Chapter 4: "Doubts and Secrets"
Queen Historia Reiss sat in a meeting with the government officials, discussing the development of the war. They spoke of their progress against the Titans and the Empire of Marley, but there was an underlying sense of anxiety in the room. The war was far from over, and there were still many challenges ahead.
As the meeting ended, Historia made her way to her bedroom, feeling drained from the day's events. But as she opened the door, she was surprised to find someone waiting for her.
"Eren, what are you doing here?" Historia asked, surprised to see her secret lover standing before her. Eren was also her secret informant in the army.
"I needed to see you," Eren said, his voice low and urgent. "There's something we need to discuss."
Historia felt a sense of unease as Eren took her in his arms and kissed her deeply. She knew that their relationship was dangerous, that it could ruin everything she had worked for. But she couldn't resist the pull she felt towards Eren, the sense of comfort and security he brought her.
As they lay in bed together, Historia asked Eren about the latest developments in the army.
"Some of the soldiers are starting to harbor doubts," Eren said, his voice laced with concern. "They're not sure if we can win this war."
Historia felt a sense of dread wash over her. Doubts and dissent among their own soldiers could undermine their entire war effort, and she knew that they needed to take action.
"What can we do about it?" she asked, her voice low.
"We need to keep a closer eye on things," Eren replied, his expression grim. "Some of these soldiers may be close to discovering the dark secrets of the war."
Historia felt a chill run down her spine. These "dark secrets, she couldn't allow anyone to discover them.
"We need to make sure that they don't find out," she said, her voice firm. "We can't afford to let them undermine our efforts."
Eren nodded, understanding the gravity of the situation. "I'll keep a closer eye on things," he said. "And I'll make sure that we're doing everything we can to keep the soldiers motivated and united."
Historia nodded, feeling a sense of relief at Eren's words. She knew that he was her most trusted ally, and that together they could face any challenge.
As Eren got up to leave, Historia grabbed his hand, pulling him close. "Promise me that you'll be careful," she said, her voice soft.
Eren nodded, his eyes meeting hers. "I promise," he said, before leaving the room.
Historia lay in bed, her mind racing with thoughts of the war and the doubts among the soldiers. She knew that they needed to be vigilant, to keep the soldiers motivated and united in their fight against the Titans and the Empire of Marley. But she also knew that there were dark secrets lurking beneath the surface, secrets that could destroy everything they had worked for.
