Marcus and Agumon made a unsuccessful attempt to escape from Yoshi. She and Lalamon eventually caught up with the two and escorted them back to DATS HQ. Agumon had restraints put on him by Lalamon.

Clark wasn't present at the moment as he was dealing with a cruise ship in distress off the coast.

"Would you let me go?" Marcus demanded.

"Sir, per your orders I brought Raptor-1 and his accomplice Marcus Damon in." Yoshi told Commander Sampson.

"You know for a fact that Agumon wasn't involved in the destruction of the hamburger stand. Stop treating him like a criminal." Marcus hollered.

"You tell her Marcus." Agumon egged him on.

"That's not what this is about." Yoshi said back as she pushed a angry Marcus away from Commander Sampson.

"What's the issue this time?" Marcus asked her.

"There are other crimes that were committed here. Digimon coming to this world is one of them and interacting with humans is prohibited."

"What's that supposed to mean? You work side by side with Digimon." Marcus reminded her.

"If a police car breaks the speed limit to catch a criminal the police officer isn't a criminal too, is he?" Lalamon stated.

"That's true." Marcus admitted.

"How come you're not backing me up Marcus." Agumon complained.

"Tell him what will happen to Raptor-1, Commander Sampson." Kudamon said while gazing at Marcus.

"All Digimon that break the Real World law will be returned to Digi-Egg form. After that they will be transported back to the Digital World where they belong." Sampson explained.

A white chess piece then walked into the room holding an egg.

"Coordinates are entered and locked." The blonde-haired woman said after a few key strokes.

"Transmission coolers are on." The violet-haired woman commented back.

"Bionic condenser staying by." She stated while checking her monitor.

"Digital harmonizer is aligning. Security code recognized." The woman on the right said as she looked at her computer screen.

"Digi-Gate open." The woman on the left said as a swirling energy came from the top of the tube. "Five seconds to transfer."

"3...2...1." The other woman said as she counted the numbers on her screen.

"Begin transport." Sampson instructed.

"Initiating." The two women replied. In a blinding flash of light, the egg was gone.

"What just happened was the Digimon you helped defeat return to the Digital World." Sampson stated as the turtle walked past Marcus with a steaming tea kettle.

"Now it's time Raptor-1 went back." Kudamon said shocking Marcus.

He then tried to pry the white chess piece off of Agumon before kicking the tea kettle and when it landed - created a smokescreen.

"Time to go Agumon." Marcus told him.

"Right behind you Marcus." Agumon said as he ran alongside him.

Yoshi gave chase. When they left Commander Sampson saw a orange device on the ground.

"That's a Digivice?" Sampson pointed out after picking it up. He and Kudamon hadn't seen that color Digivice before.

"Marcus must have dropped it while escaping, but who gave it to him?" Kudamon questioned.

"That kid. Full of surprises." Sampson said.

He had a idea who gave Marcus his Digivice and felt his old friend had a plan. As for Marcus and Agumon, they were able to ditch Yoshi and hide inside a old warehouse.

"Well nobody stopped us, but now we're stuck here." Marcus said as he opened one of the doors and quickly inspected their surroundings to make sure no one was around.

"Hey how come we don't walk out through the door?" Agumon asked.

"Are you trying to get us caught?" Marcus questioned before shoving the dinosaur away from the door.

"Quiet. There. Perfect." He had placed a cardboard box over Agumon to disguise him.

"Let's go." Marcus pulled Agumon into town without being seen.

Agumon didn't say a word as to not draw attention to them.

Eventually they got to their destination and Marcus took the box off Agumon. They then headed up to Marcus's room and he watched Agumon carefully eat his food.

"This stuff is really good." Agumon said.

"He can only eat special Digimon food, huh? This guy will eat anything." Marcus said as he watched Agumon eat.

"Marcus, are you home?" A female voice asked.

"Agumon, hide in the closet." He instructed.

Agumon didn't understand why, but agreed to hide nonetheless.

A woman who's hair was the same color as Marcus entered the room. She was wearing a white/purple outfit.

"Hi." She told him.

