Chapter 25: An operation all alone

Rin's POV

Aunt Luka suddenly dropped her glass and had an unbelieving look on her face.

Confirmed. She didn't know Gakupo was in Japan. Defoko was toying with her.

"Anything wrong, Aunt Luka?" I asked.

"No, it's nothing, Rin. Do you know where this Gakupo might be?" Aunt Luka asked, and somehow, I hear a bit of desperation from her voice.

Aunt Luka does love Gakupo-san. I'll save her from Defoko, for Teto and to end all of this.

"I'm sorry Aunt Luka, we don't. Oh, Aunt Luka. Could you assist us tomorrow in our plan? Please? We can't succeed alone. Please come." I asked. I hope she agrees.

"If that's the case, then sure. I'll aid you." she said. Yes! Now I have a chance!

"Thank you, Aunt Luka!" I bowed. "That's all we have to say. Miku-nee will fill in the details if you need it. I'll be resting in my room." I said, and when Aunt Luka nodded I went out of her office, with Len following behind me.

When we were walking to our rooms, we came across Miku-nee. "Hey Rin-chan.", she greeted.

I went close to her and whispered. "Did you find what I asked you, Miku-nee?" I turned back and she nodded. She gave me a small folded piece of paper.

"It's all in there, Rin-chan.", she said and smiled.

"Thank you, Miku-nee! You're the best!" I thanked her. I kept the paper on the pocket of my shorts.

"Anything for you. All I'd ask you is to be careful, okay?" Miku-nee gave me a worried look. Knowing what it meant, I smiled at her.

"I'll be fine, Miku-nee."

"I'll be going to Megurine-sama, okay? Len-kun, take her to her room." Miku-nee said. Len agreed and Miku-nee walked towards Aunt Luka's office.

"What's in the paper, Rin?" Len asked.

"Oh, this isn't anything important." I responded.

"Really?" he asked, making sure I wasn't lying.

"I'm serious, don't worry." I reassured.

He placed his arms around my shoulders while we walked. "Hey Rin, don't leave me okay?"

I looked at him and smiled. "Of course, I promise." He smiled back and we stopped walking as we already reached my room. He leaned in for a gentle kiss on my lips before leaving. I was left blushing for five seconds before I came back to my senses. I entered my room.

I have to work on my plans, now.

I took out the small piece of paper and unfolded it, revealing numbers. I took out my phone and dialed the number on the paper.

"Hello? Is this Gakupo-san?" I began.

"Yes, I am. And you are?"

"The blonde girl you helped, the one with the boyfriend. Rin."

"Oh, I remember you! The student from Crypton! And I assume you might need me for something, am I correct?"

Yes. I got it. Only a few more steps.

"Yes, Gakupo-san. I would like to ask a favor. Could you..."

Len's POV

Thank God this day didn't end badly.

Rin managed to convince Luka-sama to go with us, and now she'll be lured to the trap.

But somehow, I sense that Rin has other motives for making Luka-sama come.

The small piece of paper. I'm actually doubting about what she said. I feel like there's some significance of her getting it.

I sighed. I'm currently lying down on my bed, thoughts flooding my mind.

My flooding thoughts were interrupted with a knock on the door. I stood up and opened the door. A smiling Rin welcomed my sight.

"Len, can I talk to you for a while?" she asked.

"Sure, come in." I told her. She went inside my room and sat on my bed. "What do you want to talk about, Rin?"

"Hey... if the time comes and I have to hurt you, don't get mad at me okay?" she said, smiling.

"Sure, but why, Rin?" I ask. I'm starting to get worried.

"Nothing, nothing. I just want you to make me a promise." she said, smiling even more.

I'm getting worried even more as she talks. "Len, don't worry. Now, make me a promise. Promise me... that no matter what may happen... believe in me. Promise me, okay?" she says as she holds out her pinky finger.

I smile at her. "You know, I really feel like you're planning something dangerous by yourself. But...I promise I'll believe you. I'll never waver, I trust you more than anyone." I said, locking my pinky finger with hers.

She grinned and started chanting. "Yubikiri genman~ Uso tsuita~ Harisenbon no masu~"

"Yubikitta.", I finished. We both smiled. (TL: Hooking fingers~ If you tell a lie~ You shall be made to swallow a balloonfish~ fingers hooked.)

"Thank you, Len." she said.

"Sure. But... are you really sure that nothing's going to be wrong?" I asked.

"I'm sure, don't worry Len!" she said. I guess I really can't get it out of her. I'll just believe in her. I did promise her.

"Hey, Len. There's this something I want to do with the mafia after all of this."

Something to do with the mafia? "What is it?"

"I'm planning to join forces with Hagane... and form an organization for peace. I'll call it, the Secret Police!" she said with a grin.

"The Secret Police, huh? That suits us perfectly. We're like heroes in the shadows that fight for peace." I said.

"Would you help me with it, Len?" she asked.

"I'll be more than glad to do so." I said and smiled.

She stood up. "Well, that's it. I'm going to bed. Goodnight, Len."

She started to walk towards my door. Every step she makes made me feel she was going to be taken away from me soon. I unconsciously grabbed her hand and pulled her into a hug.

"L-len? Is something wrong?" she asked. She was blushing hard. Seeing her beautiful face, I leaned in and kissed her. She was startled at first but then she responded to my kisses. She wrapped her arms around my neck, and I placed my right hand on the back of her head, my left hand on her waist. I pulled her closer and kissed her deeper, but with gentleness. Our tongues were dancing with each other. We stopped to breathe.

Both of us had deep blushes scattering our faces. Why I suddenly did that, I did not know. I was just afraid of the fact of Rin leaving me.

"I love you, Rin. Absolutely...never leave me, okay?" I asked, leaning my forehead against hers.

She smiled. "Of course, I'll never, ever leave you. I love you too, Len."

I kissed her forehead. "Alright. Goodnight, Rin."

"Goodnight, Len." she said. She then continued to walk towards my door and went out of my room.

Rin... I wonder what she'll be doing...

I looked outside to see if Rin went inside her room. When she did, I saw Miku-nee going out of Luka-sama's office.

"Len-kun!" she called. She rushed towards me.

"Anything wrong, Miku-nee?" I asked.

"Len-kun, this is something I could only tell to you."

"Huh? What is it about?"

"This is about...Rin's plans."

"W-what does she plan to do?"

She explained everything she knows. My eyes widen at what I learn.

"She only told this to me, and told me to tell you after she does her plan. But still, I can't let her do that dangerous thing. Len, only you can save her. Only you can help her. So please... do what you seem best." she pleaded. Miku-nee loves Rin so much.

"Rin... why..?"

"She's planning to do this. An operation all alone."
