Chapter 3! Please read and review to make me happy! Watch no. 6 if you like yaoi :D
I carefully nursed my newest wounds as I lay along my back on Kanda's bedroom floor. I have no idea how we ended up here of all places. How many doorways and walls would we have to crash into? Our little 'wrestle' took roughly an hour and in that hour, we pulverised a total of two rooms and one washroom. I rolled onto my stomach, hesitating for a split second. I can leave. Right now. As if I was shocked back to life, I sat up and glanced at Kanda who was still sprawled on the ground licking his split lip. When did I give him that? I watched Kanda lick the blood off from the little cut and inspected his lips for any more. When I noticed he started looking down to focus on a new bruise on his leg, I made a break for it.
I slid through the hallways until I saw the door within my line of sight. While we were fighting, I took note of where we were so I wouldn't get lost within his house, as well as know the route which gets you to the front doors the fastest. Just as my fingertips brushed the door handle, a loud buzzer sound off into my ear, making me jump back and yelp in surprise. I whipped my head backwards and saw the object of my hatred walking towards me. I tried slowing my racing heart as I watched him play with a little remote in his hand. The remote control held a series of buttons which I had no idea what they did. I didn't want to find out either.
"Do you think you'd be able to get out that easily?" He scoffed and me and I groaned aloud, pulling at my white hair in desperation.
"Just let me leave already! This way I can get out of your life, stop bothering you, and I can go find Mana! He's probably worried sick by now!" I yelled at him in exasperation. All he proceeded to do was stare at me blankly before turning around and walking away. "Hey! Bakanda, don't you dare walk away from me!" Just as I was about to reach over and grab his shoulder, he turned abruptly and I felt something cold slip around my wrist.
A handcuff? Oh hell no. He took the other end and put it on his own wrist.
"Now you can't possibly run away." He smirked at me and kept walking down the hall. The chain was only around four feet long so after a couple of steps, I got yanked forward and dragged along against my will.
"Seriously, Kanda. Why do you even want me here still?" We walked upstairs into his bedroom. I watched him pick out a few clothes from his dresser.
"Well," Kanda hesitated for a second, as if trying to come up with an answer out of the blue.
Kanda POV
I don't know why I wanted Allen here with me, truth be told. I guess I just really enjoy his company. I easily get riled up by the brat, but instead of finding it annoying like I usually do, it felt kind of…refreshing. He wasn't like all the other people he had to deal with in his everyday life. Usually people would completely ignore me or just come over to poke fun at my long hair. My hair is a touchy subject. This guy, Allen, he was definitely a special case.
"You're different."
Allen POV
I'm different? This guy hardly knows me. The way Kanda said the last word bordered on deadly. It made me feel that if I said anything else, I would be pounded to death.
"Plus, if I let you out there, you'll most likely be dead by tomorrow morning." I growled at him, not noticing the ghost of a smirk on his face. He just had to add a comeback didn't he. He just wants to one-up me. He pulled me over to the washroom and I yanked back.
"I am not going to the washroom with you." I pulled harder, backwards towards myself, and began to drag Kanda away, but to no avail. He was much bigger and heavier, not in the fat way of course, than me. It's impossible for a stick like me to try to knock him over.
"Calm down, moyashi, I'm just dropping my clothes down so I can take a shower later. It's not like I'm getting you into the shower with me." He rolled his eyes at me and yanked his arm forward, hard, making me stumble and trip into him.
I hit him hard and both of us toppled over onto the ground. It's one of those cliché moments when two people fall and one ends up on top of the other. Our bodies were pretty much flush with each other with my legs in between his and my arms on either side of his head, barely keeping my mouth from touching his. We stared at each other in shock before I noticed our position and I quickly scooted off. I sat as far as I possibly could, given the length of the chain, and waited for Kanda to do something. My face flushed a dark red as Kanda stood up like nothing happened. Obviously, I didn't miss the small tint of pink dusting his cheeks. We walked downstairs in silence and headed off towards the kitchen. I didn't say anything as I watched him pick out bowls from the wooden cupboards. The house itself was average with nothing really that special about it. All the walls were white and the furniture was either mahogany or black. All in all, it was a pretty boring house.
