A/N: Huge thanks to my beta Cdaye8184!
Just one chapter to go and it's a wrap up.
Please check out my new story "Bound To You", my first ALL HUMAN story!
"Okay," Bonnie said as they sat together around the table. "Basically this is it-We are currently here and the compass is pointing towards Mystic Falls."
"This isn't right," Sheriff Forbes said. "If the Forbidden Haven is in Mystic Falls, we would've known."
"Well, the compass is pointing towards Mystic Falls…" Bonnie mumbled. "I'd say the compass is right. A witch must've used a good spell back in the day to cover up the location. It's pretty simple to do."
"We know the general location," Jenna stated. "It's still not enough."
"It's the closest we can get," Aisha continued. "But I'll try and contact Tara Moyer, maybe she can help us."
"Are you strong enough, Aisha?" Bonnie asked, concerned.
"Yes. I am," She replied. "I'm going to appear to her as a vision. It's completely safe to both of us. I need your help, though."
Aisha took Bonnie's hands. "I need you to hold my hands and chant with me. This way, we are connecting both of our powers."
"I can do that," Bonnie agreed.
"Good," Aisha replied. "It won't take long."
The girls started to chant as Aisha closed her eyes, allowing her magic to guide her to Tara, who was in her bedroom.
"Tara," Aisha spoke. "Can you see me?"
"What is it? What's going on?" Damon asked, and one of the other witches replied, "She obviously found Tara. We cannot hear what they are saying."
Aisha spoke for a few minutes, asking Tara if she knew the location. "Tell the guardian…Tell Elena that we're coming," She continued. "Tell her to be strong and to focus."
And then there was dead silence. Damon looked from Bonnie to Aisha, confusion obviously settling in.
"What did she say?" Bonnie ask when Aisha opened her eyes.
"She doesn't know the location," Aisha said sadly. "But she gave us a hint. She said that from she was she could smell seawater, and that there is a white statue."
"Of course!" Sheriff Forbes exclaimed, "The Founder's beach. There is Jonathan Gilbert's statue."
"I can't believe it," Jenna said. "She's been in Mystic Falls all this time?"
"There is no way we could've known," Damon answered. "Not even when I was possessed. I can't remember ever entering," He turned to Bonnie.
"It's alright, Damon," Bonnie said. "We have to have faith."
"There is at least a two hour drive to Mystic Falls," Aisha said, her voice loud and clear. "We aren't that far, but we can't waste any more time."
"Victoria!"
Victoria turned to find a human girl running towards her.
"It's Tara, yes?" Victoria answered.
"Yes. I know everything," Tara said, "I know you're helping us. Where is Elena? I have to talk to her…"
"She's in the room…" Victoria whispered, "You know you can't go there, Tara…"
"Why is she there?" Tara said, panicked. "You know that no one gets out of there alive. I know what they do to them there. They experiment on them like guinea pigs and then they bleed them dry…"
"Tara, it's okay, they won't get that far this time," Victoria said. "Tell me, what is it?"
"A witch came to me in some sort of vision," Tara explained. "She told me to tell Elena that they are coming and they told me to tell her to stay strong. I think they are planning war. It was a young witch, I think she was friends with Elena."
"Thank you, Tara," Victoria said, a small smile appearing on her face. "I'll give Elena the message."
Victoria turned on her heels, her blonde wavy hair bouncing as she used her vampire speed. She carefully stepped into the room where Elena was in, and after seeing that there was no one else she ran towards Elena.
"Elena…it's me," She said as the girl opened her eyes.
"Victoria? What are you doing back here?"
"It's Tara," Victoria said excitedly. "A witch appeared to her in a vision. They are coming, Elena. Bonnie, Damon and the others made it out and they are coming to rescue everything…"
"Now this is an interesting turn of events," Another voice said.
Victoria turned towards the voice, but she already knew who it was.
"Turning against your race, huh, Victoria?" Stefan said with a smirk. "And you, Elena…If Klaus finds out you're lying to him-which, he will by the way-he's going to make you suffer so much that you'll beg for death."
"No, Stefan, please," Victoria pleaded. "Just end this. You can start all over…"
"Hmm, I don't want to do that," Stefan added with a smirk. "I won't betray Klaus. Not when he promised he'll give me my beloved Katherine back."
"He's playing you!" Victoria yelled, "No one can bring Katherine back from the dead! Even if he makes the witches wake Katherine up…It won't last! Dead is dead!"
"You have no idea what Klaus and his people can do," Stefan spat. "And when he hears about this you're all good as dead."
Victoria tried to stop him but it was all in vain. He had already used his vampire speed to deliver the message. They were as good as dead now...
