Author's Note: Look! I managed to get another chapter out within a week. I'm trying to get back into my writing habits, so hopefully they'll be coming out more quicker from now on. I really kind of like this chapter, it's takes place in one day just so you know. There are some realizations, cute moments, and some friendly moments. Cat reappears and so does Katie. I'm trying to figure out what to do for the next chapter, so if that's not up by next weekend or so, I'll try to get it out as fast as I can. Enjoy!

Jade tells Kendall to drive her to the beach; it surprises him since she hates it so much, but nonetheless, he agrees to do it. When he sees her walk out the room with her camera it all makes much more sense.

"Now I see why you wanted to go the beach. You want to take some pictures."

Jade nods her head as she grabs her jacket. "Yeah, I haven't taken any photos in a while."

"All the photos up on your wall in your room, did you take them?"

"Yeah,"

"You've got skills."

"I know,"

Kendall rolls his eyes and walks over to her, cupping her face. "Learn to say thank you. It's two words, Jade. Thank. You."

Jade scrunches up her face and moves his hands so she can slide on her jacket. "I say it when I want to."

"You should say it always."

"You and I both know that's not the type of person I am."

He sighs. "Are you ready?"

"Yeah, let's get going, Blondie."

As soon as she steps foot on the sand, Jade immediately starts taking photos of the scenery in front of her. Kendall sits down and watches her; he sees how she gets so into it and how much she loves it. If there was any stress from the break up, it's definitely gone now - he can tell.

"Kendall," Jade says as she walks back over to him.

"Yeah?"

"Come do some poses for me."

Kendall chuckles. "You want me to model for you?"

"Yeah. I have no one else to do it."

"Good point." he says and stands up, walking further along the beach. "Is there any certain way you want me to do this?"

"Not really. Just look out into the distance or out at the ocean or at the sand. Something along those lines. Just don't look at me." Jade explains. "Think you can manage that, Blondie?"

"You're dealing with a professional model here, Jade." he says sarcastically. "I can handle almost anything."

Jade rolls her eyes, but begins taking the photos. They come out really well and she's actually impressed. She never has people in her photos, unless they just so happen to be in the shot, but now she's thinking that she should do this more often. She's not entirely sure if it's because Kendall's actually a good model, or the fact that she's just really great at taking photos; either way, she's loving the way everything is turning out.

After about fifteen minutes of taking photos of Kendall, Jade stops and and begins to go through them.

"How do they look?" Kendall questions, walking over to stand beside her.

"They actually turned out really well." she responds, tilting the camera slightly so he can see the photos as well. "Who would've guessed that you would actually make a decent model?"

"I told you I'm a professional." he laughs.

"I wish it wasn't so early. I would love to take a picture of the sunset."

"Gosh, Jade. Don't sound like a girly girl." Kendall teases.

Jade rolls her eyes at his comment. "Whatever. Let's go."

"Bossy, bossy."

"Don't call me bossy."

"That's just like a bossy person to tell someone not to call them bossy."

"Shut up, Kendall."

Kendall stops suddenly. "Can't we stay here for a while?"

"You sound like a child and you know how I feel about the beach."

Kendall takes the camera from her.

"What are you doing with my camera?"

"Putting it in the car so no one will steal it while we relax and have some fun."

"I'm not staying here, Knight."

Kendall ignores her words and leaves her in her place and walks back to the car and places Jade's camera inside. Turning around, he sees Jade is still in her same spot and he smirks as he makes his way back over to her.

"If you really wanted to leave, you would've made an effort to do so." he says.

"You have the keys. I wouldn't be able to." she points out.

"That's a valid point."

"I know it is. Why do you wanna stay here so badly? There's nothing to do."

"I just enjoy being outside." he tells her with a shrug. "Is that so bad?"

"Yes,"

"You and your snarky attitude."

"It's not an attitude, it's my personality."

"That's virtually the same thing and either way, it's not good."

"And either way, I don't give a damn."

Kendall sighs and shakes his head. "It doesn't matter; I'm not getting into another argument with you."

"We wouldn't have arguments if you would just learn to agree with me or shut your mouth."

"Well, unlike most people you've dealt with; I'm not afraid to stand my ground when it comes to you."

"Just me?"

"Yeah. Just you, actually. No one can piss me off like you can."

"I like that."

"It's not a good thing."

"I take it all in stride no matter what."

"Of course you do." he responds. "Come on, let's go walking."

They stay at the beach for an hour, Kendall having to stop Jade from going back to the car a few times, before they decide to go back to their apartment.