"Hi mom, what's going on?" Marcus asked her confidently.

"You're busted, that's what's going on. Fess up, while you were out there getting into trouble I stayed up all night worried sick. Now where were you?"

"What trouble? I don't even know the meaning of the word." Marcus explained while trying to keep a straight face. Inside the closet, Agumon heard everything that was being said.

"Marcus, you're standing on a candy bar." She informed him causing the latter to look down and raise his foot.

"Now, where did that come from?" Marcus asked as he looked at it.

"Hmm, maybe from the pile of food on the floor." She informed him as she looked at the heap of empty calories in the corner of the room. Agumon started to sweat, but Marcus knew exactly what to say.

"Don't worry, I'll clean it up. Well, time for me to get started. See ya." Marcus said as he gently shoved his mother out of the room and shut the door behind her.

Agumon waited until he didn't hear the other voice to come out.

"That was close." He sighed in relief. "Why exactly did you ask me to hide?"

"If anyone discovers you you'll be taken away and sent back to the Digital World." Marcus reminded Agumon.

"Oh yeah." Agumon remembered he was supposed to stay hidden.

"Listen..." Marcus started to speak before seeing the doorknob moving.

"Marcus." His mother said through the other side of the door. "I heard talking. Is someone else in there with you."

"Outside now." Marcus ordered.

"Right." Agumon hid on the balcony outside Marcus's room.

"I hope you aren't forgetting about the promise we made. We said until your father comes back: the three of us will tell each other everything. No secrets." Mrs. Damon explained.

"Three?" Agumon questioned as he laid on his stomach. Then he saw the third human - a young girl who had just dropped a watering can.

She ran into her brother's room and held on to her mother due to fear.

"What's the matter Kristy?" Mrs. Damon asked since she wanted to know what scared her.

"There's a lizard out there." Kristy explained.

"A what?" Mrs. Damon asked before going out to look for herself.

Marcus tried to stop her, but she was already at the sliding door.

"But there's nothing out here." She told Kristy, seeing nothing out of place except the watering can on the ground.

"I'm telling you I saw it." Kristy shouted back since she hadn't lost her mind.

Agumon struggled to get up to the roof, but once he got there he came face to face with a neighborhood cat.

"UMA." Mrs. Damon said after hearing Kristy's argument that there was really something out there. The acronym didn't make sense to them, so she explained further. "Unidentified Mysterious Animal like Bigfoot or the Loch Ness Monster. Where did I put my video camera?" She questioned the last part, but her attention was shifted to a noise on the roof.

"I bet it's that lizard." Kristy said, making a break for the sliding door.

"Wait Kristy I'll handle it." Marcus volunteered to investigate the noise and pulled himself onto the roof. He saw that Agumon was rolling off the roof and the two fell off it before tumbling to the ground.

"Are you okay?" Kristy asked the two. Mrs. Damon came out, looked down and saw a lizard.

A woman stood in front of them.

"This is Yoshino. The targets have been acquired. Do I proceed with erasing their memories." She questioned Commander Sampson.

Several hours passed and Marcus woke up to find himself in his room.

"Agumon?" Marcus questioned out loud before looking around the room.

Marcus then checked the kitchen and found Agumon there eating with the others.

"I'd like more." Agumon handed his bowl out to Mrs. Damon.

"Absolutely." Mrs. Damon said sweetly before giving him some more food.

Marcus then collapsed out of panic, and then decided to give Agumon a piece of his mind.

"What are you doing?" He angrily asked.

"Eating dinner. What does it look like?"

Marcus then gave Agumon a noogie.

"Hey that hurts." Agumon complained.

"Will you keep it down. The rest of us are trying to enjoy dinner." Yoshi explained to the two. "This is the best corn dog I've ever had."

"Will you excuse us for a minute, mom?" Marcus asked as he led Yoshi to the hall for a private conversation.

"What do you think you're doing here?" Marcus demanded once they were alone.

"It wasn't my idea. I wanted to bring you and Raptor-1 in, but..." Yoshi went into detail about the reason she was there.

