribe's territory before the storm arrives."

Ahsoka immediately threw that idea out of her head and abandoned it. After this, the family of seven flying foxes departed for their home, saying goodbye to Eduardo and company as they left and wishing that Bia and Neptune were going to be alright.

"You are a VERY NAUGHTY BOY for ATTACKING Katrina like that and tearing out her tail feathers, Virgil," Aurora shouted at Virgil back at her family's tree. Outside the hollow entrance/exit, Justin, Charlotte, Matilda and Eustace stood, gazing at the defiant Virgil as he folded his wings and pouted. Aurora continued, disgusted at her son's defiance. "SERIOUSLY, son, THAT THOUGHTLESS act could WELL have landed ALL OF us in a DIFFICULT SITUATION with that anti-human-associated-animal family, INCLUDIN' YOURSELF!"

"THAT macaw was STRANGLING BIA to DEATH, MOM!" retorted Virgil angrily but Aurora refused to take that as an excuse.

"NOT acceptable," she snapped, "You should NEVER have BEATEN UP that GLAUCOUS MACAW LIKE YOU DID. NOW GO to your ROOM, NOW while I THINK OF A PENALTY to BESTOW UPON YOU as PUNISHMENT!"

A frustrated and exasperated grunt exploded from Virgil's beak and he stormed off to said compartment. Zephyr came in as Aurora looked on. She turned to look at her mate, a scowl on her face about Virgil's actions.

"I cannot BELIEVE that our son would DO such a STUPID thing to one of Rudi and Tremaine's daughters, Zephyr," she growled, "He has REALLY landed us in a DIFFICULT position with that troublesome glaucous family."

"I don't think you realise the direness of the situation Bia was in, Aurora," Zephyr replied, "That Katrina macaw is a violent bird."

Aurora shot her mate a disbelieving look. "Are you SAYING that Virgil is JUSTIFIED in attacking Katrina like he did!?"

"Aurora, Bia did NOT stand a chance against that violent daughter of Rudi and Tremaine," Zephyr replied in a harsher tone of voice, "If that glaucous macaw had poor Bia in a death-grip and was deliberately strangling her to death, then Virgil did RIGHT in rescuing her by charging into Katrina and knocking her away from Bia. He saved her life, didn't you know?"

Aurora just walked off to her and Zephyr's nest, clearly frustrated at her mate's apparent lack of understanding of Virgil's attack on Katrina though she was grateful that he had saved Bia's life.

"Just because that glaucous macaw had Bia in a death chokehold doesn't mean that Virgil should go ALL out in attacking her to the point of ripping out her tail," she replied angrily, "I'm gonna bestow a GOOD punishment upon him for going too far with what he did."

Zephyr breathed a sigh and turned to call in the other four chicks. Like every other member of Blu and Jewel's extended family, Zephyr had been UTTERLY horrified and infuriated that Katrina would do such a thing to Bia, as was Aurora and while he did believe and agree that Virgil did go too over the top with dealing with Katrina, he was grateful that Virgil had been brave enough to intervene the savage glaucous macaw's murder attempt of the poor Spix macaw. It was a VERY serious crime to attempt to murder someone else and it was punishable by exile or worse. However, dealing with this fiasco will have to wait due to the storm approaching. Sighing, Zephyr exited the tree. As he prepared to leave his and his family's hollow to round up Justin, Charlotte, Eustace and Matilda, Ferdinand and Ruby came by with Opal and Sheldon, the latter who carried his supplies in his leaf bag built like a fanny pack complete with its own strap to go around the body for carrying.

"How are Bia and Neptune, Ferdinand?" Zephyr asked the blue-and-gold macaw.

"VERY badly shaken from the whole ordeal, especially Bia," replied Ferdinand, "And Blu and Jewel are ABSOLUTELY FURIOUS at Rudi's family for that act."

"In fact, Blu is EXTREMELY upset and angry while Jewel has just gone outside the ravine to a clear space to vent, and I do mean VENT!" Ruby added. The group heard the sounds of FURIOUS Spix macaw screeches booming from outside the ravine wall, making them pause briefly before Ruby continued. "I have decided to accompany Jewel, Antares and Samara to Rudi and his family's tree in their territory to have a SERIOUS word with them."

"I initially objected but then I relented," said Ferdinand, before an ENRAGED scowl formed on his face, "Honestly, what Katrina almost did to Bia was... um... I honestly cannot think of any word that fits but what that young glaucous macaw had done is... unforgivable," he then gazed down at his hybrid son and daughter who had inherited half of his species' DNA, the blue-and-gold macaw, "If Katrina had EVER attempted what she did on Bia on either of THESE two, I would PRACTICALLY explode and I would probably NEVER forgive that family, perhaps for the rest of my life. This is HONESTLY worse than what the toucan kids had done to Sandalwood, Hermione and Acerola last year with Mauro and the marmosets."

"Yes, NO-ONE, not even a TEEN MACAW, attempts SUCH an unfathomable thing to my caustic nemesis-turned-friend's chicks," out in Ruby with a snarl, before she exhaled, "I'm so glad I stayed away from Carla, Bia and Tiago when they were chicks otherwise Jewel would NO DOUBT have KILLED me, literally."

Zephyr nodded in agreement. "You started to dissolve your rancour towards us when you helped Jewel to get her chicks to safety when those smugglers' dogs confronted us to catch us."

Ruby smiled and nodded to this in agreement. Then Ferdinand gazed at Opal and Sheldon who were too upset at what had happened to Bia and Neptune to speak. Even Aguamarina's insulting of Sheldon and his mother and the latter's former enmity with Jewel was nothing compared to the WRETCHED thing Katrina had almost done to Bia but still, Ruby was FURIOUS with that macaw and her mother for SUCH insensitivity and brazenness in referencing that vendetta she had against Jewel. It was SUCH a BIG insult. Then Ferdinand spoke.

"Anyway, we'd better return to our tribe," he said, sending his gaze skyward, "The rainstorm will be here any moment and according to the weather watchers, it's not a pretty sight."

"You get yourself off then and we'll meet another time," said Zephyr. Just then, four Spix macaw teens sharing some of his traits appeared and touched down.

"Ah, right on cue, you four," said the father of five gladly and with that, he led Justin, Charlotte (who was especially concerned for Bia and Neptune), Matilda and Eustace into the hollow while Ferdinand led his blended family in the direction of Felipe's tribe. As they flew over the cliff face and saw a certain cerulean macaw throw a VOLCANIC eruption of a fit, Ruby commanded Opal and Sheldon, "Don't go ANYWHERE near Jewel, you two. Keep up here with us."

The Catalina brother and sister obediently did so and after flashing one finals look of concern at the venting Jewel, the four disappeared into the trees in the direction of Ruby's tribe's territory. Confronting Rudi over Katrina's attempt to kill Bia would have to wait until the storm had passed as it will be too dangerous to venture over there in the high winds and rains.
