Kurama no Kyubi: The finals have finally arrived, and in this chapter we'll meet both old and new characters. Now let's get to the reviews.

Kurama no Kyubi: Not for a good while yet.
Guest: maybe Shikamaru's the wood sage or the shadow sage and garra appears to the earth sage as for inari's foster father I'd think of him as either the spirit or shadow sage
Kurama no Kyubi: The mark that appeared on the back of Gaara's hand was the mark of the Spirit Sage. Also, Shikamaru and Kaiza aren't Sages, but I do have other plans for the both of them. Also, one of the Sages that you mentioned there should be rather obvious if you were to stop and think about it.
Naruto Obito Halliwell Uzumaki: Great job with the chapter. I can't wait to see Naruto knock some sense into Neji
Kurama no Kyubi: Yeah, and it's about time someone did it too.
Eternal Dragon Keeper21: Great chapter, that was so awesome, I loved that naruto was able to learn not only about what happened 12 years, but also the battle against Kurama was awesome and how he is now able to use Kurama's powers even though it just one tail for now, I have a feeling that he won't be able to use all of the nine tails until the sequel, and I think that Shikamaru may be connected and who knows he may be one of the sages so far we only know who two of the sages are Fuu and Gaara, Please do not put in a lemon scene at all the reason why is because 1. There may be some people who are not fond of these scenes, 2. There may be some people who are underaged that are reading this and that may be inappropriate I'm not sure if there are any but if so I don't think it would be a good idea,
Kurama no Kyubi: Yeah, but if I were to add a Lemon scene, I would've put up a warning both before and after it so that those that don't want to read it can just skip it.

Kurama no Kyubi: Well, it should be quite obvious that Gaara's the Spirit Sage, but Shikamaru can't be one seeing as both of his parents are still alive, so even if they did have the blood of one of the Sages, the one of his parents with that blood would have to die before he could become a Sage himself.

Chapter 17: The Finals Begins: Naruto vs Neji!
Many people were entering the village; among them were the Daimyo, and the lords of other lands. There was also a certain party of four that had come all the way from the Land of Waves, and there were also two people, dressed in robes that covered their features, as well as hid their faces under hoods.
As all of the different people were entering, Hiruzen stood atop a rooftop looking down at them along with two Jonin.
"And so it begins…" The aging Hokage said.
"You have certainly aged since the last time I saw you, Hiruzen." Hiruzen and the two Jonin turned around to see an old woman, dressed in what you'd expect a witch to wear. Besides her was a young girl dressed in similar clothing.
"Ah, Syrup." Hiruzen said before noticing the girl "And who's the girl?"
"She is my apprentice. Her name's Maple." Syrup said.
"Well, I must say that I didn't expect to see you here. What's the occasion?" Hiruzen asked.
"I'm here for the exams. I want Maple to study how the ninja fight, and use their techniques." Syrup said.
"I see. So you'll be here watching the exams, then?" Hiruzen asked.
"Of course." Syrup said before looking over her shoulder at Maple "Go and find something else to do for now. I need to catch up with Hiruzen, so scram, and be sure to be at the arena by the time of the exams."
"Y-yes, Syrup-sama." Maple said before running off.
"And you two should leave as well." Syrup said as she looked at the two Jonin while Hiruzen sweat-dropped.
Konoha, outside the arena
Naruto and Farore were approaching the arena as Navi was sitting on Naruto's shoulder and Dimitri was sitting on the blond's head.
"I can't believe the day's finally here." Naruto said.
"Yeah. And with all that training you did, that Neji guy won't stand a chance." Farore said.
"Yeah. But I haven't seen Obito-san today, do you know where he went?" Naruto asked.
"Obito-kun unfortunately couldn't make it." Farore sad.
"Oh." Naruto said with a slightly sad expression on his face.
"Hey, now. No need to look so sad. Obito-kun might not be there, but I sure will." Farore said.
"Thanks." Naruto said with his foxy-grin.
"Don't think about it. After all, what are girlfriends for?" Farore said.
"She's got a point there, you know." Navi added as Dimitri let out a grunt in agreement.
"Yeah." Naruto said.
"Hey, Naruto-nii-san!" Naruto and Farore looked towards where the voice came from to see Konohamaru running towards them.
"Is he the boy you told me about, Naruto-kun?" Farore asked.
"Yeah, he's Konohamaru." Naruto said as said boy stopped running before them.
"Huh? Who're you?" He asked as he looked at Farore before noticing how the two were holding hands "Ah! Are you his girlfriend?" Farore only nodded at the question, and Konohamaru leaned over to Naruto as he whispered "Man, she's pretty. Where'd you find her?"
"It was actually she that found me." Naruto whispered back.
"You're a cute little boy, aren't you?" Farore said as she leaned down, so that she was on level with Konohamaru, making him blush at her words.
"Well, anyway." Konohamaru then looked back at Naruto "Are you heading to the final exams now?"
"Mm-hmm. You better believe it!" Naruto stated proudly.