"What do you want to eat?" Kanda asked, putting away plates on the top shelf. Since I was still keeping my distance, whenever he raised the arm with the handcuff, he would raise mine as well. I guess you could say we looked like marionette puppets. He just finished stacking the plates when I answered him.
"Twelve plates of mitarashi dango, five bowls of rice, a plate of pasta…" I continued on and on before Kanda pulled the chain, making me topple over again and land face first onto the ground.
"What the hell, Kanda! What was that for?" I yelled at him, rubbing my nose gently.
"I can't afford all of that food, moyashi." Kanda deadpanned and I sighed in defeat.
In the end, all I ordered was 3 plates of mitarashi dango. What can I say? I love them and would take them over a main course any day. He grumbled incoherent words as he picked up the phone and called a local restaurant which happened to sell dango. I blocked out his voice and examined his well stocked refrigerator. I appraised his good food choices and took out a few items, chopping them up for whatever meal we were going to have.
"Yes, I want five plates of mitarashi dang-moyashi. What are you doing?" Kanda raised an eyebrow, watching me work.
"What does it look like? I'm making food and I already have something in mind. I didn't look up at him as I replied, instead focusing solely on my task. I heard him say something that sounded like 'Hope it's edible' and continued talking to the person on the phone.
"Forget about the previous orders. I just want the dango."
Roughly thirty minutes later, our dessert arrived and lunch-actually it's dinner now- was served. Our meal consisted of a bowl of white rice, miso soup, teriyaki chicken, and a garden salad. As well as the mitarashi dango of course. Kanda being the person he is, 'accidentally' ordered two extra plates.
"Itadakimasu!" We both spoke but Kanda with less enthusiasm. We dug in and didn't speak until dessert time.
"Are you going to take the handcuffs off now?" I asked as I ate my second place of the delicious dango.
"Nope." I froze as I watched Kanda close his eyes and savour the sweet taste.
"You're telling me that I'm going to have to go into the washroom with you?" My voice raised on octave and I stood up, knocking the chair down.
"I'm definitely leaving now." I turned around only to be pulled back to the table. I fell backwards and my torso landed harshly on the table.
Kanda smartly moved both of our plates out of the way first so I wouldn't shatter his precious china. I glared at him and stuck out my tongue childishly. He plopped a dango into my mouth and I chewed it happily, the sweetness filling my taste buds.
"I hate you. I hope you realise that." I said between chews.
He nodded at me and stood up. What's wrong with him? I shook my head and picked up the last stick of dango before being dragged off by Kanda. You should never waste your food. Thinking about it, it's actually not that bad, being here with Kanda I mean. He gives me free food, he gives me free dango, and we only fight because I'm the one to start it. Most of the time.
My brain clicked with a plan and I smiled evilly, waiting until we reached the top step of the stairs. Safety first, children! After both of us stood safely on the landing with plenty of space from the stairs, I pulled back, hard, and shifted out of the way. He fell down ungracefully and looked wide-eyed up at the ceiling. In a split second his eyes narrowed and he glared towards me.
"Moyashi!" I laughed and tried to run away, completely forgetting about the chain. Despite not moving a muscle, he made me fall, nearly on top of him again. Such skill. As soon as the four feet of chain was used up -at the speed I was going- Newton's third law came at me with full force. I was flung backwards and just like Kanda, I landed harshly on my back.
"Ouch!" I winced in pain, rubbing my abused backside. Kanda smirked at me, laughter bubbling on his lips as he stood up. He then proceeded to drag me to the washroom, as if my thrashing around was like a goldfish trying to escape his hold. It was futile.
"It's time for your bath, moyashi. You stink and smell like dirty snow." Kanda wrinkled his nose in my direction, hauling me up and placing me in the tub. He flipped the toilet seat cover down and sat down, getting comfortable, watching me the entire time.
"Well? What are you standing there for? Start washing." I flushed red.
"Not while you're watching! Just unlock the handcuff and stand outside the door. I can't possibly escape. There's not even a window in here." I tried reasoning with him.
"I lost the key." His was straight faced but I didn't know if he was lying or not.
"You did what?" I yelled and he covered his ears. "How am I supposed to get out of this now?" I pulled on the chain and ran my hands through my white hair.