Kendall goes in his room, leaving Jade in the living room, to take a brief nap when his phone rings. Pulling it out of his pocket, he looks at the screen and sees Katie is calling him.

"Hey, baby sister." he greets, sitting down on the edge of his bed.

"Why didn't you tell me you have a crush on Jade?"

Kendall sighs. "I'm gonna kill Camille." he mumbles before responding to Katie. "Because it's not a big deal."

"Yeah. It is. From what I hear, you're practically in love with her."

"I never said I was in love with her."

"I said practically, Kendall. And trust me, you're getting there."

"Katie," Kendall sighs as he falls back onto the rest of the bed. "I know you're my sister and you want to be in the loop about this whole situation, but I really rather not talk about it."

"Why not?"

"Because talking about it actually seems to make me like her even more."

"What's wrong with that? I've told you before, Jade's really cool."

"Jade's also a loose canon."

"A loose canon that you love."

"I don't love her. I mean, I do, I'm just not in love with her."

"You will be. Why don't you just go for it?"

"I just can't."

"Is it because she has a boyfriend? That really shouldn't stop you from telling her."

"She's single. They broke up this morning."

"That's perfect!" Katie exclaims. "Go for it. Ask her out. Tell her how you feel. Do something!"

"Katie, I love you and I appreciate the advice, but I just don't think I'm ready to do that."

"When will you be?"

Kendall pauses, thinking about it. "I don't know."

"You can't keep this bottled up forever, Kendall."

"I know and I won't. I'm just not telling her now. I have a friendship with her and for now that's good enough for me."

"No, it's not. You're just forcing yourself to think that way. You're falling for her but you won't do anything about it. What good is that?"

"It's good for the time being. I'll tell her, I promise. I just won't be doing it anytime soon."

"Any way I can change your mind?"

Kendall shakes his head, but of course Katie can't see it. "No. I don't think there is."

"Okay. I'll leave it alone for now."

"Thank you."

"I gotta get going. Mom wants me to help her outside."

"Okay. I'll call you later. Love you." he says before he hangs up, setting his phone beside him on the bed.

Kendall closes his eyes, thinking. It can't go extremely wrong if he tells Jade how he feels, right? He loves her, he cares about her, he doesn't really see any reason why he shouldn't...wait. He kind of just admitted he loved Jade. There's no doubt that he loves her, but he just admitted that he's in love with her.

"Holy shit." he whispers, his eyes flying open. He's feeling a since of déjà vu from when he realized he had a crush on her. "I love her."

Jade sits on the couch in the living room, gradually growing bored with the show she's watching on TV. There's not much to do and she's contemplating whether or not she actually wants to call Cat up and ask her if she wants to do something with her. It's a little desperate, but since she's about to die of boredom, she'll put up with Cat for a few hours.

She's just about to dial Cat's number when Kendall walks in, taking a seat beside her and looking at her.

"What?"

He takes a deep breath and as soon as he opens his mouth, the words won't come out. He tries it again, but he just can't seem to bring himself to do it.

"Are you...dying or something?" Jade questions, raising an eyebrow at him.

Kendall shakes his head. "No." he says, rolling his eyes at the fact that he was able to say that, but not what he wants to say.

"Then what's your problem? You're acting weird...even for you."

"I just..." he trails off. "I...see what I'm trying to say is..." he looks at her again. "I...I..."

"You what?"

"I...can't do this." Kendall sighs, mad at himself. He gets off the couch and makes his way back to his room.

"Kendall!" Jade calls out, confused with how he's acting. She sets her phone down and follows him down the hall, sitting on the edge of his desk once she's in his room. "What's with the weirdness, Blondie?" she asks.

Kendall sighs, looking at her. "It's nothing. Really."

"It didn't really seem like nothing. You looked like you were about to have a heart attack out there."

"I know, but I'm okay. Don't worry about it."

"You sure?"

He nods his head quickly. "Yeah, I'm fine."

"Okay. Well, I'm gonna drive over to Cat's; see if she wants to hang out. You wanna come?"

"No, but thank you."

Jade nods her head once and walks out his room. Kendall gets up and closes his door, groaning once it's shut. It shouldn't be so hard to tell her how he really feels about her. He never had this problem with Jo. Then again, Jo did most of the important parts in the relationship. He knows he'll have to suck it up eventually and tell Jade how he feels about her eventually, but for now, it doesn't seem like that's going to happen.

Pulling up in Cat's driveway, Jade gets out of the car and to her door, banging on it in the process. Tapping her foot as she waits, Jade lifts her finger to the doorbell where she repeatedly continues to ring it until Cat opens the door.