"Naruto-nii-san!" Everyone looked towards the voice to see a boy running towards them, a boy which Naruto instantly recognized.
"Inari?" He asked as the boy came over, shortly followed by his parents and grandfather "What are you guys doing here?"
"We heard about this event, and Inari wanted to come see it." Tazuna said.
"Who are you guys?" Konohamaru asked.
"Oh. I'm Inari, it's nice to meet you." Inari said as he held out his hand.
"I'm Sarutobi Konohamaru." Konohamaru said as he took Inari's hand before asking "How come you guys know Naruto-nii-san?"
"There was this man named Gato who had taken over our nation, and Naruto-nii-san and his team came and saved us all!" Inari said.
"Wow! Really? I had no idea that he'd saved an entire nation!" Konohamaru exclaimed.
"Yeah! Naruto-nii-san's the greatest." Inari said.
"Looks like you've gotten yourself a couple of fans there, Naruto-kun." Farore whispered into Naruto's ear.
'That girl…' Kaiza thought as he looked at Farore before approaching said girl "Say, you wouldn't happen to be Naruto-san's girlfriend, would you? What's your name?"
"You're right in your assumption. And the name's Farore." Farore said.
'I knew it.' Kaiza thought before saying "Farore? That's the same name as one of the Golden Goddesses', isn't it?"
"You're right. My parents named me after the Goddess, hoping I would become a very courageous girl." Farore lied.
"I see. Well, if that's the case, you've found yourself a fitting boyfriend." Kaiza said before looking at his family "We should probably go and get some seats before all the seats get taken."
"Yes. Tsunami said before looking at her son "Come Inari, you can talk with Naruto and Konohamaru later, okay?"
"Okay, kaa-san." Inari said before the four of them headed off to the arena as Farore stared towards Kaiza out of the corner of her eyes.
'That man… he knows. He saw straight through my lie like nothing. He could be useful.'She thought.
"Hey, Konohamaru." Naruto said, catching the boy's attention "Shouldn't you be in school by now?"
"Oh, crap. You're right." Konohamaru said as he turned around and ran off, causing Naruto, Farore, Navi, and Dimitri to sweat-drop.
"Yo, Naruto you should hurry up, the finals will be starting soon." Naruto and Farore then turned to the voice to see Sasuke standing there, and they walked over to him.
"Sasuke, I haven't seen you since we first met Obito-san. Where have you been?" Naruto asked.
"Training." Sasuke said before looking at Farore "And who're you?"
"You can't see the resemblance?" Farore asked.
"Resemblance?" Sasuke asked before for some reason comparing the girl with Din, and he instantly saw the resemblance "Wait, you look a little like Din, the Goddess of Power."
"Don't you dare compare me to Din-teme!" Farore yelled, causing Sasuke to look at her in confusion.
"She's Din's younger sister, Farore-chan, the Goddess of Courage." Naruto said.
"And I'm also Naruto-kun's girlfriend." Farore added as she leaned into Naruto.
"Whatever. Let's just hurry up and get in already." Sasuke said.
"Oh, right." Naruto said before recalling something "But first I need to get changed. Obito-san had these new clothes made for me, and I would like to first show 'em of in the arena."
"Suit yourself." Sasuke said before walking towards the arena.
Konoha, Ninja Academy
Konohamaru had made it just in time for class, and quickly made it to his seat in-between Moegi and Udon just before Iruka came in.
"Class, today we're going to do something different. I suppose some of you have seen all of the different people coming to the village today, right? Do you know what they're here for?" Iruka said.
"They're here to watch the Chunin Exams." Konohamaru said.
"That's correct, Konohamaru. And I decided that watching the Chunin Exams, could give you an idea of how more experience ninja fights, so I've asked Hokage-sama if I could take all of you to see the exams." Iruka said, causing all of the students to cheer, as it meant no school for the day.
Konoha, arena
All of the competitors for the finals were standing at the battlegrounds of the arena, well, that is, all except one.
"Hey, Sasuke-kun, have you seen Naruto?" Sakura asked as she looked around, not seeing the blond anywhere.
"He said he was going to go change into some new clothes Obito had gotten made for him." Sasuke said.
"New clothes?" Sakura asked.
Suddenly there was a large puff of smoke, and from it echoed a voice which was familiar to everyone from Konoha.
"Hello, everybody! Uzumaki Naruto has arrived! Dattebayo!" Naruto said as the smoke faded to reveal his new outfit.
He wore a silver shirt with a green t-shirt with the Uzumaki clan symbol on the back over it. He also wore green shorts and his Hitai-ate seemed to have been switched out with a green one, though the forehead protector remained the same.
"What happened to the "kill-me" orange?" Chilly asked.
"Your friend burned it, remember?" Naruto said.
"Tsk. Don't call that flaming baka my friend." Chilly said as she looked away.
"I'd say that your girlfriend's got a good influence on you." Sasuke said, causing Sakura to look at him in surprise.
"Did you just say, "his girlfriend"?" She asked, not having known that Naruto had a girlfriend.