"They are coming for us!" Stefan said with a growl. "They have witches and the authorities on their side. Elena was lying…They are possibly on their way!"
"No," Klaus said, his eyes burning. "It can't happen this way..."
"We have to get out of here…" Stefan was truly afraid. He couldn't get caught and risk getting thrown away somewhere for all the horrible things he did. And they would know everything that he'd done. There would be no escape for him.
"I can't," Klaus growled, "I haven't found the way to get rid of humans yet…"
Stefan looked at him in shock. "Even when you might possibly be minutes from death…you still think about power?"
"I will always think about power!" Klaus roared. "Don't you understand? That's all that matters. I'll think about power until my very last breath on this earth!"
"Then I can't do this anymore," Stefan said. "My life means more to me than power! This is stupid!"
"If you leave now, our deal's off!" Klaus threatened.
"So be it," Stefan replied. "I won't sacrifice myself for a fucking blood formula that might not even work."
But he barely took two steps, because Klaus drove a stake through his back. "You should be thankful that I didn't drive it to your heart…" Klaus smirked, "You're a coward, Stefan. So I'm going to leave you to die with the rest of them. With the human race. Gassed, and eventually burnt."
"Don't do this…" Stefan begged.
"You should've chosen my side. I could've gave you life. I could have gave you power! Now you're nothing." Klaus smirked, tightening the stake so that Stefan was pinned and had no chance of moving. "Now you can die as a coward."
Using his vampire speed, Klaus ran to the room where he was keeping Elena captive, however he found no one there. The room was completely empty but he decided to keep searching-He wasn't going to give up. It was then that he heard footsteps and saw Elena running away from one of the backdoors.
"James!" He yelled from where he was, "Stop them!"
It happened too quickly, then. Victoria was held against James's chest as Elena found herself cornered and finally into Klaus's arms.
"Just where do you think you're going? I'm not done with you yet…" He said with a smirk. "James, lock Victoria up in the dungeons. I'll deal with her later." He turned to Elena. "You, sweetheart…we're going to put you to good use."
And with that, he had her tied up on the stretcher again, only this time, he stuck a needle to her arm.
"It was stupid of me to be honest…" Klaus smirked. "You're the guardian. Your blood can destroy me but on the other hand, it is also special. I should've figured out that if I come up with this formula…I can finally get rid of the entire human race. I'll keep every guardian in this world hostage and they will live to serve us while the entire human race becomes extinct."
He knelt in front of her and looked at her. "You're beautiful, Elena. Such a shame you have to die. But life sucks, does it? At least the vampires you love so much will have food for eternity. I just have to make sure that I have the right proportion…I don't want to overdose my precious race now, do I?" He smirked at her and arranged the needle as she let out a cry.
"Aw, I'm sorry princess," He said with a pouty face. "Poor little Elena doesn't even have the strength to fight back. I almost pity you."
He smirked at her before he climbed on top of her. Her arms were tied tightly above her head and she was strapped from the waist, so she couldn't even fight back. He breathed on her neck and smiled, licking the area and inching slowly down until he reached her breasts. "You taste delicious, Elena…"She felt him undoing the first three buttons of her dress and his hands ghosted inside, cupping her breast through her bra. "I wish I had more time to enjoy you, my dear. But, seeing as I'm quite busy…I'll have to satisfy myself by a few kisses," And with that, he kissed her hungrily. Elena tried to bite his lip but he responded by biting her own, using his fangs. Blood started to pour out and Elena let out a cry as he ran his tongue along her lower lip and sucked.
"Shh, behave," He told her. "It'll be over soon, princess."
"This is it," Bonnie screamed at last when they finally reached the statue. "This is the place. The entrance is somewhere here near the beach."
"The question is where…" Damon said, trying to focus. "Look, the place echoed. That has to count for something, right?"
"Of course it does," Aisha said in realization. "Look! There are caves. The entrance has to be there!"
"Of course," Bonnie exclaimed, "It has to be!"
"Come on!" Damon yelled as he headed toward what they thought were entrances to the cave. "We don't have anytime to waste!"
"This is it," Aisha said. "The time of proof has come. This is no longer a training session-It is kill or be killed. We are going in there and we are going to fight back to get the ones we love. Do not show any compassion. If vampires surrender, vervain them and bring them with you as prisoners as they can help us find the other missing persons. If not, kill them."
"Try to save as many humans as you can," Aisha turned to Alaric, a vampire hunter.
"Yes, of course," Alaric said. "After years of intensive training it's time to proof that we can do this, and we will."
"Get the children out first," Damon begged. "I can't stand to see more kids getting hurt because of my race. I'll rescue Elena."
