Disclaimer: Percy Jackson does not belong to me (me sad)

Wow, long time in not updating but IM BACK! WOO HOO! I do hope y'all enjoy!

Percy strode to the beach, angry at the world, angry at those damn campers but mostly angry at himself. What in Hades was happening to him? For a whole year he was like a machine, fearless, careless and set out to do any task that was laid out in front of him no matter what the cost? But now? Now he had no idea – he started to feel all these emotions bubbling inside him, almost like it was waking his soul up and he didn't like it one bit. He didn't want to care, he didn't want to feel, he just wanted to be left alone, was that so much to ask?

Sighing angrily he plonked himself down on the sandy beach; his emotions making the water swish around in rage and for a storm to brew on the horizon. He didn't want to be here. He couldn't be here. And for the first time in a long time, Percy Jackson, the fearless leader, was scared of the events unfolding.

Annabeth sat in her cabin for the remainder of the day, her mind racing like a formula one car. How could she help Percy? What could she do to make everything alright again? How could she manage to speak to him without him ripping her head off? It all seemed impossible but deep down, Annabeth knew it wasn't – Percy was definitely in there somewhere, she just had to find some way to get him back. Easy huh?

So when the conch sounded for dinner Annabeths heart started beating wildly in her chest, making her feel a little bit dizzy. It was now or never – she would have to face Percy eventually so why not now? With a determined sigh she pulled herself from her bed and got ready to face the music.

When Annabeth got to the dining pavilion everyone was looking especially nervous – even Chiron, and she saw why almost immediately. A storm was thundering across the camp, dark clouds spitting rain and the lake was literally out of control. It must be Percy's emotions, Annabeth thought sadly, he must be hurting so much right now.

So she sat down next to her brothers and sisters, eyes flitting around the dining pavilion nervously. After a few minutes she started bobbing her leg up and down when there was no sign of Percy. Where was he? Surely he would come for dinner, she thought, he must be hungry.

It was then two figures walked through camp with a purposeful stride, eyes drilling holes through Annabeths. It wasn't long before Chiron noticed and stood up, eyes wary.

"Who are you? What do you want?" He thundered and Annabeth stood up with the rest of the camp, on guard. Who were these people? Were they friends or foes? Annabeth guessed foes judging by the way their eyes grew angrier and angrier as they drew closer.

"It's none of your business who we are" the one with the brown hair snapped, pulling out two swords and wielding them professionally, "But as to why we're here? Well… I thought that was obvious – we're here for Percy Jackson" he snapped, and his companion, too, drew his sword and the whole ground seemed to quake with their presence.

"Percy?" Annabeth asked, her heart sinking. Did Percy have more enemies than they realised.

"Ahhhh Annabeth Chase, pleasure" He said acidly, eyes scouring around the camp, "Now tell me… where is Perseus Jackson?" he thundered and suddenly large cracks in the ground erupted, chunks of grass flying everywhere – the ground was literally being torn apart in front of them.

No one said anything, they just drew whatever form of weapon they had and got ready for the fight that was surely on their hands.

"Someone say my name?" A voice asked sarcastically and Annabeth whipped around in shock at Percy's sudden appearance. He was standing behind everyone, green eyes wary and cold, body rigid, riptide which was now a gleaming black colour sat in his hands.

"Perseus" the other man spat, raising his sword, "Glad you could join us, our patron did a lot to get you here" And Annabeth watched as Percy walked forward, ignoring everyone and brushed past Annabeth, or rather pushed past her which almost sent her tumbling.

"Patron?" Percy snapped back and then a look of realisation dawned on his face, "Oh Gaia you mean? Yes, I've heard a lot about her, mind introducing us? Always wanted to meet queen hag" Percy replied sarcastically, his stance wide as if preparing for battle.

"Oh don't worry you'll meet her when the time is right but for now… now it's time to cut you down to size" One said, a smirk forming on his lips. Suddenly, a force field sprung up between the whole of the camp and Percy – invisible to the eye but everyone could feel its power, especially Annabeth. She stumbled backwards, being closest to the wall and all, she got electrocuted. Letting out a wince she held her hand up, feeling the pain spreading through her veins.

Percy glanced back quickly at her, like he was checking she was okay and Annabeth thought the pain of the electrocution was definitely worth it – just to see Percy worry again, even if it was only for a moment.

"Now it's just us… let's get down to business" The shorter one claimed and they both circled Percy like a predator does to prey and that sent shivers up Annabeths spine – she knew Percy was strong but these guys seemed to have the power of Gaia on their side and that was never good.

"Business? What business? I have no idea who the hell you are and I'm not in the mood" Percy replied darkly, eyes like the devil.

"Like I said before, we're going to cut you down to size" The brown haired one said and then they charged. Both of the strange men ran at Percy from different ends and Annabeth watched in fear as they raised their swords, aiming directly for his lower back – exactly where his Achilles spot was.

Percy ducked, thankfully, and managed to kick one of the men away, sending him flying backwards so he landed on the ground painfully. All Annabeth could do was watch in terror as Percy sidestepped another sword aimed at his lower back and punch the man square in the jaw, sending him sprawling.

Unfortunately, while Percy had just fought one man off the other one had managed to get up and charged at Percy again, his sword high. Percy turned around and this erupted into a full blown sword fight, swords clanging, sparks flying and the one man that wasn't fighting began to chant in some language Annabeth didn't recognise and suddenly, another wide crack opened up directly beneath Percy's feet, trapping his ankle in the ground.

Annabeths heart stopped as she saw what was happening. The one that was chanting sprinted forward, sword outstretched as if he was going to slash something… and that something was Percy's only weak spot – his Achilles heel.

"PERCY" she screamed in warning but it was too late. The man swiped out, cutting across Percy's lower back making blood seep from the wound.

"No, PERCY… PERCY" Annabeth sobbed, trying to race forward but the barrier wouldn't allow her. Percy's face morphed into pain and soon a pain wrenching scream tore its way through his gaping mouth before he collapsed into a heap on the ground, his whole body shaking.

The two figures just looked down at their victory and Annabeth wanted nothing more than to rip their heads off but she was more focused on Percy and how he was shaking and crying and sweating and bleeding – all at the same time. She watched in terror and grief as Percy's eyes fluttered shut, but not before sending her a look which clearly said 'I'm sorry'.