"Hi, hi." Cat greets, reaching out to hug Jade.

"No," Jade tells her and pushes her arms away, brushing past her and into the house.

"What's up?" Cat asks as she closes the door.

"Nothing, I just needed something to do." responds Jade, walking into Cat's living room and sitting on her couch.

"Are you mad at Kendall?"

"No." Jade answers. "Why?"

"Usually when you ask me to hang out it's because you're mad at him."

"I hung out with him earlier. Plus, he's being weird now. I don't know what the hell his problem is."

Cat takes a seat beside her. "Maybe he feels bad."

"No, he wanted to tell me something and then he didn't and I just don't get what's going on with Blondie at the moment."

Cat goes quiet, thinking, before coming back with, "Maybe he has a girlfriend."

"Cat, that's just dumb. If he had a girlfriend I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be all that difficult for him to tell me."

"That's not all that true."

"Yeah, it is. Also, he told me like a week or so ago that he doesn't really want a girlfriend at the moment."

"He's still not over...what was her name again?"

"Jo and I don't know if he's over her or not."

Cat smiles. "He could always date me. That way we can all double date."

Jade rolls her eyes. "One, he's not interested in you. Two, Daniel and I broke up this morning. Three, I would never go on a double date. I think they're stupid."

"You and Daniel broke up? Why?"

"It just wasn't working out." she shrugs. "Besides, he wasn't really the right guy for me. I need someone who's able to get me."

"You can always date Kendall." Cat sing-songs, poking Jade in the side.

"No. I would never date him."

"But he's nice and cute and he understands you. You two are like a perfect match."

"I don't think so."

"Well, I do. If he won't date me, he should definitely date you."

"Not gonna happen."

"It will. I know it."

Jade sighs. "Why do I even bother with you?"

"Because I'm your best friend." Cat smiles.

"Yeah, whatever."

After three long hours at Cat's house, Jade decides that she can't take it anymore and decides to go back home to Kendall's weirdness. She's not too sure what's going on with him, but she hopes he's done with being weird. After dealing with Cat for three hours, she's really needs for Kendall to be normal.

She steps out of the elevator and walks over to their apartment door, pulling out her keys and opening it. Tossing her things onto the couch when she walks in, Jade walks down the hallway to Kendall's room. She's about to knock, but sees it's slightly open and she can hear him talking on the phone. Of course, being Jade, she decides to eavesdrop.

"Camille, this is serious." Kendall says. "How am I supposed to just come out and say it?"

Jade frowns. Say what? More importantly, say what to who?

"I don't know how she feels about me. It's kind of awkward to just go up to someone and tell them you love them without knowing how they feel about you."

Jade's eyes bug out. Kendall's in love? Why hasn't he told her? It's not that she cares a whole lot, but it would still be a nice thing to know. Who's the girl? Has Jade even met her? She thinks for a brief moment that it could be her, but realizes it sounds more dumb than anything. She's a hundred percent positive that if Kendall was in love with her, he would tell her.

She can hear Kendall sigh. "I don't know. It's just not something I can do at the moment. Not when I don't know how she feels about me."

It's easy to hear the disappointment in his voice and it makes her want to really know who this girl is that's making him this way.

"I'm gonna go. I'll talk to you later." Kendall tells Camille as he hangs up.

Jade walks away from the door and into the kitchen, grabbing a can of soda out of the refrigerator. Kendall comes walking in not too long afterwards and he's surprised to see her.

"I didn't hear you come in."

"You should listen."

Kendall rolls his eyes. "Sorry if my hearing's not that great."

"Don't be a smart-ass."

"Pretty sure you started it, but whatever."

"That's my word."

Kendall steps in front of her, taking the can away from her, looking her in the eye. "Whatever." he says taking a sip of the soda.

Jade pushes him away slightly. "Personal space, Knight."

"Too close for comfort?" he asks, knowingly.

"Is this your failed attempt of trying to intimidate me for some reason?"

"No,"

"Then what are you doing?"

Kendall shrugs. "Not too sure."

Jade sighs and shakes her head, reaching for her soda. "Give me my soda back." she orders, snatching it from him and walking away.

"You could've asked politely."

"But I didn't." she smirks, walking out.

Kendall shakes his head in amusement. This is the girl he's in love with. Sure, most people probably would be scared to go on one date with Jade, let alone be in love with her. He knows deep down inside, she has a sweet side; even if she didn't, he'd still love her. After all, this Jade is the Jade he fell in love with.

"Hopefully one day, my Jade." he says to himself, leaning against the island. "Hopefully."