"We'll try to save as many lives as we possibly can," Bonnie assured him.
"Not good…" Klaus said tossing the blood away as if he was spitting out water.
"Please, Klaus, let me go," Elena begged, "You're going to kill me and you won't even get that formula. Just please let me go."
"Why would I do that?" Klaus smirked. "I will never back down, Elena."
"I can already feel the magic that surrounds the place," Aisha said, her voice shaky. "The poor souls who lost their lives here and those who can't find peace. They'll find peace soon enough. I can promise that." She stopped in front of one of the walls. "This is it. This is the entrance. I can feel it."
She chanted a spell and a bolt of lightning hit the wall, making a loud explosion which echoed around the walls of the caves. In an instance, the door turned to dust.
"Janet, Christa…" Aisha yelled, "Ask Greta's help and keep the seal down as long as you can. If Klaus dies, everyone will be set free-But as long as he's alive we're going to need a spell to bring the seal down. Work with Greta and make sure that you keep everyone safe-Send them to where Bonnie was sent. They can't be harmed in there. Are we clear?"
"Yes," They said together.
"Bonnie, Damon," She turned to them, "We'll rescue the guardian and we have to destroy Klaus together. Alaric and the others-Search the entire place and gather everyone to safety so that when the time comes everyone gets out!"
Elena could hear everyone screaming. Despite her pain and weakness, she turned towards Klaus. "Do you hear that, Klaus? You are going to lose."
Klaus laughed. "No, Elena, you are." He smirked. "James, use the gas!"
He closed the door behind him and smirked at Elena. "Don't worry, my precious, after I'm done with you you'll join them as well."
"No! Don't!" Elena yelled in panic, "You're going to kill everyone! Innocent lives!"
"Shh…" Klaus said, "It won't take long now."
By the time Damon and the others reached the hallway, everyone was coughing like hags. Damon panicked-This wasn't expected!
"Gas!" He yelled, "Gas! They are going to kill everyone!"
"No!" Aisha yelled, the gas filling her nostrils. "No!"
"Hurry up!" Alaric cried out, "There isn't much time. You have to perform a spell!"
"I can't!" She yelled, "I'm not strong enough!"
"Aisha, you are!" Bonnie yelled as she began to cough. "At least slow the process! We can't let these people die!"
Aisha's eyes suddenly turned black as she started to chant in Latin, desperately trying to stop this massacre. Damon had never seen such power before. There was a cloud of blackness surrounding Aisha and then the strong scent seemed to go away.
"I can't," Aisha said. "I can't stop it completely. We barely have thirty minutes. You have to move and fast!"
"Hmm, seems awfully quiet, don't you think?" Klaus said as Elena struggled to untie herself.
"You'll pay for this one, Klaus! I won't let anyone die!" Elena said as loudly as she could muster.
"I can hear them coughing…" He smirked, "Poor humans."
At that, rage suddenly took over Elena. Immense strength ran through her bloodstream and she cut the straps in half, throwing bolts of power at Klaus. "You won't win," She said, and with great courage she stepped into the gas filled hall and ran away from him, getting others to safety. "The reception!" She yelled, "They're here to rescue you! Go there!" She started to scream.
She ran, kicking down doors and getting people out of their locked rooms, trying to alert everyone. It was then that she saw a familiar blue eyed man.
"Damon?" She yelled.
"Elena!" He ran towards her, "Elena, oh my God…"
"Shh…Shh, I'm okay," she hushed him. "It's okay. We just have to get everyone to safety."
"The others are taking care of it," Damon said, taking out a mask. "Here, I found this. Take a few breaths, baby. You're shaking."
Elena inhaled softly trying to regain her breath.
"I'm okay, Damon. I have to take down Klaus. It's my fight…" She pled.
"I'm going to help you," Aisha yelled, "Come on, Elena! I can't keep the spell working much longer!"
"There are five children there!" Alaric yelled, "They are unconscious! Help me!"
"A girl has her leg stuck under the table…It fell over…I can't pull her out by myself!" Another man yelled.
Alaric felt like this was a losing battle. There were so many people who were injured. He couldn't do this!
"I told you I'm going to kill you, Klaus!" Elena screamed when they finally had Klaus cornered, but he let out an evil laugh.
"You can do whatever you want, Elena, because I've succeeded. The formula is done and my friend is already outside planning to sell it and get rid of your pathetic race!"
Elena shot bolts of power at him, making him twitch in pain. "Good always wins," She said. "Feel it. Feel the pain you made everyone feel!"
Aisha and Bonnie started to chant as Elena raised her arms and bolts of light hit him repetitively. He tried to fight back but Elena kept pressing on, her eyes turning black. The anger and hate she felt couldn't be stopped-and then, without warning, her feet left the ground, darkness overwhelming her. She continued to let her hate attack him and Klaus yelled in pain.
