Elena was feeling weak. She couldn't even raise her head now, and her vision was blurry. Stefan had thrown her over his shoulder and they were now walking towards the dark room that she feared. It was the unknown, she hated the unknown.

Stefan then picked her up and placed her roughly on the stretcher in the middle of the room, and strapped her tightly.

"So, we learnt that sweet little Elena is in fact, very special," Klaus smirked. "However…I can see that your powers have exhausted you. Tell me, who trained you? Where have you been all this time?"

"She won't talk," Stefan said. "I can't get her to talk. And she can't be compelled."

"That is because you don't use the right techniques," Klaus smirked, and clapped his hands. In an instant, the door opened revealing a girl, who was about thirteen years old and one who was about five.

"Do you see them, Elena?" Klaus taunted as the poor girl tried desperately to raise her head. "These girls are five and thirteen years old respectively. This is how it's going to work, Elena. Apparently, you don't ind feeling pain, so instead, everytime you don't answer I'm going to hurt them. If you persist, I'll kill them in front of you, and if you continue being stubborn…Then I won't hesitate to kill every child here. Imagine, Elena, you will be responsible for their deaths."

Tears started to stream down Elena's cheeks.

"I don't wish to hurt anyone," Klaus said. "So please, cooperate, and everyone will go back to their rooms in one piece. But don't dare for a second, think that I won't do it. I would do it in a heartbeat."

"So," He said again. "Question number one. Where have you been all this time? Last I saw you, you were in a coma."

Elena pursed her lips.

Klaus sighed. "Stefan, I don't think that Elena is taking us seriously. Please, demonstrate."

Before Elena had the chance to scream, Stefan's fangs where in the thirteen year old's neck.

"No! Stop!" Elena yelled. "Please!"

Klaus motioned 'stop' to Stefan. "Yes, Miss Gilbert?"

"There's a room here," Elena said between sobs. "We were hiding."

"We? Who?"

"Damon and I," Elena lied.

"There were more people," Klaus roared. "Don't lie to me, girl!"

"And Bonnie," Elena said, hoping he'll believe her this time. "She helped us set up the plan to escape. She went in a trance and talked to Greta. She told her that she could keep the seal open for two minutes, and that fifteen people can get out."

Klaus circled her in a manner of a predator stalking its prey. "Where are they now?"

"I don't know," Elena said, shaking. "We didn't get to that part. We were supposed to stick together and find a way back to town."

"Back to town?" Klaus bit on his fingernails. "I'm not stupid, Elena. They're telling the authorities, aren't they?"

"No," Elena said, "I don't think so. Damon's a vampire. I don't think they're going to the anti-vampire organizations."

"If you're lying to me..." He hissed.

"I'm not lying," Elena lied again. "I don't know where they are."

Klaus clapped his hands again and the two children were dragged out.

He then came to stand in front of Elena and leant on her. "I hope so," He said, his breath caressing her neck. "Because if you are…" He ran his hands down her body, smirking. "Your life isn't the only thing I'll take."

"I did it!" Bonnie exclaimed, "The witches got my signal. They are coming for us, Damon!"

Damon smiled at Bonnie. "I told you you could do it. Klaus is going to lose, Bonnie. The witches will tell the authorities and they'll work together to get rid of this place…Those people can be reunited with their loved ones again."

Bonnie nodded. "Yes. And we are safe here-Klaus cannot get to us. The witches will come here and we can finally end all this. Elena can get back to her family."

At that, Damon paused. Of course. Elena's family. Because Elena had family before he had kidnapped her for his own, selfish gains. Elena had a life.

It was hard for him to remember that but he couldn't help but feel slightly upset that when this was all said and done, she was probably going to return to her family, instead of him. That's how it should be anyway; with people who would never dare think about hurting her. He wouldn't-but he would have.

"She forgave you, you know," Bonnie said, touching his hands. "She told me that she was with you all this time. She told me everything. The entire town was searching for her, Damon. But she forgave you, and she loves you."

"And I love her," Damon said. "But sometimes…I feel guilty. If I hadn't taken her away, she would've been safe. She would've been happy, living a normal life."

"We can't change the past, Damon," Bonnie sighed.

"I know."

"Let me tell you something, Elena," Klaus said as he ran a hand down her cheek. "If vampires rule this world, everything will be perfect. There will be no wars, no rules, nothing. But you? You humans claim you're not monsters yet you destroy everything in sight. The only regret I have is that I cannot find a way for us to survive without having to use you fools."

Klaus smirked. "But do you know what I'm going to do when I do find a way?"

He looked at her, tracing her lips with his finger. He then leant down and kissed her lips softly, and Elena wanted to throw up. "I'm going to gas everyone here, and then I'll go to the outside world where I'll kill everyone. That's what I've been doing these past few days, plotting my revenge against you humans. Your very existence makes me sick."

"My siblings are fools," He added. "They want peace. But I don't want that-I want power. And the human race mocks me and reminds me that I'll have to live with you forever. When I first opened this place, you humans decided to come here out of your own free will. For money, for food…can you see how pathetic you are? But this will be over now, Elena. I know you're the guardian and I know you'll try to kill me. But guess what, you can't. Because I'll be the one to kill you first."

With that, Klaus and Stefan left the room.

"They are near," Bonnie announced and took Damon's arm. "They are going to know you're a vampire. Let me do the talking."

"Okay," He nodded his head. "I mean no harm to anyone. I just want to get Elena back safely."

Bonnie nodded in understanding. "Please keep everyone back."

She moved forwards and put her hands in front of her. She felt power, and then she looked at Damon. "This is a barrier. This area cannot be seen by any human, vampire or anyone whatsoever. I can feel the witches on the other side, and we shall break the seal," She explained.

