Mr Bennet married the daughter of an Earl with whom he had 3 children – twins James and Elizabeth, as well as Mary. His wife and her only brother die. Soon after, Bennet's older brother marries Fanny Gardiner just before his death. When Fanny delivers twin girls, Kitty and Lydia, Bennet inherits Longbourn. To keep James safe from Collins, Bennet's son is raised by his grandparents.

What if Elizabeth and Darcy were forced to spend time together before the disastrous Hunsford proposal?

Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth attend a masquerade ball at Netherfield where their identities are concealed. Unaware of each other's true identity, an irresistible attraction is sparked that transcends their prejudices.

After the Netherfield Ball, Darcy never meets Elizabeth again. In the years that follow, he is forced to evaluate the reasons he left Netherfield and if his advice to Bingley was sound. The marriages of those closest to him and coincidental meetings with another Bennet sister make him question what he truly values in a wife. Mr. Darcy/Jane Bennet pairing. Darcy POV

Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy miss each other at Pemberley, thus leaving Lydia's elopement without a quick resolution. What follows is an adventure full of twists and turns, angst and laughter that leads to self-discovery of the Bennet ladies and Mr. Darcy, and HEA for ODC via Windsor. This is an Elizabeth and Darcy story that mostly only deviates from cannon in that it is set in modern times in Western Australia. It is also first person from Darcy's point of view. So, old story, new setting. Rating based on the occasional expletive, f-words redacted :)

Darcy does not insult Elizabeth, Caroline is revealed as a shrew much earlier and sent away, Mr Bennet takes a more active role after listening to Lydia spew nonsense and Mrs Bennet is censured earlier as well.