Elena used her fingers and motioned upwards and what happened next surprised everyone, even Damon. Klaus's own heart tore out of his chest and into the thin air, moving beneath Elena's feet. With anger in her eyes and blood dripping out of her nose, she stepped on it and it turned to dust, leaving Klaus screaming in pain. Then, Elena did the same with his face and bones, until all that was left of him was a boneless pile of undecipherable flesh.
"Say goodbye to your life, Klaus," Elena yelled, crushing his last bone-until he turned to ash.
"Fire!" One of the men yelled, "There's a fire! A vampire started it!"
"Elena, we have to get out of here!" Damon screamed seeing the love of his life curled up on the floor, weak-her eyes still black with hate. "It's over now, Elena! Don't let the darkness take over you! We have to get out of here, now!"
With great effort Elena relaxed, her eyes turning back to normal. She took Damon's hands and ran, seeing everyone running to safety. While they were running, Damon saw his brother lying on the floor.
"Stop, Elena, stop!" Damon yelled, "My brother…I can't leave him!"
Elena nodded in understanding. "I'll help you…I'll get him out!"
Damon flashed towards his brother pulling the stake out and helping him to his feet. "Stefan. Wake up. You have to run!" Damon yelled, "Wake up!"
"Oh my God…" Elena said, "Victoria! She's in the dungeons! They took her there! I'm going back for her, Damon…"
And without warning, she left him and turned away towards the smoke.
By the time Elena reached the dungeons she was desperate and out of breath. "Victoria!" She yelled as she coughed.
"Elena…" Victoria answered in between sobs. "I can't get out…the cage…it's made of vervain. There was a key but the guard took it…"
"Stay back!" Elena yelled, throwing a bolt of her power towards the cell. "That's it! Stay back!"
In an instant, the door opened however Elena fell onto the floor, unconscious. Victoria sped towards her, carrying Elena in her arms and out of the smoke.
"Damon!" Victoria yelled, "Get out of here! There was an explosion-twenty people died near the dungeons! Get out! I'll get Elena out!"
With supreme efforts, Victoria helped Elena out and ran towards the seal, coughing. "Take her…" She begged Alaric. "I'm going back for Damon…He's a friend…"
"No, you're not going anywhere," Alaric said, "Now surrender!"
"I don't mean you any harm!" Victoria said, "I'm on Elena's side! I just saved her!"
"Shut up or I'll stake you!" Alaric said tying her hands behind her back with a vervained rope.
"At least rescue Damon!"
"He's a vampire! I'm assigned to protect humans!" Alaric yelled.
"No, Alaric! This isn't fair!" Bonnie yelled as she took deep breaths into the mask, "We have to go back for them!"
"I'm sorry, Bonnie." He whispered, knowing he couldn't do it. Not even for Damon.
Without warning, Bonnie went into the caves again yelling Damon's name. However to her surprise, Damon was walking with his brother in his arms, desperately trying to find a way.
"Here, Damon, here!" Bonnie yelled. "That's it! Follow my voice!"
"Bonnie?" He yelled back.
"Yes, Damon! It's okay, you're okay. Elena's fine…" She said soothing him. "It's okay."
"Oh my God," Damon said as he finally went out and Janet and Christa lifted up the seal. "I thought…I thought that Elena…"
"Shh, she's fine…" Bonnie said, "She's just unconscious…due to the smoke…"
But when Damon went next to her he let out an ear piercing scream. "Bonnie! Can't you see, Bonnie!" He yelled, "She's not breathing! She's not breathing!"
"No…" Bonnie ran towards her friend, "She was unconscious!"
"Elena, open your eyes. Open your eyes for me sweetheart," Damon said in between tears. "Open your eyes, Elena. It's okay. I've got you…let me see those beautiful doe eyes again."
"The power must've been too much for her to bear," Aisha said, sobbing.
"Why are you standing there? Do something!" Damon yelled, "You're witches! Wake her up, please!"
"We can't… You don't get it, Damon... No power will bring somebody back. I'm so s-sorry." Bonnie said in between sobs, "She…She's gone."
"No, it can't happen…" Damon cried, tearing into his wrist. "Drink, Elena. Drink!"
"It isn't going to work," Aisha said, crying. "Damon…"
"Leave me alone!" Damon roared. "I promised her I'll protect her!"
"Shh…Damon…"
"You have to do something, Bonnie, please!" Damon cried, tears streaming down his cheeks.
"I can't…"
"Elena, please wake up…Just please… I can't live without you. I love you."
