"This is what we're going to do," Bonnie said as they all sat together. Elena looked physically tired and was as pale as a sheet. She had been training again, and it wasn't easy-Her 'powers' were taking every ounce of strength she had. Damon was holding Elena's hand, and Kol and Victoria were sipping blood as Elle ran around.

"Greta made it clear that she can only set fifteen people free-There is a loophole to every spell, however there can't be more than fifteen people out tonight. The others still need Klaus's mark."

"I can help," Victoria said. "I don't think it is a good idea to escape tonight. He'll follow me for sure…" She said, looking at everyone else. "He'll suspect that Ellie and I have been working with you and if he finds Ellie…he'll hurt her," She concluded. "Take Ellie. That way, we can say that you helped her escape." She turned to Damon, "Ellie is just a girl and he knows that. It's obvious that she can't think of this plan by herself. If I disappear as well…he'll suspect that I was part of this and he'll hurt me by hurting Ellie."

She sighed. "Look, I can help you if I stay here. I can tell you what's going on-It is best if you go tonight-and then you, Bonnie, you can ask for the witches' help and they can get us all out-they can kill Klaus."

"She's right, Elena," Bonnie took Elena's hand and squeezed it reassuringly. "It will only be a few days until the other witches arrive. I've already sent the message-they're on their way." She cleared her throat and turned to Damon. "I know where the seal is. There are guards there, and we have to work together."

Bonnie turned to Victoria. "Victoria, you'll be needed in this part. Last time, there were two-Make up an excuse, a story, scream for help-anything to get the guards' attention. You are the least suspected, since you're keeping up appearances. Meanwhile, I can do an invisibility spell to keep us invisible-It's going to last for about five minutes, enough to get to the seal."

Bonnie looked around and they all nodded.
"What about Elena?" Kol asked all of a sudden. "She hasn't done her part yet-After all, this is all about taking down my brother and ending this madness. I don't want to unleash hell on earth-I am not this crazy for dominance. We'll find another way-This is just an unfair war."

"I know," Bonnie said. "This is torture for both species."

Bonnie turned to Elena. "You're not strong enough to help take down Klaus yet-But it is important that you keep on training once we're out."

Kol nodded. "I have a house you can stay in until Elena is ready."

"Good," Bonnie continued. "In the meantime, there are about eleven other people whom I intend to free tonight. I will take care of that part-I told them to meet me near the hall. Technically I'm a slave too so no one will suspect a thing. Victoria has been covering for me these days, saying that I was helping her…"

"What about Stefan?" Elena asked, cringing.

"Klaus is gone so technically he's in charge," Victoria said, "But he's busy doing what Klaus left-Finding a formula to survive without human blood."

Elena's blood ran cold, her teeth clenched together-She still couldn't understand why they had this kind of hate inside of them. Why they wanted to be feared. Without knowing, Elena focused on the little lamp on the table and in a few seconds it broke to pieces.

They all gasped, but Bonnie understood. "Elena, I know you're hurt, but you have to control your emotions…" She spoke gently. "You can't risk hurting anyone."

Elena took a deep breath as Damon squeezed her hand.

"There should be no complications," Bonnie said. "We have exactly two minutes until the seal closes again."

Elena's nerves were tight as drum. She was done waiting, she wanted to go back to her home, to her life, and she wanted everyone here to be free.

"I can hear your heart beating Elena," Damon said, coming behind her and rubbing her shoulders, "It's giving me a headache."

"I'm sorry," Elena said, "I'm just scared."

"You don't have to be, Elena…" He kissed her cheek. "We'll be okay. Bonnie's doing the invisibility spell. The others are ready…everything will go fine."

"That's it," Bonnie finally announced. "We have exactly five minutes. No one will be able to see us," She explained, "Stick together-The seal is this way."

"Looks like Victoria's done her part well," Damon whispered in Elena's ear when they saw the clear area.

Bonnie smiled. "It's almost six. I talked to Greta today-The seal should be opened at six." There was slight desperation in her voice, almost panic, but that quickly turned into relief when she felt Greta's powers. At that moment, the invisibility spell disappeared, leaving them exposed.