"She's Farore, the Goddess of Courage." Sasuke said, causing Sakura, Chilly, and Aqua to jump in surprise. With the exception of Shikamaru, the others were surprised as well, but they were just better at hiding it, though Dosu started sweating while Ventus started shaking, though whether it was in fear or anger was hard to tell.
'I knew it.' Shikamaru thought.
"Why would a Goddess want to date you?" Sakura asked as she stared daggers at Naruto.
"What? Jealous?" Naruto asked.
"As if!" Sakura yelled before punching her blond teammate, sending him flying before she noticed that Aqua seemed pretty down 'I wonder what's with her.'
"Hey, Aqua-san." She said as she walked over to the blunette, catching said blunette's attention "Is something the matter?"
"Uh… eh, no. Nothing's wrong, it's just…" Aqua said.
"Just what?" Sakura asked.
"Well, you see…" Aqua started, but she noticed Ventus shaking his head before she continued "I'm just worried about my match, is all."
"Oh? Well, you're not the only one though…" Sakura said as she nervously looked towards Chilly from the corner of her eyes to see said girl smiling at her before instantly looking away.
"She tell you that she'd make you her sex slave?" Aqua asked, and Sakura slowly nodded.
"How'd you know? Did she do it to you too?" Sakura asked.
"Yeah, but Ventus-kun saved me." Aqua said.
"Well, don't worry though. I think that if we just try hard enough, we can both win our matches." Sakura said.
"I wouldn't be too sure about that. You might win your match, but I don't stand a chance… When he gets serious, I don't think anyone can beat Ray. Even Flare's afraid of him." Aqua said.
"He's really that powerful?" Sakura asked as she stared towards the silver-haired Genin out of the corner of her eyes.
"Yeah. In fact, the only time I've ever seen him lose a match was when he sparred against Luna-sama." Aqua said.
"Who's Luna?" Sakura asked.
"Ah, well, she's the leader of the six of us. Together we're known as the Element 7. She's also part of an elite group within our village called the Seven Reapers of Death." Aqua said.
""The Seven Reapers of Death"?" Sakura asked, and Aqua nodded.
"That's right. Vaati-sensei and Agahnim-sensei are also members of this group." Aqua said.
"Hey! Stop fidgeting. Stand still and face forward, toward the guests… for all of you are the stars of these finals." The proctor said, and everyone did as told.
Kage box
In the Kage box was Hiruzen sitting with Konoha Jonin, Raido standing behind him as the Kazekage arrived.
"Ah. Well, well. Kazekage-dono." Hiruzen said as the Kazekage walked towards him along with two bodyguards, and sat down on a chair next to the Hokage.
"You must be tired from your long journey." Hiruzen said.
"Oh, no. I'm happy to make the trip. Of course, you're still hale and hearty, but the voyage might have been a bit harder on you, Hokage-dono. Perhaps you ought to choose your successor soon." The Kazekage said.
"… Ha ha… Well, don't bury me yet. I hope to continue here… for another five years, at least." Hiruzen said before rising to his feet "Well then… we ought to begin…"
"Ahem, ladies and gentlemen, esteemed guests… welcome and heartfelt thanks for gathering here in Konohagakure for the Chunin Examination. We will now begin the matches of the final round between the 13 candidates who advanced in the preliminaries. Please sit back and enjoy." He said.
"Ah, Hokage-dono, sorry I'm late." Came a voice to Hiruzen's right, and both him and the Kazekage looked towards it to see none other than Ganondorf along with two Gerudo warriors.
The Gerudo warriors weren't quite like most, however, one of them had a mask of a lion covering most her face, and the mask was tied to a weird hat which looked like a lion's mane. She also had what appeared to be lion ears coming out of said mane, and a lion tail appeared to come out of her back. The other one had a mask of a bull covering most of her face that was tied to two horns that seemed to come out of her head. She also had what appeared to be a cow tail.
"I haven't been here in so long, so I almost lost my way." Ganondorf said before sitting down.
"Hokage-dono, what is the meaning of this?" The Kazekage asked.
"Tanikage-dono asked to be allowed up here seeing as he would come to watch as well. And since he's a Kage too, I couldn't just say "no"." Hiruzen said.
"Don't worry, Kazekage-dono, I'm not here to cause any more trouble… than you are." Ganondorf said before looking down at the battlegrounds "Besides, I've been looking forward to seeing how my shinobi will fare against your own. I myself am personally looking forward to the Terre vs Gaara fight, and the Ventus vs Sasuke fight. Those two should be quite interesting, wouldn't you agree, Kazekage-dono?"
"You've got a point there." The Kazekage said.
Battlegrounds
"Listen up, all of you. This is the last exam. The landscape may be different, but just as with the prelims, there are no set rules. You fight until one of you dies or admits defeat… unless I determine that a clear winner has already been decided, in which case I'll stop the match before anyone's killed. Understood…?" The proctor, Genma said before continuing after a small pause "All right then… match one, Uzumaki Naruto and Hyuga Neji. You two stay down here, the rest of you, proceed to the waiting room outside the arena."