"There's been a change in plans. We have decided not to erase the memories of Marcus or the rest of the Damon family." Sampson explained confusing Yoshi. "But stay there and observe. Keep an eye on Raptor-1, understand?" He questioned waiting for a response.

"But commander..." She tried to reason with him, but he ended the call before she could plead her case.

"That was that. The two of us will be seeing each other more frequently since I have to keep a eye on you two." Yoshi informed Marcus.

"No way. You're not hanging around with me." A annoyed Marcus replied.

"I don't like it either, but I'm just following orders." Yoshi explained back.

"Get out." Marcus shouted since she was getting on his last nerve.

"Not gonna happen." She yelled back, getting irate.

Kristy then walked past them.

"You two sound like a old married couple." She said.

Both heard what Kristy said to them.

"What!?" They shouted at the same time.

'So, this is the human world?'

"Where are you going, Marcus?" Agumon asked.

"School." He calmly answered.

"What's that?"

"A place for me to beat lots of people up." Marcus stated.

"Hmm, interesting." Agumon muttered.

"Yeah, it's great." Marcus remarked.

"Hold on a second." Yoshi called out. "If people see a Digimon walking around, it would induce a panic."

"That's true." Marcus recalled his fight with Kokatorimon.

"I don't want to make people panic." Agumon said.

"Fortunately, I have a easy solution to that." Yoshi took out a device Sampson gave her.

"That's my Digivice." Marcus said. "I thought I lost it."

"You dropped it while escaping from DATS." Yoshi explained what had happened.

"Thanks. How do I use this anyway?" Marcus asked.

"Point it at Raptor-1 and press the button on the right." Yoshi instructed while observing Marcus do as he was told. Once he did he watched Agumon get sucked into the Digivice.

"What the!" Agumon exclaimed in shock.

"Agumon!" Marcus shouted in alarm.

"Digivices can change Digimon into data and store them and safety rule number 1 is - keep your Digimon stored." Yoshi informed him of one of the organization's most important rules.

"Marcus, you're going to be late!" Mrs. Damon shouted out from the kitchen.

"See ya." Marcus said goodbye and headed to school.

On the way there he saw a familiar vehicle driving right beside him.

"If you're going to follow me could you at least give me a lift in your car?" Marcus questioned Yoshi.

"Nope and I'll continue doing it until you hand Raptor-1 over." Yoshi replied back.

"There must be something I can do." Marcus offered.

"Well..." Yoshi started to speak. "You could follow Clark's example and join the Digimon Data Squad."

She explained catching Marcus off guard.

"It's really simple - if you join DATS there would no longer be a reason for us to chase after Raptor-1. And the best part is I won't have to babysit you anymore. What do you say?"

Marcus wasn't interested.

"Forget it. I want to lose you, not join you." Marcus said, running off and then stopping when the sign told him too.

Marcus then looked up and saw a commotion.

"What's up? I thought you were in a hurry." Yoshi questioned Marcus after rolling the window down.

"This is my sister's school." He then ran to the source of the commotion. Yoshi then followed him.

"Kristy!" Marcus called out as he got closer to the crowd of people.

"Marcus, over here." Marcus made his way through the kids.

"What happened to the animals?" Marcus asked.

"See that boy over there? When he came to feed the chickens and rabbits this morning they were all gone. Nobody knows where they went." Kristy explained.

"What's weird is this isn't the first time this has happened. An Elementary School the next town over just went through the exactly the same thing."

"I need to talk to you." Yoshi pulled Marcus to the side.

"Where are we going?" Marcus exclaimed.

"A Digimon is behind all this." Yoshi explained while putting her hands on her hips.

"Are you sure?" Marcus asked.

"Yeah, the Digivice is giving off a trace of it's energy signature." Yoshi brought out her Digivice. The screen was in a grid-like pattern that expanded outward. Marcus looked at it in awe.

"I'm impressed." A familiar voice said.

"So am I." Marcus replied, before doing a double take.

"What the...Agumon how did you leave the Digivice?!" Marcus shouted in alarm.

