"See? The movie wasn't that bad," Shego said with a slight laugh.

"It wasn't bad for you! I nearly had a heart attack every five minutes!"

The green skinned woman chuckled, "Well, it's over now. Come on, let's go grab a bite to eat. I know this great little Vietnamese shop. They have THE best soup I've ever tasted."

Kim raised an eyebrow. "You're actually complimenting something? I'm shocked."

"Don't be. There are some things that I truly," Shego made eye contact with Kim, "love." She slowly grinned. "I'll show you this place. It's one of the few things that I love. Second on my list."

Kim gulped and tried to calm her nerves. "Oh really? And what's the first?"

Shego smirked but didn't reply. Instead she took the redhead's hand in her own and then they started their walk to the restaurant.

The ex-villain glanced over at Kim numerous times, never getting caught by the redhead, but catching Kim taking a peek at her every now and then. She noticed the girl shiver slightly and immediately pulled off her jacket, wrapping it around the girl without asking.

Kim's eyes widened a bit in surprise, "Shego… what?"

"You looked cold," the green skinned woman said with a shrug. "It wouldn't be right to let you freeze when I'm a natural heat source and don't need a jacket."

The redhead pulled the jacket against herself a little tighter, soaking in the warmth, allowing it to seep into her skin and to warm her chilled bones.

Shego took the slight distraction of the younger girl to her advantage and wrapped an arm around the girl's waist. "You should still be able to feel the heat through the jacket. It'll warm you up even faster."

The ex-villain did a little leap of joy inside when Kim didn't pull away, even leaning into it a little.

As they arrived at the Vietnamese shop, the store front a little run down looking, but otherwise seemingly ok, Shego held the door open so Kim could get into the warm building first.

When the hostess caught sight of Shego, she immediately perked up.

"Ms. Go! How great of you to stop by! It's been so long!" She then looked over at Kim and asked, "Your girlfriend?"

Shego wore a light smile, "No, she isn't my girlfriend."

Kim's heart caught in her throat and she didn't know why she felt so disappointed.

Then Shego leaned in and whispered, "Not yet, anyways." She made it seem as if she was trying to whisper, but she made sure to say it just loud enough for the redhead to hear.

In an instant the lump was gone and Kim could breathe again. She didn't know what was going on so she shrugged it off, decided to figure out her feelings later.

The two were led to a booth close to the back of the store in a secluded corner. The lights were dim in the area and candles were lit.

As they took their seat, they placed their drink orders and settled into the booth.

Kim shrugged off the jacket and tried to hand it back to Shego.

Shrugging, the green skinned woman replied, "Keep it for now. We still have to walk in the cold to get back home. You'll probably still need it."

"Thanks," Kim replied, finally feeling a bit more comfortable with how Shego was treating her. "So then," she started, leaning on her hands, "you take your dates here often I presume?"

Shego chuckled, "Nope."

The redhead was slightly surprised at that. "Really? Then why did she ask if I was your girlfriend?" She had a bewildered look on her face, and Shego couldn't help but smirk.

"I promised her that when I found the right girl, the first restaurant I'd take her to would be here."

"Oh? And I'm the first girl you've brought here?"

Shego decided to up her game a little, seeing as how the girl seemed to be fishing for it a little. "Of course. I did say I'd bring the right girl." Shego leaned forward and took one of Kim's hands in her own, bringing her lips to the redhead's knuckles, "Or was I wrong?" She looked up at the girl with innocent eyes, almost seeming to be pleading with her to say no.

"N-No," the hero stammered before she could stop herself. Those eyes were compelling.

Shego smiled warmly as she released the girl's hand and sighed contently, "I'm glad."

Kim turned a dark shade of red and stared at the table, unable to say anything else under the unwavering gaze of the older woman.

The waitress came at the perfect time, ending the silence that had fallen upon them, asking for their orders.

After jotting down their main course, the waitress disappeared into the kitchen for minute before returning with an appetizer, on the house.

Kim wanted to refuse the food, not a huge fan of receiving free food, feeling that it left her in their debt.

Shego rolled her eyes, "Come on Kimmie, lighten up a little. She's just trying to help me get a hold of you."

Kim seemed a little confused, then it slowly dawned on her that the restaurant owner as playing Shego's wingwoman.

Chuckling the older woman said, "So then, is it working so far?"

"Is… what working so far?" Kim asked suspiciously.

"Me sweeping you off your feet on our 'not a date' date," she said smoothly, a Cheshire smile on her face.

The redhead brushed a little bit of hair out of her face and tucked it behind her ear, trying to act casual as she responded, "Maybe."

The ex-villain was giddy on the inside and she wanted to just jump up and down happily, but she kept herself composed. That wasn't something someone like her did, and she didn't plan to start doing it.

The conversation flowed easier when the food came out and the topic changed to simple things like work or school or the state of the world and all the villains currently running around and preparing to wreak havoc.

As dinner came to a close, Shego paid the bill, winning the argument over the check. Her friend ran the place, so she had the upper hand.

Kim huffed as they exited. "Why couldn't you just split the bill with me? Honestly? What's wrong with that?"

Shego chuckled, "Nothing's wrong with splitting the bill. I was planning to pay from the beginning. Besides, we had a huge discount because you're my sort of date, and my wingwoman was doing her best to make me seem as cool as possible… which included me paying."

Rolling her eyes the redhead sighed. She was never going to win with Shego. At least not when it came to dates and the like.

They decided to detour before heading home, walking through a nearby park.

Kim continually glanced down at the green skinned woman's hand, wanting to take it in her own, but not sure how to proceed doing it without seeming stupid and childish.

Shego watched out of the corner of her eye in amusement as the redhead grew flustered. She decided to throw the girl a bone and slid her hand into the girl's. She threw a warm smile at Kim and blushed and looked down at the ground.

They continued to silently walk around, and before either had realized it, they'd arrived at Shego's motorcycle.

"Shall I drop you at home then?" Shego asked, tossing the redhead a helmet.

Kim seemed hesitant to put it on, not wanting the night to end.

Scrutinized the hero's actions carefully she then added, "Or… shall I bring you back to mine?" Her own heart leapt into her throat after proposing the girl come back with her and being completely serious.

Seconds ticked by, and after what felt like an hour, Kim slowly looked up at Shego and said with a nervous smile, "Back…. To yours…?"

Shego couldn't keep the wide grin from pulling at her lips as she climbed onto her motorcycle and Kim wrapped her arms around her waist.

"So then… I take it the 'not a date' went well?"

"Yeah…. The DATE went well."