Every one of the Genin but Naruto and Neji then cleared out.
Stands
At the stands were Kiba and Hinata trying to find a pair of seats, they had wanted for Shino to sit with them as well, but he was sitting with his father, so the two of them had to find a place to sit without him. As Kiba walked down among the stands, he finally found three seats.
"Hey Hinata, there are three seats over here." He said.
"Th-thanks." Hinata said before she sat down on the innermost of the three seats, and Kiba sat down next to her.
"Excuse me, is this seat taken?" Kiba, Akamaru, and Hinata looked towards the owner of the voice to see Farore standing there, holding Dimitri as Navi was sitting on her shoulder.
"Ah! Y-you're…" Kiba started as Farore sat down next to him.
"I don't think I was able to introduce myself the last time. The name's Farore." Farore said before looking at Kiba "I've noticed that you've been trying to avoid me, Inuzuka Kiba."
"Umm… well…" Kiba started as he blushed before saying "What did you think? You sent me flying straight into the women's bath-house!"
"So that's where you ended up, was it? Sorry about that, I just don't take insults to either me or my friends very lightly." Farore said before looking at the battlegrounds "Well, anyway. This is no place for arguing."
"Indeed. This'll be quite a show." Kiba said.
'… Naruto-kun…' Hinata thought.
"… I never imagined that scamp would last so long…" Kotetsu, who was sitting next to Hinata said.
"Hmm… But all the ones who were hanging on through luck alone have been eliminated by now. And this Naruto kid… he drew a tough opponent. Against a member of the Hyuga clan, he's got absolutely no chance at all." Izumo said.
'Heh… Well, they're in for a heck of a surprise. There's no way my Naruto-kun will lose to someone like that. Someone that doesn't even understand the concept of "destiny".' Farore thought.
Akamaru then licked Kiba's cheek, catching his attention.
"What is it, Akamaru?" Kiba asked before Akamaru let out some low barks "Nani…?" Kiba then started looking around "Where…?" He then spotted one of the ANBU '…Over there…! Why the hell are there ANBU agents here? Is something big about to happen…?'
'He's noticed, what a smart boy…' Farore thought as she stared at Kiba from the corner of her eyes.
Stands, Konohamaru, Moegi, and Udon
Konohamaru and the others were in the stands, looking for empty seats, until a familiar voice called out to Konohamaru.
"Hey, Konohamaru, over here!" Konohamaru, Moegi, and Udon looked towards the owner of the voice to see Inari sitting with his family, and next to him were three empty seats.
"Ah. Inari." Konohamaru said as he, and his two friends ran over to Inari and sat down on the seats, with Konohamaru sitting next to Inari, and Moegi sitting in-between him and Udon.
"Who's this, Konohamaru-kun?" Udon asked.
"This is Inari, I met him earlier today. He's a friend of Naruto-nii-san." Konohamaru said.
"What? Really?" Moegi asked.
"Yeah." Konohamaru said before turning to Inari "These here are my friends, Moegi-chan and Udon-kun."
"It's nice to meet you." Inari said.
"Likewise." Moegi said.
"Hey, look. Naruto-nii-san's match is up first." Udon said.
Stands, robed figures
Somewhere in the stands were two robed figures, and what no one knew was that they were the missing-nins from Kiri, Momochi Zabuza, and Yuki Haku.
"Zabuza-sama, there's still no signs of the enemy." Haku whispered, making sure no one heard him.
"Don't worry, Haku. If our information is correct, then the enemy could be all around us." Zabuza said as he carefully looked around with a watchful eye.
Battlegrounds
Naruto and Neji were standing so that they were facing each other with the former glaring at the latter.
"You got something to say…?" Neji asked.
"I've said this once before…" Naruto said as he held his hand out in a fist "I vow to win!"
Neji then activated his Byakugan before thinking '… He has absolute faith in himself… as if he hasn't got a single doubt…'
"Now then… match one… begin!" Genma said, and Neji assumed a battle-stance.
"Ho ho… It's more fun this way anyway… I can't wait to see the despair in your eyes… when the truth finally dawns on you…" He said.
"Quit yapping… Let's fight!" Naruto said.
Stands, Hiashi and Hanabi
"The Hyuga blood flows thicker in his veins than in anyone else's… Watch closely, Hanabi." Hiashi said as he looked down at his youngest daughter, Hanabi.
"Hai… tou-san." Hanabi said.
Stands, Syrup and Maple
"Now, Maple, watch carefully. I want you to study the fighting techniques and strategies that the ninja are using." Syrup said.
"Hai, Syrup-sama." Maple said.
Kage box
'So, that's the wielder of the Triforce of Courage. Now, show me what you've got, boy.' Ganondorf thought with narrowed eyes.
Stands, Farore and the others
'You have to be careful, Naruto. Neji can see the Tenketsu… I hope Naruto remembers…With this guy, close combat is a bad idea…' Kiba thought.
"You're right, Kiba. Close combat is usually a bad idea against an opponent that can see the Tenketsu." Farore said, surprising Kiba.