"I wanted to know what you guys were talking about so I freed myself." Yoshi was annoyed.

"You're unbelievable Agumon." Yoshi muttered. "There should be a rule about leaving the Digivice without permission."

"Wait, I bet you were the one who did this?!" She accused Agumon of destroying these pens.

"What are you talking about?" Agumon demanded.

He didn't appreciate Yoshi's accusation.

"That's impossible." Lalamon stated.

"What? Lalamon?" Yoshi held her Digivice up.

"He was inside the Digivice the whole night, so Agumon couldn't have left the room. Another Digimon must be behind it."

"In that case." Agumon commented. "Time for payback."

"Yeah!" Marcus shouted.

Kristy tried to cheer the boy up.

Time skip...

It is now night-time as our group of misfits are back at the animal pen with Marcus putting on a lock on the door with Yoshi standing next to him.

"I hope you know what you're doing Marcus." Agumon mumbled.

Marcus had just finished setting up the lock before responding to his partner. "Relax. When this guy discovers something new in the cages they won't be able to resist returning."

"I sure hope your plan works." Yoshi wasn't convinced this was a good idea.

With nothing else to do, they hid in the area where they had their conversation earlier.

"I'm really not comfortable being locked in this cage." Agumon said to himself.

Clouds covered the light of the moon, obscuring a figure that was heading to the cages.

"Hey, isn't that kid who was supposed to feed the animals?" Yoshi asked.

"Yeah, it's my sister's friend." Marcus added.

"He's noticed Agumon." Lalamon pointed out.

"Hey kid."

"You come to check on the cages or something? Well thanks but you shouldn't be here, now go home." Marcus tried to talk to the boy, but the boy looked back at the cages, ignoring Marcus.

Marcus did not like it one bit. "Hey, did you hear me? Get outta here!" But then something unexpected happened.

"Be quiet!" The boy yelled out.

"You little brat!"

The boy was having a meltdown before crying out. "Why me! I didn't want to take care of those stupid animals! I wished they all just disappeared and then they did!" He then looked back up before saying. "Thanks to him!"

The air shimmered behind the boy before showing a yellow worm like Digimon, screeching out loud.

The Digimon jumped off from the boy, leaving the boy to fall to the ground, showing that the Digimon was controlling him.

"So, you're the one behind all this!" Marcus shouted. "You're gonna pay."

"No. I'll handle the Digimon."

"Lalamon, realize!"

Lalamon went on the offensive first. "Seed Blast!"

Kunemon dodged the attack and used its attack in retaliation. "Electric Thread!" Shooting out an electrified thread from its mandibles and surrounding Lalamon. Kunemon then threw his head down, making the thread follow and smashed Lalamon into the ground.

Marcus was about to join the fight.

"Hold on. Get me out of this cage first."

"Come on what was that stupid combination!" Marcus said out loud as he doesn't remember the code.

"Lalamon, time to Digivolve."

A pink Digivice is held up with EVOLUTION popping up on to the screen.

Yoshi then held her left hand, palm facing up, as it was covered in pink data. "DNA Charge!" Yoshi yelled as she slammed her hand on top of her Digivice before spinning around and holding it up as the screen lit up.

"Lalamon Digivolve to…"

Lalamon is then covered in data and begins to change.

"Togemon!"

"Needle Spray!" A barrage of needles zipped towards Kunemon.

Marcus and Agumon saw the battle and the outcome.

"They defeated it because you took too long trying to get me out of this cage." Agumon muttered.

"Give me a break." Marcus said.

A huge cocoon was then revealed.

"What the!" Togemon exclaimed in shock. "Needle Spray should have reverted it back to a Digi-Egg."

The cocoon then broke apart as a huge bee like Digimon emerged and used its wings to fly up and roared at the others.

Flymon then charged and flew over Yoshi and Togemon as particles were released and it was effecting the two.

"What's this? I'm starting… to feel… numb." Yoshi said before collapsing with Togemon also collapsing with her.

"That does it." Marcus rushed forward.

"Marcus, I need to digivolve first." Agumon called out.

