Part 15

The old man wiped a tear from his cheek and cleared his throat before he turned to face the quite large audience. He smiled a bit when he saw tears on most people's faces. He cleared his throat again.

"That was many years ago", he said and let his hand run over the framed picture. "I miss them dearly."

"Are they all dead no", a woman asked.

"Hunter and Sebastian died of old age", the man said. "Years ago."

"And… the third?" a boy asked.

"Thad?" the man asked and now you all know who he is… although if you read the introduction chapter closely enough you already knew.

"Yeah", a man said. "Did he die by his diseases?"

"The diseases was never killing him", Lord Wesley Montgomery said calmly. "It was the lack of hope… but no… no he didn't die from either of it."

"Then what did he die of?" someone called.

"Old age", Wesley said and smiled.

"Did they ever find out your drawing was more than just them as stickmen?" a man asked.

"Thad did, remember how he and I changed in the same room. He told me he knew I lied."

Wesley looked around and decided to let the guide start the tour again. He thanked them for listening and headed for the exit. The museum people asked him if he wanted the drawing and he said no. He had lots of photographs of him and the boys. What Wesley didn't know was that in the museum that very day a Canadian director had been there and had heard his story. Wesley would not live long enough to see that story but those who had heard it… always thought of the old man's story whenever they watched the movie… or the short TV-series that came out on BBC year 2012.

But for Wesley and his friends the story was more than a story. It was their memories, their biggest struggle, their friendship, their dreams, their nightmares… and their lives.

Thank you for coming along for this ride. Stay tuned for more stories. Eraman over and out ;)