'Nani? Can she read my mind?' He thought.
"However, as you will soon see, close combat is the last thing you'd wanna do when fighting against Naruto-kun." Farore said with a smirk.
Battlegrounds
(Boss #10: Prodigy of the Hyuga clan, Neji.)
Neji glared towards Naruto with his Byakugan activated as said blond thought back to what Kakashi had said during Neji and Hinata's fight.
"These nodes are called Tenketsu… and, in theory, if you can accurately hit them… you can halt the flow of an enemy's chakra, or enhance it, controlling it in any way you wish."
'So, I just have to not let him touch me, right? Piece of cake.' Naruto thought before drawing his tanto.
"Alright, Neji. Here I come!" He said before charging at Neji.
"IDIOT! You can't just attack him head-on like that!" Kiba yelled from his place in the stands.
As Naruto got closer, Neji smiled as he went in for a palm-strike, expecting it to be over after the first blow, but then Naruto smiled.
"Tsuchi Sosa: Shield!" The Earth Element suddenly started glowing as a shield of earth suddenly came out of the tanto's blade, blocking Neji's attack.
'Nani? This earth isn't a chakra construct?' Neji thought in surprise before Naruto swung his sword as the shield was replaced by a blade of wind.
"Kaze Kiri!" Naruto called out, and the Hyuga leapt back as he held his arms in an "X" over his chest to block the incoming wind which made several cuts over his arms before he landed while skidding across the ground.
'I underestimated him.' Neji thought.
Stands, Farore and the others
"Heh. There's more to this kid than meets the eye." Kotetsu said.
"Yeah. And if I'm not mistaking, that's the Hakko Chakura To. Since when did he ever get his hands on that?" Izumo said.
"Who knows. But either way, this will be an interesting match." Kotetsu said.
Stands, Lee and Guy
'Naruto-kun… I know you can do this.' Lee thought.
Battlegrounds
'That technique he used earlier which stopped my attack must have a weak-spot to it, all techniques do, I just have to figure out what it is.' Neji thought.
"Neji. There's one thing I've been meaning to ask you; why is it that you believe that everything is controlled by destiny?" Naruto asked.
"… Fine. All right… since you insist, I'll tell you… about the hateful legacy of the Hyuga clan." Neji said before proceeding to tell Naruto about how 9 years ago, Kumo had signed a pact of alliance with Konoha. And one night shortly after, Hinata had nearly been kidnapped, but the kidnapper was quickly dealt with by Hiashi. The kidnapper was none other than the shinobi ruler of Kumo, and afterwards Kumo wanted Hiashi's head and Konoha accepted, but instead of giving them Hiashi, they had sent his twin brother and Neji's father, Hizashi.
"And so… in this match too… the moment I was selected as your opponent, your fate was sealed as well. Your fate is to lose to me. That's a fact." Neji said before putting back his Hitai-ate.
"I can't even imagine how much pain you felt when your father was killed, but I think you're wrong to conclude that everyone's destinies are pre-determined." Naruto said.
"You're hopeless…" Neji said.
Stands, Farore and the others
'Neji-nii-san…' Hinata thought before she started coughing.
"Hey, Hinata… Are you all right?" Kiba asked before Hinata suddenly coughed up blood "Hey. You're coughing up blood! Hinata, you're still injured from your own match…! Hey, Hinata!"
"What's wrong?" Kotetsu asked.
"I'll take care of her." Farore said as she rose to her feet "But first we most get her to some place where she can lie down."
"Right." Kiba said before he helped Hinata up and they walked up to behind the stands.
Kiba then put Hinata down as Farore leaned over the girl as her hands were coated in a green glow and she put them on the girl's chest, over her heart.
"Hey, what are you doing?" Kiba asked.
"Don't worry. This is a powerful healing spell, she should be fully healed in a couple of minutes." Farore said.
Battlegrounds
Naruto then charged at Neji again as his blade was coated in earth which then seemed to form into a long whip.
"Tsuchi Sosa: Whip!" He then swung the whip at Neji, managing to get it wrapped around him, so that he couldn't even move his arms, meaning that he couldn't attack. Naruto then formed four Kage Bunshins as they all charged at Neji.
However, as three of them attempted to kick him up into the air, he suddenly started to spin around so fast that he sent them flying backwards. One of the clones crashed into the fourth one, while another clone crashed into the original, causing him to lose the tanto.
'Wh-what the hell just happened?' Naruto thought as he landed with his rear on the ground.
"You thought… you had me beat?" Neji asked as the earth whip fell off him.
Stands, Hiashi and Hanabi
'… Unbelievable… Kaiten…!' Hiashi thought in surprise as he narrowed his eyes.