"Right." He prepared his Digivice and tried to generate a DNA Charge.

"Nothing's happening, I'm not getting that tingly feeling in my fist!"

Flymon then instinctively dodged two beams of heat.

"Where did-?"

The source turned out to be Superman.

"My turn." Flymon flew towards his attacker, screeching.

While it was occupied, Marcus ran over to join the fight.

"Marcus, it's too dangerous. You can't handle this. Leave it to a professional like me." Yoshi begged him to run away.

"No, I'll never run away!" Marcus shouted back. "An Ultimate Fighter never shows cowardice. No matter how difficult the fight might be I stand my ground. That's what a winner does. Fighting time again!"

He ran towards the two aerial combatants. The Digimon was knocked out of the sky by a punch.

Marcus then slammed his fist into the Digimon while Agumon tore through the cage and released himself.

"Ready to fight, Agumon?" He asked.

"Oh yeah." Agumon replied.

"DNA Charge!"

"Agumon digivolve to...ExVeemon!" Agumon transformed into a blue Digimon with a pair of white wings on his back.

"Gabumon digivolve to...Kabuterimon!" Gabumon transformed into a multi-armed insect with four wings on his back.

"ExVeemon? Kabuterimon? What about Greymon and Garurumon?" A still numb Yoshi asked.

"We adapt to different adversaries."

Flymon noticed the two and decided to engage ExVeemon.

'So these spores caused Yoshi and Togemon to feel numb.' ExVeemon thought

ExVeemon then threw the bee down to the ground. Seeing he had been overpowered, Flymon tried to escape.

"X-Laser!" An energy wave was emitted from the "X" pattern on ExVeemon's chest.

"Electro Shocker!" Kabuterimon fired an electrical ball at Flymon.

Flymon was reverted back into a Digi-Egg.

"It seems your fists of fury awaken your DNA, eh?" A voice called out.

Marcus turned to a familiar face.

"Hey, you're the old guy that gave us our Digivices."

"If you seek to be the ultimate fighter who fights the ultimate battles, you're not going to find them in this world but in the Digital World. There's an unlimited amount of opponents who will test your fighting skills and make you the best fighter on two worlds." He informed Marcus.

"Then I'll be the ultimate." Marcus commented.

"I'm getting out of here." Superman flew off after the battle with Kabuterimon not far behind him.

Marcus helped Yoshi to her feet, while ExVeemon did the same for Togemon.

"Thanks Marcus." Yoshi appreciated the assist from the 14 year old.

The two then returned to the Damon house for some well-earned rest.

The next day...

Yoshi took Flymon's Digi-Egg back to base so it could be sent back to the Digital World.

"Something has finally gone right with this mess." Kudamon stated. "It took all our resources to cover up the destruction from that battle."

Yoshi put a smile on her face before saying. "Don't forget that we at least captured the rogue Digimon, and we erased that boy's memory of the incident! So, all's well that ends well ha ha ha."

Sampson though was not amused. "Don't get cocky."

"Yes sir."

"Wait, if you're back here then who's looking after Raptor-1?" Kudamon questioned.

"I wouldn't worry about that." Clark pointed to a door. "They're about to enter the room."

The door then opened revealing Marcus and Agumon.

"What are you doing here?" Kudamon demanded. "Speak up."

"We're going to do you a favor and join DATS." Marcus informed them.

"Really?" Yoshi asked surprised.

She gave Marcus the offer to join earlier, but he turned it down.

"What's this?!" Kudamon shouted in alarm.

He wasn't expecting this.

"If we join the Digimon Data Squad then Agumon can stay right!?" Marcus exclaimed.

"Very well." Sampson said causing everyone to look at him. "I'm surprised you took this long to ask Marcus. And you no longer have to worry about being sent back Agumon."

"I'm glad to hear that." Agumon smiled.

"Me too." Marcus gave Agumon a friendly handshake.

"Approaching destination sir." A blue canine announced to a blonde-haired boy

"Thank you, Gaomon. After all this time I'm finally home." The boy said while staring out the plane window.
