So here's chapter 4! Short but action packed! Also, for those who were wondering, the song Shay is dancing to is 'Pyromania' by Cascada. Ironic, isn't it?

I own nothing!

Chapter 4

"Do you guys want to see me dance?"

Everyone looked up from their dinner at Shay, who was twirling a lock of hair with her index finger. It had been two days since they learned she could dance, and four since they first met her, but she was already considered part of the group. Yet she still surprised them - like now, for instance.

"I asked a shop owner if it was okay for me to dance in front of his store. He and I figure it will bring in more business. So," And here she looked a little nervous. "I was wondering if you guys wanted to see me dance there tonight."

"Tonight?" Manta glanced at the clock; 6:30 p.m.

"Uh, yeah. I'm supposed to be there by seven. So, do you want to go?" And now she looked up at them for the first time, and everyone saw how eager she was for their answer.

They all looked at Anna, who took it upon herself to answer for the whole group. "Yes, we will go." Shay smiled, and immediately excused herself to get ready. As everyone hurried to finish their dinner, Anna looked over at Manta. "You're washing the dishes tonight."

"Wha?!"

As Manta, with Yoh's help, finished up the dishes, and everyone else milled about waiting to leave, Shay suddenly walked into the room. Everyone stared at her, completely stunned: instead of her usual baggy T-shirt and patched up jeans, she now wore a light blue spaghetti-strapped tank top, and a pair of black skin-tight capris. Her hair was done up in an interesting style; instead of her usual sloppy ponytail, it was pulled back tightly, wrapped in a small bun, with her hair pulled through it and hanging loose down to the middle of her back. It suddenly occurred to the boys that most of the past half hour had probably been spent on her hair.

"Ready to go?" Shay asked, and her excitement was evident.

"What about your shoes?" The normally quiet Tamao said. As a response Shay held up a pair of cloth black shoes with sequins across the front in the shape and color of the American flag, with white soles. And with that, she practically ran out the door, putting on her shoes in between steps.

The shop was small, in between a shoe store and a candy shop. The place itself seemed little more than a department store, crammed into one of the busiest places in Funbari Hill. Shay stepped in to speak with the owner, who was at the register. Soon she came out with a small boom box and, setting it down on the ground, popped open the CD player and put in a CD she had been carrying. Then she took a few moments to stretch, as shoppers and other passersby looked at her curiously.

Manta stood next to the radio, ready to press PLAY when Shay was ready, while Yoh held a water bottle and a small towel. As she stretched, they all marveled at how flexible Shay was; lifting a leg up until it touched her forehead, she would hold the position for thirty seconds and switch to the other leg, or would be able to completely touch her toes without bending her legs. After a few minutes, she signaled Manta to press PLAY.

Shay managed to match the beat of the song with her body perfectly; beginning slow and smooth, but slowly becoming quicker and sharper, until it looked like she barely touched the ground as she moved from one place to another. Soon she was completely ringed in by a wall of spectators on all sides. Her moves were so complex, from jumping to spinning to kicking up high, the shamans sometimes just stared instead of watched, completely amazed. As the song ended, Shay managed to completely freeze her position right on cue, and held it for another few seconds as her audience cheered, and began tossing yen into the small tip jar she had brought.

Shay took a bow, then walked over to Yoh, who handed her the water bottle. Taking a long drink from it, she then handed it back to Yoh with a grateful smile, which widened to one of sheer joy when two women asked to get her picture, and a small girl even asked for her autograph.

Eventually, she made her way back to her friends. "So, what did you think?"

"You were great, Shay-san!" Manta said excitedly. "But shouldn't you start with the next track?"

"You're right! Get it ready, okay?"

As Shay was about to signal Manta to press PLAY, the building a few shops down suddenly exploded, and the shops on either side collapsed on themselves. Flames spread all down the block, and Shay's audience broke away, screaming.

Yoh and the others began running into the burning buildings, helping as many people as they could get out. Shay and Manta, however, ran to the collapsed buildings, trying to see what had happened. They were just about there-

-When they suddenly felt another explosion, and they looked up to see smoke over the rooftops. Confused, they stopped and watched as across the street more shops caught on fire. Shay was just about to run over, but she suddenly felt someone grab her from behind and pull her back. Hitting the wall of one of the shops, Shay managed to control her reflexes long enough to see that it was Ren, who had pulled her out of the way of some debris.

"Baka! Pay attention to where you stand!" He had to shout to be heard over the sounds of screaming, flames and collapsing buildings. Turning back to the mayhem, he was about to cross the street when he stopped dead, eyes widened. As Yoh and the others caught up, they did the same, as they watched a familiar figure step out of a wall of flames and smoke.

"Hello, little brother."

They all stared, dumbstruck; what on Earth was Hao doing here?! Every single one of them had thought he was dead, even Yoh. Yet here he was, standing in front of them with that same smirk he always had. They couldn't do anything more than just stare.

As for Shay, she was mostly confused. Why was everyone just standing there? And what did that guy mean little brother? Though, on a closer look, Shay saw that he and Yoh looked almost exactly alike. She could also see he was a shaman. But just what was going on?!

"Hm, not going to greet me back? How rude of you." As if right on cue, another explosion of fire rocked the street, and that seemed to shake the shamans out of their shock, as those who had their mediums with them oversouled. But Hao just chuckled.

"Relax, I didn't come here to fight. Just to say hello." And with that, he disappeared inside of a pure black flame, leaving them alone in the burning street.