"See? I knew you were going to try to escape." I paused and looked at him. Instead of replying, I pulled the shower curtain closed and…well I took off my clothes. I cut off my clothes, throwing them at Kanda, hearing a muffled sound of surprise. Couldn't exactly take them off with the handcuffs.
"You better not peek in, Bakanda!" I turned on the water, waiting until the temperature was to my liking.
"Jeez, it's not like I'm a pervert and get off by looking at younger boys." He rolled his eyes.
I continued with my shower, finishing in a few minutes, sticking my head out, soaking wet. I looked around for a towel and was stunned by the sight in front of me. Kanda had already changed into pyjamas and was combing out his hair. He took it out while I was in the shower and it was really long…and pretty.
"Take a picture, it lasts longer." He eyed me before looking back in the mirror. I almost blushed but fought it back
"Shut up. I need a towel," I looked around but didn't spot my clothes. "and clothes." He finally turned towards me, holding a soft looking cream towel in his hand. He pointed to the clothes he left here earlier.
"You can wear those." I took the towel gratefully and changed quickly, pulling the curtains closed again.
Kanda wore a simple black t-shirt and black low riding sweatpants. The clothes he gave me consisted of a white shirt and black shorts. I put the shorts on but stared at the t-shirt in my hand. How am I supposed to put this on? I stepped out of the shower and showed him the shirt.
"How do you expect me to put this on? Actually, how did you put your clothes on?" I looked at him suspiciously and he picked up a key on the counter top that I didn't notice.
I couldn't believe it. He had one the entire time. I watched him unlock my handcuff. In those few seconds I went through many possibilities to take him down. None of them would work, especially in this small washroom. He moved away and I stared at the white shirt. To sleep in a warm bed or outside in the cold. To stay with this idiot or find Mana. I'll definitely go find Mana tomorrow. I pulled the shirt over my head and stuck my arms through. Kanda grabbed my hand and snapped the cuff around my wrist. I wiped my feet dry and placed the towel in the hamper, watching him finish.
"Stop staring, it's creeping me out." His eye twitched and he glared at me. If he was a cat his fur would be standing up.
"Aren't you going to take a shower?" I asked him, focusing on his hand combing through his raven locks. How soft is his hair? I was overcome with an urge to stroke his hair. I couldn't help wondering if it felt as soft as it looked.
"I had one in the morning."
"So that means you're one of those people who shower in the morning?"
"No. I usually shower at night. What's with these pointless questions?" He frowned at me and handed me an extra hair brush he had lying around.
I styled my hair with the brush and combed out the small knots from showering. I handed the brush back and continued our useless bantering. We brushed our teeth before he dragged me to his bedroom.
"We're sleeping in your room? I have to sleep in your room?" I puckered my face and stepped back slowly. I would rather not get within two feet of this guy. Also, I've never actually slept with anyone else (not like that you pervs), other than Mana. I've never had a sleepover either. This is what happens when you don't have any friends. Mana was my only friend. Mana. Is he worried about me right now? I was rethinking my choice of not fighting back now. How could I pick a warm bed over him?
"Moyashi." Kanda flicked me out of my daze and got my attention. I blinked, blinked, and blinked again.
"What?" I answered stupidly.
"You have to sleep somewhere and we can only be four feet apart." He pulled me over to the bed and he sat down on the edge, leaning back on his hands.
His bangs swept across of his face sideways as he tilted his face. No matter how attractive he looked, the bed looked more tempting to me right now. I suddenly felt tired and grunted in agreement with his statement. Maybe it was just the atmosphere of his room. Sleepy time. The bed looked soft and plush. Warm…so warm. I climbed into Kanda's black duvet bed and completely ignored him, snuggling in deep, tucking the blanket around me. He watched me crawl in and shook his head.
"Baka moyashi…" He flipped open the covers and slipped in bed too.
Good? Bad? Review and tell me please! You can type a single letter and then leave. :D My first A/N was saying how it's only 2000 words (but now it's around 2800 words), and how I was getting stuck on what to write at 700 words.
I asked a question last time…well I was supposed to but I forgot to write it.
Question: Fave character in D. Gray-Man
Answer: Road Kamelot. I don't know why but I love her. Main character wise, it's definitely Allen…or Kanda. Duh.
QoD: Guns or knives/swords? Why?
