Chapter 3: "New Beginnings"
Mikasa stepped into the elite squad's headquarters, her heart racing with excitement and anticipation. She had been transferred to the squad of Captain Levi Ackerman, joining a group of highly skilled soldiers who had all undergone cybernetic enhancements. As she looked around the room, she saw familiar faces like Eren Jaeger and Annie Leonhardt, as well as new transfers Jean Kirstein, Connie Springer, and Sasha Braus.
"Hey, Mikasa!" Eren called out, waving her over. "Good to see you again."
Mikasa smiled, feeling a sense of relief at seeing her friend. "It's good to see you too, Eren. How have you been?"
"We've been training hard," Eren replied, his eyes glinting with determination. "We're ready for whatever comes our way."
As Mikasa made her way around the squad's headquarters, she introduced herself to Armin Arlert, Eren's friend and fellow soldier. "I've heard a lot about you, Armin," Mikasa said, extending her hand. "It's good to finally meet you."
Armin smiled, shaking her hand warmly. "Likewise, Mikasa. I think we're going to make a great team."
Soon, Captain Levi called a meeting of the squad. Mikasa listened intently as he gave a speech, urging them to work together and to fight for the future of Eldia.
"We're all here for a reason," Captain Levi said, his voice steady and commanding. "We've all been given a second chance, a chance to fight for our people and our country. But we can't do it alone. We need to work together, to trust each other, and to become the best damn squad this army has ever seen."
Mikasa felt a sense of pride as she listened to his words. This was what she had been training for, what she had sacrificed for. She was ready to give everything she had for the sake of her people.
The squad began training, pushing themselves to their limits and working together to become a cohesive unit. Mikasa was impressed by the skills and determination of her new teammates, and she knew that they would be a formidable force on the battlefield.
During one of the training sessions, Connie and Sasha noticed that Jean had a crush on Mikasa. Jean, never one to back down from a challenge, invited Mikasa to a sparring match.
"You're pretty good, Mikasa," Jean said, panting slightly. "I didn't think you'd be able to take me down so easily."
Mikasa smiled, feeling a sense of satisfaction at her victory. "I told you, Jean. I'm not one to be underestimated."
As Mikasa made her way home after a long day of training, she felt exhausted but exhilarated. She took a hot shower to wash away the sweat and grime of the day, but as she stood under the water, she suddenly felt dizzy and disoriented.
The next thing she knew, she was lying on the floor, her body trembling with fear. Once again, she had the same dark vision of her friends dying and her country falling.
Mikasa woke up, her heart pounding in her chest. She knew that she couldn't let herself be consumed by fear and despair, that she had to keep fighting for her people and for her friends.
"I won't let my fear control me," Mikasa whispered to herself, standing up and drying herself off. "I'll keep fighting, no matter what."
