A/N: I know, I know, you all hate me. Starting on my trip to France through late March my life was hell and afterwards I didn't have any inspiration, but thanks to a few good friends I got my life back on track and started writing again. Now I will stop complaining about my life so you can read a new chapter for the first time in over a year.

Chapter 5: Grover and Juniper

On a warm April day, Juniper was running through the strawberry fields with Grover chasing after her. Suddenly she changed into a juniper bush and Grover ended up with a mouth full of juniper berries and the juice splattered all over his face. Juniper turned back to her humanoid form and burst out laughing at the sight of her boyfriend. The laughing ended in coughing and she had to bend over because of the power of the coughs. Grover ran to her side at pat her back. "Are you ok?" Grover asked as soon as her coughing was under control.

"Yeah, I should be fine. I just laughed a little too hard." Juniper said and smiled up at her boyfriend.

Grover thought about her response and thought it was best to trust her. "Well….ok, if you say so. Maybe we should just walk for a while," he said and she nodded. He helped her up and they began leisurely walking through the strawberry fields.

Later that day Grover and Juniper are having a picnic in the woods, consisting of mostly fruits and veggies considering both of them are vegetarians. Juniper was eating her salad when she started coughing again. Grover pat her back until her coughing spell was over and gave her some water. "Are you sure you're okay Juniper?" Grover asked.

"I'm not feeling too well, Grover. Can you just take me home?" Juniper asked after she finished drinking the water Grover had given to her.

"Yeah, of course, let me just clean up." He started cleaning up while Juniper sat off to the side against a tree. When Grover was done he walked over to Juniper. She tried to stand up but fell back down and the only reason she didn't hit her head on the tree behind her was because Grover caught her as soon as he saw her falling. He sat her back down then noticed out of the corner of his eye the black lines he could see going up her legs. "Juniper! Look at your legs! What are those black lines?"

She looked down at her legs with glazed over eyes, "Hmm, I've only seen lines like that on older nymphs that are about to die." She looked back at him "I don't want to die Grover."

Grover was stunned and slowly gained his ability to speak starting at a whisper and going until he was practically yelling, "No, no, no, no, no! You are not dying on me! I mean… we are still young… you shouldn't be dying yet… what… what would cause this?" He was reduced to tears and stuttering.

"I don't… I don't know…" she said. "Just go get Chiron, he'll know what to do."

"No, no I can't leave you. Help! Help! HELP!" Grover was bursting into tears. Connor and Travis came running into the clearing.

"What's wrong?" Connor said or was it Travis? Grover couldn't really tell with his blurry eyes and the similarities between the two.

"I… I don't know. Just go get Chiron." Grover told them.

"I'll go get him, you help Grover take her to her bush." Grover assumed Travis said this because he was the older brother.

Travis ran off and Grover picked up Juniper's arms while Connor got her legs. When they got to her bush they noticed that the branches and the small leaves of her bush also had veins of black running through them. Seconds later they saw Travis running towards them through the woods but there was no Chiron. "I couldn't find him. He wasn't at the Big House or the archery range. He might be at Olympus."

"What are we going to do?" Grover said while looking down at Juniper who had fallen unconscious a couple minutes ago.

"Ummmm…. Well we could… Ummmm… Get one of the Apollo kids!" Connor said. Travis and Grover both stared at him. "Right! I'll go get one of the Apollo kids." Connor ran off. He came back a few minutes later with Will Solace, the Apollo cabin counselor.

Will looked at Juniper. "Can someone go get Katie? I might need her help with this one."

"Yeah, sure," Connor said and ran off again.

Will started shaking Juniper gently to wake her up. She slowly woke up and suddenly started coughing again. Will padded her back and gave her some of the emergency drinking water he pulled out from the medical bag he brought with him. He also gave her a couch drop and two pill that looked like your average cold and cough pills except for the fact that they were golden. Connor got back with Katie and she started doing some weird spell on Juniper's bush which didn't seem to be doing anything. Juniper slowly got up and grinned at Grover. Suddenly Juniper, Connor, Travis, Will, and Katie all shouted, "April fools!"

Grover eyes widened as he just stared at them. He tried to say something many times but they all just came out as mumbled half words. Everybody besides Grover burst out laughing. Grover finally regained the ability to speak, "Wait, what? You mean this was all a joke?" He had a slightly annoyed tone in his voice.

"Yep, and your girlfriend was the one who came up with it too," Connor said.

"But… but how? I mean with the black lines and the coughing and the fainting," Grover questioned.

"Food coloring, my friend, food coloring. As for the coughing and fainting, turns out Juniper here is a pretty good actress." Travis said.

Grover looked at Katie and Will, who were still snickering. "

"Had to make it seem real didn't we? And no the pills won't hurt her. They are placebo pills so they don't even do anything" Will replied.

"Well this is just great. For April fools I get to think the love of my life is dying." As soon as he noticed what he said he covered his mouth with his hands and everybody went silent.

"Your what now?" Juniper questioned, not believing she heard him right. Neither of them noticed that the others had quietly sneaked away.

"Uh… Um… yeah... I love you?" Grover said nervously while rubbing the back of his neck.

"Aww, Grover, I love you too." Juniper said as she threw her arms around his neck and kissed him.

A/N: Yeah I know cheesy ending again. Again, sorry it took so long to write and upload this. Hopefully the next few will be longer. I already have the characters I'm going to base the next few chapters off of, then I will be taking suggestions for new couples. I will explain the guidelines for those when I get there and I also have a few more ideas for new stories so I will be working on those as well. Please review and constructive criticism is always welcome.