Stands, Tenten
'That's Neji's defense… The visual range of Neji's Byakugan is almost a full 360 degrees… in other words, he can pretty much see a full circle around him… and with that same all-seeing eye, he can anticipate all of his opponent's attacks… From now on, Neji will be shielded within the Hakkesho Kaiten. The instant before an attack reaches him, he emits a large amount of chakra from the Tenketsu all over his body… halting the enemy's attack with a cocoon of chakra. And then he moves his body in a circle like a spinning top… repelling and reflecting the attack. Normally, chakra that is emitted from the Tenketsu is difficult to control. Even Jonin can usually only utilize such chakra from a single body-part at a time, like hands or feet… But Neji – a master of the Juken – can emit chakra from his entire body… and with that emitted power alone, can physically block attacks… You could consider it another kind of absolute defense… that's even more powerful than Gaara's.' Tenten thought.

'This would've been much easier if I could just go ahead and use Kurama's chakra.' Naruto thought as he rose to his feet before thinking back to something that Obito had told him.
"Naruto-san, you may have a slight amount of control over Kurama's chakra, but you should only use it as a last resort. Use it first when all else fails; it will be your final trump-card. Though, to be honest, I'd rather if you don't use it at all."
'Well, if I can't use Kurama's chakra, then I'll rather have to use that.' Naruto thought as he closed his eyes.
"You're finished… You are within the boundaries of my trigram." Neji said before assuming a new stance "Hakke Rokujuyon Sho!"
'That stance… it can't be…!' Hiashi thought as he watched intently.
Neji then moved in for two consecutive palm strikes, but Naruto then opened his eyes to reveal that they were glowing in a green color as a green aura also appeared around him.
'Farore's Wind!' He thought before he started dodging Neji's attacks at great speeds.

'That's… the technique he used to beat me… Heh heh heh… Hyuga doesn't stand a chance now.' Flare thought.

As Neji's attacks kept increasing, Naruto only continued to dodge them until the 64 palm mark had been reached. The blond then created a Kage Bunshin where his tanto was lying, but then when Neji made his final strike, he finally managed to hit the blond, however, everyone was surprised when the blond vanished in a puff of smoke.
'A Kage Bunshin? How? When?' Neji thought before turning to the original, who had now picked up his tanto.

'A member of the cadet branch has surpassed the main branch entirely. He truly is a fearsome natural talent. "You're probably wondering how I did that, aren't you?" Naruto asked before continuing "Well, it's no secret, so I'll tell you. I used a technique called "Farore's Wind", it gives me quick reflexes, and great speed, as well as the ability to teleport myself. However, I can only teleport to a place that I've previously marked."
"I see. So while I was attacking you, you created a Kage Bunshin, who then moved over to your tanto before marking himself as you also marked yourself, so that you switched places. It's a good strategy; I'm actually amazed that a failure such as yourself was able to come up with it." Neji said.
"Ah. Quit it with all that failure talk, why don't you?" Naruto said.
"I don't understand why you keep on trying to defy your fate." Neji said.
"It's because… I never go back on my word, that's my nindo. Dattebayo!" Naruto said.
"Heh… I think I've heard that line before…" Neji said.
"I refuse to be defeated by a coward like you… I won't lose to someone who believes in resigning himself to fate…!" Naruto said.
"What a joke… Stop trying to lecture all of us, as if you know anything. Everyone is born shouldering a destiny that cannot be defied." Neji said before recalling something his father had said to him.
"Neji… you… more than anyone else, you've been blessed with the genius of the Hyuga clan… I wish you could have been born into the main branch…"
"How could you understand anything about my fate… about bearing an indelible, inescapable curse?" The Hyuga prodigy yelled as he pointed at Naruto.
"Actually… I understand it more than you know." Naruto said before holding up his right hand, showing Neji the mark of the Triforce of Courage "You see this? If what you say about destiny is true, then this mark would be proof of my victory. It is the mark of the Triforce of Courage, proof that I've got 1/3 of the Triforce's powers."
"You're the one who needs to quit lecturing… you're not the only "special" one around here, you know. Even though she's in the main branch, Hinata has been suffering just as much as you! She's trying so hard to change herself… to earn respect… That's why she hung in there during that fight with you, even though she was coughing up blood! And you…! The cadet branch is supposed to protect the main branch, but you used the exam as an excuse to beat up Hinata… It sure seems like you were trying to defy your fate, too!" Naruto said.
Stands, Farore and the others
Farore then removed her hands from Hinata's chest as the green glow faded. Hinata then opened her eyes and sat up.
"Hinata, you're all right!" Kiba exclaimed as Akamaru let out a few happy barks, and Kiba then looked at Farore 'Whoa. She's good. She actually managed to heal Hinata fully.'
"We should get back to our seats. The fight's almost over." Farore said before rising to her feet, and the two Hylians followed her example as they headed back to their seats, though this time Farore sat next to Kotetsu while Hinata sat in-between her and Kiba.
"Hey, are you all right?" Kotetsu asked as he looked at Hinata, who nodded.
"H-hai…" She said.
'Incredible. She seems completely fine. You almost wouldn't believe that she was coughing up blood just a few moments ago.' Kotetsu thought before looking at Farore 'Was she the one who healed her? Who is she?'
"You said the fight was almost over, but they're both just standing there." Kiba said.