A bolt of lightning came out of Bonnie's hands as she chanted a spell in Latin. Damon held little Elle in his arms as she continued to chant. After a few minutes, Damon could see a lot of people on the other side, armed.

"Sister," One of them greeted Bonnie, and they embraced. "I'm glad you're okay."

"Thank you, my sisters," Bonnie said. "Thank you for coming to our rescue. These are the few humans who made it out of the Forbidden Haven."

"The Forbidden Haven? I thought it was a myth!" Someone in the crowd exclaimed.

"No," Bonnie said. "It exists. There are thousands of people there, and they need our help. There's a guardian there as well who didn't make it out, but she can help us…We just have to work together."

"What about him?" Someone pointed at Damon. "He's a vampire!"

"Wait," Bonnie said before anyone could get a wooden stake out, "He's on our side. He was the one who helped us out."

"He's a vampire, Bonnie!" One of them exclaimed, a look of disgust plastered over her face.

"It doesn't matter," Bonnie said angrily. "We're wasting time!"

Then, a strawberry blonde came standing in front of the crowd. "Bonnie…Is Elena in this place? Where is she?"

Bonnie looked at her with compassionate eyes as Damon tried not to let guilt bite him like a rabid dog. Of course. This had to be Elena's aunt. "Yes," She finally said. "She sacrificed herself so that we can get out. But we're going to get her back now. If we work together."

"There's a house a few minutes away from here," The first witch said. "It is designed to protect people in cases of war. There are up to thirty rooms and it is equipped with weapons and things that matter. We can go there and we can plan everything there…"

"Yes," Bonnie agreed. "The place disappeared when we got out, and every human who enters the Forbidden Haven is blindfolded, so we have to find the entrance using other ways. I hope that magic can help us."

"Magic always does." She smiled.

"It's true," Bonnie said. "There has to be someone who was out of the Forbidden Haven. Since I'm a witch, this place protected me and everyone with me because it sensed my fear. But the humans who get out…I don't know where they end up in."

"Bonnie, no humans get out of the Forbidden Haven," The first witch said.

"No," Damon suddenly realized. "There was a girl. Tara Moyer. She had permission to leave because her owner died. I remember Elena talking to her. She said that she could get out, because her owner wanted to set her free. She was the one who decided to stay…We have to talk to her."

"But how?" Bonnie said. "If she's there…"

"Magic," The witch said. "We can talk to her in the form of a dream or a hallucination. She can tell us the place she ends up in after she gets out."

"Do you honestly believe that she knows?" Bonnie said, "I think that they compel her to forget where she is when she returns. It doesn't make sense-They blindfold humans when they bring them in. I don't think they are stupid enough to let Tara say where she is."

"Good point…" Damon agreed sadly.

"It doesn't matter," Bonnie said. "We'll sit together and we'll find and get everyone back. I promise that."

"I lost my daughter three years ago," A woman said. "She vanished in the

thin air. Could she be...?"

"She could," Bonnie said. "Lots of missing persons were in fact there...There are even young children. But if we plan this out carefully…we'll win. Aisha, please…lead us to the house."

Elena didn't know how long she had been there, however her lips were dry and she was very thirsty. She felt like death. She couldn't understand why her powers didn't work out the way she planned. She was still weak and the thought was making her restless.

"Elena?" She heard a voice and she raised her head.

"Victoria?"

"What are you doing here? I thought you made it out!" She said, panicked.

"They caught me," Elena said, letting tears roll down her cheek. "The others…they are fine. They made it out."

Victoria breathed out a sigh of relief. "Ellie?"

"She's with Damon."

"I'm sorry, Elena," Victoria said. "I thought that you made it out and then a girl told me that you were with Stefan…I panicked…"

"It's okay," Elena said. "As long as they are fine."

She tried to move but found out that she couldn't.

"What's wrong?"

"Stefan. He beat me up badly…I used my powers and passed out. Look,

Victoria…He can't see you talking to me. I didn't say anything about you or Elle. You have to get out of here or you can get in trouble. The others are coming back for us, but you have to act like you don't know anything…"

"I understand," Victoria said. "But I can't leave you here…" She moved closer to untie her.

"No, Victoria," Elena stopped her. "Go. We can't get caught. I'll do whatever they need me to do. Damon will come back for me. For us."

"As you can see, every room is barred with iron bars and you can find supplies of vervain and wooden stakes," Aisha explained. "We will be training you to defend yourselves."

"This is what I like to call the planning room," Aisha continued as she lead them to a huge room. "There are more weapons and this is where we set our plans in motion. My sisters and I will come up with a plan that can help us all. Bonnie, the map, please."

Bonnie put a map on the table and opened it.

"This is a magical compass," Bonnie explained, "It locates everyone and every place. We can get a general area of where the Forbidden Haven is. Damon, I trust you have something of Elena's?"

"Yes," Damon said, taking out a keychain with the letter E. "This was hers. When she was with me…I took it and I kept it in my pocket."

"What do you mean, when she was with you?" Jenna yelled running towards Damon's direction, "Are you…Are you the one who took my little girl from me?"

Damon couldn't stomach to answer her.

"Answer me, you bastard!" Jenna screamed, "She's in there because of you, you son of a bitch!"

Sheriff Forbes took a step towards Damon, but Bonnie stopped her. "We can't change the past, Jenna. But I assure you that Damon means Elena no harm. We can't waste any more time in pointless arguing. What's done is done…what matters now is that we get Elena and the others back."

"And we will," Damon said, turning to Jenna. "This is my mistake. And I'm going to fix it. I promise you, Jenna. You'll have Elena back, we both will."