"Quick," Bonnie said, "We don't have much time."

The seal finally opened fully-a small shaft in the rocks- and the other eleven, one by one, forced themselves out.

It was when it was Damon's turn that the trouble started.

There was screaming, and suddenly there were many people coming to their direction, running in hope that they'll make it out.

Elena knew that something went terribly wrong.

"Hurry up!" Bonnie said as the final child struggled to get out.

"Take Ellie," Elena screamed all of a sudden, handing the girl to Damon. "Take her, now!"

"Elena, what's wrong?" Damon asked in panic seeing Elena turn as white as a sheet.

What he didn't notice was Stefan, who was now using his vampire speed, struggling to push through all those people.

"Elena get out!" Damon yelled, urging her to go in first, "We barely have fifty seconds left!"

"You promised! Take Ellie and get out!" Elena's determination turned into rage, and within a few seconds, chaos filled the place. The rocks started to vibrate, almost as if they were in an earthquake, and there were ear piercing screams.

"Go, Damon!" Bonnie urged, "Now!"

"I'll be right behind you, Damon!" Elena screamed, urging him to go, and he forced himself out as quickly as he could, with Bonnie following him swiftly.

But Elena didn't.

The last thing Damon saw before the seal finally closed again was his brother's hands on Elena, taking her away from him once more.

There was a slight push, and Damon found himself practically being thrown out of what it seemed like a cave, with Ellie landing safely on his chest.

But Damon wasn't focusing.

"No!" He screamed, placing his hands on the wall, where the shaft had just closed, "Elena! No!"

There were fourteen people in all-Everyone had made it out, except for her.

"No!" He screamed again, "Elena! Are you there? Answer me!"

"I-I don't u-understand…" Bonnie whimpered as she got onto her feet, "Where are we?"

But Damon didn't pay attention, as he used his vampire strength to break the rocks-She had to be there!

"No! Damon, stop!" Bonnie screamed, "It's all in vain! She's not in there! I don't understand…" She looked at Damon, "Kol! Kol's not here! He said that he'll be waiting for us when we leave. Kol can leave whenever he please, right? Why isn't he here?"

Bonnie's eyes filled with tears and she felt lost.

"We're not in the right place…" Damon said, "We can't be! Elena was supposed to get out, Bonnie! And she didn't! I have to go back. I can't leave her there!"

"Damon, you have to calm down…" Bonnie urged him, "For her sake. For your own sake! I can't…I don't know where we are! This wasn't supposed to happen!"

"I shouldn't have allowed this…" Damon cried out, "I should've let her go in first…"

"But she didn't want that!" Bonnie screamed, "She wanted you to save yourself. She wanted you to save Ellie!"

At that, Damon stopped. Because Bonnie was right, Elena wanted this. Elena wanted them to be safe.

"What are we going to do now?" He asked her quietly this time. "These people…they are scared, much more scared than we are…" He looked around them, there were women, men, and even young teenagers, who were confused, hurt, and hungry.

"I can't locate us," Bonnie explained, "That is what frightens me…It's like we're in a place that doesn't exist on any map!"

"What does that mean?" Damon urged, "What are you not telling me?"

"Damon, this place is like a safe house…" Bonnie explained, "It has to be! We're in a place where they cannot hurt us anymore. This is a place built by the witches to help people who were being hunted by vampires. It's like a secret place, which appears to only those in need."

"But I don't need any protection!" Damon shouted, overwhelmed by rage. "I want to go back and save Elena. I didn't ask to be protected!"

"Damon, there is a reason for everything!" Bonnie raised her voice, "You have to calm down, and you have to focus. I'll send for help, and the witches will find us! But other than that, no one can help us! It's up to the witches!"

She took a deep breath. "We were sent here for a reason, Damon. We are being protected and we must not go against nature's wishes!"

"I don't give a fuck about nature!"

"Damon, stop!" Bonnie touched his shoulders. "You're not thinking straight. You have to have faith. Elena's going to be okay. But we have to wait."

"I'm scared for her, Bonnie…"

"Shh. I know, Damon. I know."