"Neji's used up most of his chakra, I don't think he's got enough for many more of his big tricks. And Naruto's seen both of them, so they won't work on him. While Naruto on the other hand, hasn't even begun to tap into the bottom-less pit that is his chakra reserves." Farore said.
'Naruto-kun…' Hinata said while smiling, something that Farore didn't miss.
"You like him, don't you?" The green Goddess asked, causing the blunette to blush.
"Um… well…" Hinata stuttered out.
"There's no need to hide it, I can see it written all over your face. Well, sorry to have to tell you this, but he's already taken." Farore said, causing Hinata to look down "Hey, no need to look so sad. Naruto-kun might be taken, but there are a lot of other guys out there, even some that are a lot like him. In fact, I used to date one that was just like him a while back. But that's beside the point. You might not realize it, but the one that you're destined to end up with might be closer to you than you think."
Hinata then looked up as Farore held out her hand.
"I wish us both luck in our love lives." She said, and Hinata smiled as she took her hand.
"Right." She said, blushing slightly.
Battlegrounds
"I'll make sure that when you're through, you'll end up just like Hinata-sama." Neji said.
"Shut up! Stop acting so high and mighty with your all-seeing Byakugan!" Naruto yelled.
"Well…? Are you all talk, or are you going to try to prove your point? It's obvious that Farore made a mistake when she gave you the Triforce of Courage." Neji said.
"Sure! I'll prove it to you! By kicking your butt!" Naruto yelled before the Earth Element started glowing, and earth coated the blade of his tanto.
'So he's going to use that trick again? What'll it be this time?' Neji thought before his eyes widened when Naruto stabbed the tanto into the ground.
"Tsuchi Sosa: Avalanche!" Cracks then formed in the ground around Naruto's sword before a wave of earth and rocks shot up at Neji like a fountain, hitting his jaw, and sending him backwards so that he landed on his back.
"You know." Naruto said as he walked over to Neji before stopping "I failed the academy graduation exam three times. Because unlucky for me, the exam always tested the same Ninjutsu… my absolute weakest Ninjutsu. And my weakest Ninjutsu was Bunshin no Jutsu. So shut up about "destiny" and "inescapable fate", you shouldn't whine about such trivial stuff. 'Cause unlike me, you're not a failure."
"The winner is Uzumaki Naruto!" Genma announced.
"Yes! That was amazing!" Sakura yelled.
"Heh… Just what I'd expect." Sasuke said before everyone started clapping.
Stands, Farore and the others
'Heh… The Kyubi boy put on quite a performance. I'm impressed…' Kotetsu thought.
'Naruto-kun won…!' Hinata thought as she smiled.
"Way to go, Naruto!" Navi yelled while Dimitri let out growls of applause.
"Alright, Naruto!" Kiba yelled as Akamaru let out barks of applause.
Stands, Konohamaru and the others
"That was amazing, Naruto-nii-san!" Inari yelled.
"Naruto-nii-san, you're the best!" Konohamaru yelled.
"That kid sure is something else." Tazuna said.
'Farore-sama really did make a good decision in making him the wielder of the Triforce of Courage.' Kaiza thought.

'Heh… is that really that boy we met in the Land of Waves? He might actually be as strong as Haku now.' Zabuza thought.

"You know, the opposite of the cool guys who always have girls going gaga over them. But now… I think he's got me beat. This is bad… it's depressing." Shikamaru said.

"… Hmph… Even a caged bird – when it smartens up – will try to open the cage door with its beak… never giving in to its dream to fly free again. But this time, you got beat." Genma said as he looked down at Neji while Naruto walked towards the stairs.
Neji was then carried away by a group of medic-nins as Hiashi went to talk to him about what really happened 9 years ago.

"Ho ho… The crowd is astir." The Kazekage said.
"Yes, it was a rousing battle…" Hiruzen said.
"That it was. From what I hear, this Naruto was a failure, wasn't he? And Neji was a prodigy, even amongst the Uchiha." Ganondorf said.
"Yes, that's true." Hiruzen said, causing Ganondorf to laugh.
"Excuse me, Tanikage-dono, but may I ask what's so funny?" The Kazekage asked.
"Oh, it's just that the failure defeated a gifted genius. Wouldn't you say that is something for the ages? If this Naruto kid is allowed to continue progressing, he could even be on par with the three of us before long." Ganondorf said.
"I see your point. If another war were to break out I'd hate to find myself at the receiving end of Konoha's blade if they have shinobi like him on their side." The Kazekage said before looking at Hiruzen "I think I may have found your successor for you, Hokage-dono."
"Hmph. Well, Naruto still has a ways to go yet before he can sit in my seat." Hiruzen said.
Battlegrounds
"Next up is Kaminari Ray against Mizu Aqua!" Genma announced and shortly after had the two Tani-nins come down "Are you ready?"
"Yes." Ray said while Aqua didn't say anything, and instead only stared at the ground.
"Okay, then. Let the second match begin." Genma said.
