Chapter Fourteen
A Loud, Little Puppy
"All right, that's it!" The 23-year-old woman pushed herself to her feet before stomping towards the two men that continued to fight.
"I wouldn't Sienna," Angeal called after her. "You know how those two are."
Genesis was fighting Sephiroth again, as usual. Thy had been constantly doing this for the last two years, since that little experience with Genesis in the Training Room; their fights would grew fiercer and fiercer with each day. Sienna had endured in for as long as she could, but now, enough was enough.
Ignoring the man, she continued to walk towards the other two, waiting. As they both began to fall back to the ground, still going at it and not noticing her, Sienna slammed her hand to the ground, glazing it over with a sheet of ice. The two men slid away from each other, unstable on the ice and surprise on their faces.
"Sienna…" Sephiroth's voice was simple as he stared at her.
The way he said her name made Genesis' skin curl. "Why do you get in the way?" He demanded, staring at the woman.
Sienna crossed her arms as she glared at the two of them. "The two of you are just stupid and thick-headed!" Sephiroth gave a silent sigh. She only made comments like that when she was truly enraged and tired with their fighting. "Do you always have to fight? Can't the four of us just…I don't know…go eat a nice dinner together and relax and enjoy each other's company instead of fighting?"
Sephiroth stared at her for a moment before slowly letting his sword arm lower. She smiled at him, but then had the break sucked out of her as he grabbed her and pulled her into his chest in time to block Genesis' own sword.
"No," the man in red snarled. "Not until I win!"
Sienna shoved herself away from Sephiroth and glared at both of them. "You're unbelievable. "Come on, Angeal. It's just the two of us tonight."
Angeal gave a laugh as he followed her, leaving Genesis and Sephiroth in their little fight. "Too bad, guys. You're out of luck!"
Angeal and Sienna went to get dinner by themselves, laughing and talking over the events of the last years and what they planned on for the future. Sienna wasn't sure how to begin the conversation that she wanted so she started with something that she had noticed about her friend over the past few months.
"You're acting strange lately, Angeal," Sienna leaned her elbows on the table as they waited for their food.
The man paused for a moment as he reached for his glass. "Strange?" He raised an eyebrow.
"Yes, strange. I don't get to see you as much as I used to.'
He grabbed his glass. "That's because we got our own houses, remember?" He chuckled.
"No, it's not that," She began to tap her finger on her chin. "It's something else. You seem…occupied with something after our missions are done with. Tell me," She smiled. "What is it? It must be pretty important to you."
Angeal smiled, setting his glass back down. "Nothing get's passed you, does it Sienna?"
"Nope, nothing," She laughed. "So, come on, tell me!"
"Well," Angeal leaned forward on the tabled. "I have found a young 3rd Class that, shall we say, interests me."
"Oh?"
He nodded. "His name if Zack Fair. He's a loud little puppy, but he's got great potential. I feel that he can accomplish something."
Sienna smiled at her friend. "Well, have you grabbed hold of him yet?"
Angeal nodded again. "For the last month or so." He smirked as if he remembered something. "As I said before, he shows great potential. Loud, but potential."
"Well, you're partners with Genesis so you should be used to that." She told him; they shared a laugh.
"I…I'd like for you to meet him, but at his stage I think that he'd be too overexcited and do something…foolish. So, give me a little longer with him, okay?"
Sienna grinned. "Of course. He's best be strong by the time that I do get to meet him , though. Especially if you're the one that's training him. I'm sure that he'll be a 1st Class SOLDIER in no time."
Angeal gave her an appreciative smile. "At least you believe in me. I appreciate that, Sienna."
"Come on, Angeal. You're like my brother. Of course I believe in you. I always will."
"Well, if you see me as your brother, then why don't we go ahead and get to the reason behind this sudden dinner invitation." Angeal told her.
She flushed. "Nothing gets past you either, does it?"
"I learned from the best," He smiled at her. "Now, spill it. Is something bothering you? Is there someone I need to go talk to?"
"No, it's nothing like that, but…" She closed her eyes for a moment. "I'm leaving Midgar for a little while."
He was silent for a moment, just staring at her with a plain face. "Where are you going?"
She glanced away. "Junon."
"Why?"
"I…I plan on finding my parents." She answered him. "You know that I don't remember anything before…all of this. I was seven when my first memory hit me. Well, I found some reports on being found in Junon and I had hoped that I…"
Angeal reached across the table and grabbed her hand. "I understand," He told her with a smile. "And I hope that you find what you're looking for."
Sienna gave a sigh of relief. "I'm glad you understand. I was worried that you might try to stop me."
He gave a laugh. "That's not me you'll have to worry about doing that."
She gave a groan and set her forehead on the table. "I know." She glanced up at the man across from her. "That's why I decided to tell you first. Could you?"
Angeal rubbed his chin for a moment. "I don't know…Genesis will be pretty hard to contain; especially when it comes to you."
"An~geal!"
