A/N: This is just a short drabble that came to me during my lunch hour at work today. It was just dying to be written. I hope you enjoy it. Your thoughts and comments are most welcome.

Although the wind was roughly blowing and the rain was pounding down hard, she continued to sit there, at the edge of the Black Lake, her long raven hair whipping behind her gracefully as she sat. The funeral was long over, but she refused to go back. Back to the place the place that she knew would be so lonely. To a place where she knew would hold no point to her staying. She stood slowly. Her bones creaking as she did so, the cold chill of the long night having penetrated her body, reaching her soul. Slowly, she made her way to the pure white tomb that encased his empty shell. The hell of the world around her went black as the beautiful woman crumpled to the soft grass beneath her, tears flowing down her thinning cheeks. Her body was giving up. She saw no point to living any more. Her husband ... dead. Her child ... dead. Her family ... dead. She was the last one. The last living McGonagall and no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't find the will to survive any longer. Curling up into a ball, she lay next to the love of her life and wept, whispering, "Albus. Albus. Albus." As her life slipped from her with every breath she took. It could have been minutes, maybe hours. She'd lost count. But she knew that she felt like she was floating. That she didn't have a care in the world.
She was back in McGonagall Manor. All the ones she loved were there; her handsome husband, Albus, her beautiful daughter, Hermione and the rest of her family. They were all surrounding her, welcoming her home. She felt so loved. So at peace. This was how it was meant to be. This was the better place she hoped her loved ones were going to.
This was the happy ending that she had been searching for her whole life.
THE END.
