Hey, time for an update! The chapter a little bit longer this time and next chapter my OC will be introduced!
I'd like to thank those who reviewed and I'll reply as best as I can next chapter. My plot bunnies are jumping around again so hopefully I'll have some new ideas and summaries on my profile soon.

It was always a dull day on the even duller street of Privet Drive. Housewives were always on the hunt for gossip, ears stalking conversations like tigers on the prowl, perking up at any mention of 'unsavoury' happenings. One of these particular housewives had an appearance reminiscent of a giraffe, only without the grace and poise. This lady, if she can really be called so, went by the name of Petunia Dursley née Evans. A woman with an extraordinarily long neck, perfect for peering over fences in an effort to gain gossip material; a body so thin it gave the impression of a stick insect and unflattering blonde hair.
She had the 'perfect' family which consisted of her husband, Vernon, a big beefy man with too much fat on his body to ever be considered slightly healthy, with a mustache covering his upper lip, and their son, Dudley, a bullying little git who was well on his way to becoming the size of a champion sumo wrestler.
They, however, had a very unwanted house 'guest'. This guest was their nephew, an 8 year old boy with unscrupulous midnight hair that refused to lie flat, displaying an odd lightning bolt shape scar; thin bony knees and bright, mesmerizing, emerald green eyes. He was small for his age with glasses stuck together with tape and hand-me-down clothes far too big for his small frame.
His body was in fact malnourished due to his relative's ever so loving care, with hand shape bruises lining his arms from when his uncle threw him into the cupboard under the stairs. This cupboard doubled as his bedroom.
His name was Harry Potter, and he, much to his relatives chagrin, was a wizard.
