"You have got to be kidding me." She stared at him, incredulous.

"Why?"

"Because there is no way on earth I am naming my son Ludwig. It's just not going to happen!"

"Why not? It's a very respectable name! There's Ludwig Tieck, the famous German poet, Ludwig Uhland, the famous German author, Ludwig Feuerbach, the famous German philosopher, Ludwig -"

"Jeffrey, we aren't German!"

"Well, I don't see why that should matter!"

"Look, why don't you just come right out and say that you want to name him after Ludwig van Beethoven, the famous German musician."

Jeffrey rolled his eyes in exasperation. "Skye, how many times do I have to tell you? Beethoven was a musician, but he was only famous as a composer."

"And who, exactly, cares?!"

"Skye..."

"Fine. Now can you please try to think of a name that is a bit more common? Because there is no way that I'm sending my son to his first day of kindergarten with a name like Wolfgang. I'm warning you right now..."

"Well it's not my fault that you like boring names!"

"Jeffrey, we've been over this! I picked those names for a reason!"

"Revenge, you mean."

"Exactly. Cooper named his daughter after me, and he's about to get a taste of his own medicine."

"Oh, so mature..."

"Look, we both agreed on Elizabeth."

"Lizzy."

"Fine... Lizzy. We have two sons, and I'm naming one of them Cooper. You can pick the name of the other one, just please consider what the kids will say when he gets older."

"Alright." He sighed. "How about Matt?"

"I would say yes, but I dated a Matt in high school. Remember?"

"Oh, yeah. Probably not the best idea, then."

She chuckled. "Well, I wouldn't mind. It brings back some nice memories..."

"Skye!"

"What?" He just looked at her. "Oh, come on! You know I'm teasing!"

"Well, how about Christopher?"

Snorting, she shook her head in disbelief. "And you accused me of being boring..."

"Fine, then. How about Alex?" She just shook her head. "Michael?" Her look answered that question. "Richard? Jonathan? Greg? Dylan? Hunter? Zach? Tobias? Robert?"

"Yes!"

He stared at her in disbelief. "Robert?"

"No! The one before that."

"Um, Tobias?

"Yeah, I actually like that one."

"Well, what do you know. Skye Penderwick actually liking something."

She just rolled her eyes. "Shut up."

"No, but seriously, Skye. Are you sure?"

"Yes!"

"And you do realize that Tobias is a German name?"

"Oh, for Pete's sake, Jeffrey! Who cares?!"

He nodded, looking at her with a mixture of relief and awe. "Okay, then. I'll go get the nurse..."

"She bringing WHO over?!"

"Dylan."

"Yeah, I got that much, but who, exactly, is he?!"

"The guy she had a date with today."

"She's bringing her DATE HERE?!"

"Yep."

"Why?"

"Probably because he wants to meet us."

"Well, what sort of low-down creepy slime-ball wants to go to the maternity ward of a hospital on the first date?!"

There was the sound of a closing door and an awkward cough, as Skye turned around slowly, knowing what she was going to see, and already hating it.

"Hey, I'm Dylan. You must be Skye..."

"Um, I don't think I can do this..."

"What do you mean, Skye! Of course you can do this. It's what you were made to do, literally."

She swallowed nervously. "Um, what if he bites me?"

"He can't bite you, Skye. He doesn't have any teeth yet."

"How do you know?"

"Because babies aren't born with teeth! Aren't you the scientist here?"

"Well, maybe he's defective."

"Skye!"

"What?!"

"You do not get to call our son defective. Now quit stalling and get this over with. He's hungry!"

"Exactly why he'll try and bite me!"

"Skye, he's not going to bite you! Now come on..." Leaning forward, he grasped the top of her shirt, gently.

"What the heck do you thing you're doing?!" She swatted at his hand, angrily.

"Pulling down you shirt, what does it look like?"

"How dare you?!"

"Skye..." He just stared at her.

"Fine. I'll do it." She looked at him expectantly.

"Well, what are you waiting for?"

"For you to turn around, duh!"

"Skye, I'm not going to turn around!"

"Why not?!"

"Because it's completely unnecessary, that's why! Because you're my wife, and because I want to make sure that you don't drop my son! Now do it!"

"Fine."

He watched, utterly amused and trying desperately to keep a straight face as she squirmed and shifted and winced and yelped as she adjusted the baby attached to her chest. This was going to take some getting used to.

"Okay, I think he's done."

"See, that wasn't too bad, was it?"

"Oh, wasn't it? How would you like to have a siphon attached to you? It's a very strange feeling, Jeffery, a very strange feeling indeed."

He chuckled. "Well, I think you'll get used to it." Juggling the babies around in his arms, he passed her the next in line.

She took one look at her son, and handed him right back. "You already gave me that one."

"No, I didn't. And his name isn't 'that one', its Tobias."

"Exactly, I just fed Tobias."

"No, you didn't. You just feed Cooper."

"I did not! Don't you think I know what my own son looks like?!"

"Skye, they're identical." She just stared at him. "You did know that didn't you?"

She blinked. "Oh, of course I knew that. Do you really think I wouldn't know that I just gave birth to identical sons?!"

He fought the smirk off his face. "Well, I just wanted to check."

She bit her lip, and looked sheepishly at him. "Jeffrey?"

"Yeah?"

"How are we going to tell them apart?"

He just smiled, before leaning forward to peck her on the lips. "That's something we're going to have to figure out, isn't it?"