"Of course I can," Angeal laughed at her. "All I'll have to do is get us on some missions. AWAY from Junon, of course." He rubbed the back of his neck. "Does Sephiroth know?"
She shrugged. "Even if he does, you and I both know that he won't make a comment about it. He understands what I need to do." ~More than anyone else~
"Sephiroth is Sephiroth, after all." Angeal shrugged. "But as long as you stay safe then the three of us won't have any reason to follow you. You get into any trouble, though, I'm expecting a call, you got it?"
"God, what are you, my guardian?" She grunted.
"I would like to think that I'm something much more important than that." Angeal grunted, crossing his arms.
"You know that you are, Angeal," Sienna smiled at him. "I don't know what I'd do without any of the three of you. I'd be lost."
He gave her his own smile. "I'm glad to hear that, Sienna. You had me worried that only Sephiroth and Genesis were your favorites."
"Please," She waved a hand. "To be honest, you were the first one I got along with out of the three of you. I hated Sephiroth when I was a child. I just…grew up over time."
Angeal knew that she was thinking about something. He watched her for a moment with a small smile before clearing his throat. "So, when do you plan on leaving?"
"The day after tomorrow." She answered him. "I'll tell Sephiroth and Genesis tomorrow."
"I'll send Genesis to your house tomorrow night after our mission," Angeal told her. "I'm sure he won't mind. I'm more worried about his reaction," He commented as their food was served. "But I'm sure that you'll be able to contain him."
Sienna swallowed. "Hopefully."
~She stole everything your heart desired
Now you want it back
She stole everything
She controlled everything~
"You called for me?"
Sienna paused. She had been beginning a fire in the pit in her backyard but now that he had arrived, she felt that some self-amusement was no longer needed. "Take a seat, Sephiroth," the man was still for a moment. "I have something to-"
"I know," He cut her off as he took his normal seat on the logs around the pit. "Junon, I know."
She stared at him in shock. "How did you-" She shook her head. "Never mind. I should be used to this from you." She leaned back against the log and titled her head back to stare up at the sky. The starts were bright tonight.
"Is there any idea where to start?"
She blinked. "No, not really. They found me in Junon, though, so it's something. I know that it sounds stupid, but I still…"
"It's not stupid," Sephiroth told her. "Anything that can lead you to the path isn't stupid." He went silent for a moment. "I would offer to go with you, but I believe that finding an answer as important as this is better done alone."
"At least I'm not the only one that thinks that. I'm sure Genesis is going tto argue every step of the way."
"I will, will I?"
Sienna gave a sigh. "Always." She gave Angeal a smile. "I take it that the mission went good?"
"Of course," He smiled as he took his spot. "And did yours?"
"2/3's of it." She answered truthfully. "The last part is going to be the hardest."
"Indeed."
Genesis gave a sneer. "You know I hate it when you talk in secrecy."
"But that's why we love to do it, Gen," Angeal teased his friend.
Sienna gave a laugh before tossing her head back to stare at the sky again.
The man in red gave a growl before clearing his throat. "What is the problem, Sienna? What is it that you needed to see me for?"
"I just…wanted to see you guys again before I leave for Junon."
"For Junon?" Genesis' voice was shocked. "What are you going there for? Is it a mission?"
"Think of it as a more personal mission." She answered him.
"How long do you think you'll be gone?" Sephiroth asked the question this time.
She shrugged. "I don't have an honest answer. It depends on how long it takes me to find what I'm looking for." She stood up and moved further into the yard, leaving the three men to sit around the pit.
"What is it that you're looking for?" Genesis asked her.
"A family." She answered him. "I already know that I have one here with the three of you, but I'd still like to find out just where and who I came from." She took a breath. "I don't care if ShinRa wants to tell me that I can't go. I'm going anyway!" She found herself digging her nails into her palm and loosened her grip. "Besides, I think the three of you will be able to survive without me for a little while. At least, I hope. If I get a call about you killing each other though, I'll bring you back to life and then kill you myself, understand?"
All three of them let out a laugh. "You needn't worry, Sienna," Angeal chuckled. "I'll keep the two of them from killing each other."
"You'd better," She growled at him, a small smile of her own on her lips.
"You could have given us a more of a warning, you know." Genesis sighed, taking a seat on the log. He used Materia to start a fire. "I would have gotten you a going away present."
Sienna turned to stare at him. She had been sure that Genesis would have been the biggest objector to her leaving. She had even expected him to demand to be allowed to go with her.
"You'll be able to take care of yourself, won't you?" Genesis asked her.
"Please," She waved a hand. "If the stress of you and Sephiroth hasn't killed me yet, I'll be just fine."
Sephiroth gave a chuckle. "The little dove will be fine, Genesis. Besides, I believe that she'll be smart enough to contact us if something bad were to happen, right Sienna?"
Sienna glanced at the three men sitting there before her and let a smile spread across her face. ~As long as I have the three of them behind me, I'm sure that I'll be able to do anything.~
