Aunt Olivia is acting strange. I don't understand what I did wrong, but I must have done something awful for her to treat me like she has since she came back from her business trip. I didn't do anything more than run up to her and hug her tightly, but her hug felt wrong. It was stiff kind of, like when I try and play with my friend Jerry at school and he ignores me. I don't like it, not at all. She's acting weird too, staring at her closest with a weird look on her face like she doesn't want to eat her vegetables. And Aunt Olivia loves her vegetables!
Mommy says there's nothing wrong but it's been two weeks now and aunty Liv is not herself. I don't know what happened between her and Uncle Peter. I hope they didn't have a fight; I hate it when adults fight. Mommy and daddy fought all the time and now mommy and daddy don't talk. I hope that doesn't happen with auntie Liv and Uncle Peter. Uncle Peter has been over almost every day and they're acting like weird people act. Mommy says they're just in love, but there's something off on Auntie Liv. She doesn't look at him the same anymore; before she had this goofy look in her eyes, now there's something darker there. And before she used to smile, now there's a frown on her face.
I feel like I can't do anything right around her anymore. I have to keep quiet, I can't color and laugh loudly when mommy tickles me and she's always moody. Mommy says it's nothing to worry about, but I know she's worried too. It's almost like there's a clone of my Aunt Liv and the real one is hiding somewhere, playing a strange game with me. I don't know where to look though and I'm scared that by the time I do find her she'll be sick. If only Uncle Peter could see what I see, he's very smart after all. Grandpa Walter can see it I think, he's funny but he's turning serious now. Ever since they came back from their important business trip things haven't been the same. Why do adults have to be so … secretive, is that the word?
I want MY Auntie Liv back, I miss her. Perhaps I'll talk to Uncle Peter about this on the weekend. He's taking me out for ice cream!