"Aqua-san, you know that you can't win this fight, I suggest that you forfeit the match." Ray said.
Aqua then thought back to her short time with team 7 in the Forest of Death before remembering how Naruto beat Flare, who she had thought impossible for Naruto to win against. She then looked up at Ray with new-found confidence.
"No. I'll fight." She said.
Stands, Flare
'Wow. She's actually gonna fight him?' Flare thought in bewilderment.
Battlegrounds
"Water Spears!" Aqua called out, sending spears of water towards Ray, however, the spears just went straight through him as lightning coursed through the holes that were left where the spears had gone through.
"So that's your answer." Ray said before vanishing in a flash of lightning, causing Aqua's eyes to widen before she felt Ray palm hit her stomach and her body was completely engulfed in lightning.
"Electrical Discharge!" The lightning then caused Aqua to splatter into countless drops of water before raining down on the ground.

"Aqua-san…" Sakura said in a low tone.
"Aqua-san's a tough girl, but against an opponent like Ray, she doesn't stand a chance." Terra, who was standing right next to Sakura said.
Sakura then looked down before noticing that Ventus, who was standing a little further away, seemed to be trembling in what appeared to be rage as he clenched his fists around the railings, before crushing them.
"Aqua-san's never had anyone she could call a friend. In fact, Ventus is the closest she ever had to a real friend… he feels the same." Terra said as he was also looking towards Ventus before recalling the time when he had first met the others, with the exception of Ventus.
Flashback
"Hey, who's that?" Ventus asked as he looked at Aqua shortly after Ray had knocked Flare unconscious.
"Don't know. She's been sitting over there since before even I got here, and she hasn't even said anything yet." Terra said.
Aqua was sitting at the cliff, looking over the village of Tani, not knowing that a certain green-haired boy was walking towards her.
"Hey." Ventus said, catching her attention as he held out his hand while smiling "Why are you sitting over here? Why not come over to the rest of us?"
Aqua then blushed as she took Ventus' hand, and he helped her to her feet.
"I'm Ventus, by the way. What about you?" Ventus asked.
"… A-Aqua…" Aqua said her first word she'd spoken since arriving in the village a few days earlier.
Flashback end
Ventus continued to look down at Ray in rage.

"The winner is Kaminari Ray…" Genma said as he, as well as everyone else believed Aqua to be dead.
"Don't worry. She's still alive. Put her in a water can, or something. That way it'll be easier to transport her." Ray said before walking towards the stairs.
Kage box
"You sure have some terrifying shinobi, Tanikage-dono." Hiruzen said.
"Yes, well. I'm afraid that Ray is a one-of-a-kind. Even though he's just a Genin, he possesses skills and abilities similar to that of a Jonin." Ganondorf said.
"Then why hasn't he been promoted to Chunin yet?" The Kazekage asked.
"That's because I wanted to see how well he'd fare against the shinobi of the 5 Great Shinobi Nations. Sure, we might be a strong village with many powerful shinobi, and I might have the right to call myself "Kage". But even my elite ninja like my personal bodyguards, wouldn't stand a hair of a chance against the likes of Konoha's Kakashi or Suna's Baki. So I wanted to test Ray's abilities against those of your lands, and – since we're not at war – the only way to do that was to…" Ganondorf said, but the Kazekage cut him off.
"Have him participate in the Chunin Exams?" The Kazekage guessed.
"Precisely." Ganondorf said.
Battlegrounds
"The next match is Yuki Chilly against Haruno Sakura. Will both competitors please come down?" Genma said.
Sakura went and used the stairs as Chilly simply created a pair of wings made out of ice before gliding down.
"Are you both ready?" Genma asked as both girls had arrived, and many of them in the audience were excited about the fact that it was a fight between two girls, in other words; a cat-fight.
"Oh, I was born ready." Chilly said.
"Y-yeah." Sakura said nervously.
"Alright, then. Hajime!" Genma said.
"You better stand back, proctor. This could get ugly." Chilly said, causing Sakura to gulp.
Genma then – deciding to take her advice – stepped over to the edge of the battlegrounds, causing Chilly to smile.
"And now…" Chilly said before crossing her arms over her chest, so that her hands were on either side of her head with the index and middle-finger pointing up "Ice Cage!"
Suddenly, a wall of ice rose up from the ground all around them, and it continued to grow until it had formed a perfect dome, covering nearly the entire battleground.
"Now, get ready to become my newest toy." Chilly said with a sadistic grin on her face which would put Orochimaru to shame.

Bio: Having grown up in a time of war, Kakashi graduated from the academy at the mere age of five, and became a student of Konoha's Yellow Flash, Namikaze Minato along with Uchiha Obito and Nohara Rin. Since his own father had committed suicide after abandoning an important mission, Kakashi – in his younger years – believed that the rules were absolute. However, during his first mission as a team leader, his rival, Obito gave him an important lesson; "Those who break the rules are scum, but those who abandon their friends are worse than scum", Obito supposedly died later in the same mission, but not before giving Kakashi one of his newly awakened Sharingan eyes.
