Oh My Flipping Spirits! I'm so sorry it took so long to update! I'm such a hypocrite. I would post on peoples stories all, "UPDATE!" and I leave my story be :c. I'm redoing the last chapter. I like it, but when I reread it, I realized its not the turn I wanted. There's too much in one chapter but its also squished together. My friend Tanya is a really gifted author though. One of her stories are possibly getting published and she's only 14! Anyways, I just recently got the part of Elphaba in Youth Broadway Production of Wicked. If you know what that is, I love you ;D.
Okay, back to the story, we are taking off from Korra fainting...
She hit the ground with a hard thud. Mako did nothing but stare with wide eyes. He kneeled down and grabbed his son's wish ring and put it back in his pocket. He stayed down there and looked at the young avatar. She had no shadows under her eyes like his Korra, nor did she have the worry lines above her eyes. She did, however, have the natural pouty lip that made him feel guilty for anything he ever did in life, along with her bright blue eyes that seemed to glow with her tan skin resting cozily near them. Mako noticed as he scanned her that she had cut herself with the fall. He grinned and picked her up, careful not to wake her. He walked her towards the house and before he got to the door, Pema opened it, carrying potatoes to peel for the nights' supper. She looked at Korra with horrified eyes and dropped everything in her arms. The scarred lady looked at Mako and pointed a shaking finger at him accusingly. All the color in her face had been drained. "You-you..." Pema nearly whispered. "... killed her?" Mako looked at her with confusion. She raised her voice to a shrill scream," YOU KILLED HER! OH KORRA! YOU KILLED THE AVATAR! TENZIN! COME QUICK! DROP HER YOU MONSTER!" Some color came to Pema's face, but instead of a sand color, it was more like a tomato. Tenzin came sprinting into the doorway. Pema had tears in her angry eyes, and leaned into Tenzin's chest. Tenzin looked at Korra, and chuckled to himself. Pema turned her head to him with absolute horror pasted on her face, which only made him laugh harder. " Pema, dearest, she's breathing. She probably passed out or something. Mako, do you mind explaining what happened over tea?" Mako's face was bright red as he carried Korra in, careful to avoid eye-contact with Tenzin's crazy non-bender wife. Korra was laid down on the couch in the living room, while Tenzin invited Mako to the kitchen, where they sat at the table. Tenzin seemed very up-beat, and asked in a happy tone, " So, what happened. I want to know everything." and so Mako told the story about his happy family and life and everything he has done. He then got to the part about the night of the fight and the bearded man's face got very serious.
"-next thing I know, I'm here." He finished. Mako looked up to see Tenzin was no longer looking at him, but looking to the wall, looking like he was concentrating on something. As if sensing his eyes upon him, Tenzin looked dead straight into Mako's eyes. " When exactly did this happen?'" "Last night, well, last night 12 years from now." Tenzin's eyes turned into slits as he stood up and walked towards the living room. "Follow me." he said, never making eye contact. Mako followed them into the living room, and watched as the older man pulled a scroll off a shelf. "'Comet of Syndalin, goddess of dangerous dreams'. I believe that this is what you my have accidentally wished upon." Tenzin explained. " It is said that there is a way to regain your former lives, but it involves a series of emotional trials with those you love most. I don't know Mako, it says if you fail the trials you could disappear forever... " He said slowly. " That means the future will move on the way it is...without you there."
Mako reached into his pocket and pulled back out the wish ring and kissed it. The two were so involved in learning about the cause of the situation, they didn't notice Korra had awakened and was listening to the whole conversation. She let everything Tenzin said settle in her mind and then understood what had happened. It seemed to make sense. Korra looked up at Mako holding Raye's wish ring at his mouth and saw tears in his eyes. He spoke with the ring still at his lips. " I'm not going to let Korra go through that. She's going through enough already as it is. I just can't.." he said in a low whisper to Tenzin. Korra thought about this, an understood what had to be done. "Well, mr. Hat-trick, you don't really have a choice there. I'm going with you, and we are going to get you home to your- our family." He jumped and turned to face her, with Raye's ring still tightly held in between his fingers. He smiled and she nodded. Tenzin, on the other hand, was not going to allow that to happen. " Korra, you realize that if you do fail, he disappears and that goes for you too?" Her eyes got wide. She did not know that part, but she was supposed to be a hero and what better way to show off to Mako? She's not gonna lie to herself, he is sexy. Korra smiled her crooked smile. "Tenzin, it takes more than something like that to scare the avatar off," and her smile widened to a perfect, full smile, "-especially when it's for those I care about." Mako smiled so wide his mouth was touching his ears.
Tenzin rolled his eyes, knowing he couldn't win. He walked off, but somehow he knew that his instincts were correct.
This was not to end well.
