sorry it's so short but enjoy!

I drop the cigarette and almost cause a fire in the apartment as I look at Heymans with wide eyes. He looks tired but I can tell he's not an apparition. This is the real deal; Heymans has finally woken up. I walk over to him and sit on the bed as I stare at him.

"It's really you, right? You're really moving around?"

He nods. "Yeah. I'm back."

I can't stop myself from grabbing him into a hug and pulling him close. He wraps his arms around me as well and I almost cry from the relief.

"I thought you would never get out of that stupor! I've been worried sick!"

He chuckles. "I'm sorry. I saw some things that… that I hope to never see again. In all honesty, I think it was a joke."

I pull away from him and shake my head slowly.

"No… it's not. What happened in that shed was real."

Breda's eyes widen as he stares at me.

"So Kain really…"

"Yeah, he is… The Colonel too."

"The Colonel is a chimera too?"

"No he was… altered."

Breda thought for a moment and then flinched, seeming to remember what he thought he forgot.

"I remember now… How is everyone else though?"

"Hawkeye is doing very well and I'm alright but I have to eat all the time. Fuery is living with Hawkeye since Black Hayate is there with her. The Colonel was being watched by Edward but I think they switched him back over to Hughes. The Colonel isn't looking too good."

Breda nods and stretches his arms over his head.

"I'll have to go see everyone. Do you mind if I take a shower?"

"No, go right ahead… I'm just glad you're awake."

Breda nods, getting out of the bed slowly as he tests his weight on his feet. As he moves forward to the bathroom he looks down at himself and then at me.

"I'm hungry."

I smirk and when he is safely in the bathroom, I go to the kitchen to make him something to eat, happy to have my best friend back.

*ROY*

Maes gets me some bigger pants and I change into my regular clothes. It's hard to change with this humongous stomach in my way but at least everything isn't riding up or really tight anymore. I open the door to my room to leave when I see Edward standing in front of the door.

"Fullmetal."

"I… I just wanted to let you know that I didn't say anything about this." I turn my head at him. "It was all Hughes' idea that you be with him instead of us."

"I know." A series of flutters races from under my stomach and I gasp, touching my stomach. "It keeps moving…"

Edward looks at my stomach and the sad look in his eyes shows pity that I don't want or need. For some reason, the look on his face makes me really pissed off and I scoff, turning from him.

"Bye, Fullmetal. You can focus on Fuery now. When you get something tell me."

"Colonel-"

"Maes is waiting for me."

I don't hear him call for me again and I walk as fast as I can to where Maes is talking to one of the nurses about Elisia again, showing his millions of pictures he just so happens to always have on him.

"You done?" I ask.

"Yeah. Bye!"

We leave the hospital and I lean my head against the window as I watch the buildings go by as we go to Maes' house.

"Gracia's happy to take you in and Elicia is excited to see her Uncle Roy."

"They know about me, right?" I ask.

"Yes. I'll warn you that Elicia will probably make a big deal about your stomach so don't get emotional on her or scare her. She's never seen a pregnant lady, lest a man who looks like he is at full term."

"Do you pity me as well?" I ask with a hiss.

Maes looks over and smiles sadly.

"Of course I do. You were changed unnaturally from a crazy man. Of course I pity you but will I treat you with a pity party? No. I know you're strong, Roy."

"Edward doesn't. He thinks I'm something fragile to keep together."

"Edward doesn't think that way, Roy. You're just getting things out of proportion."

I don't know why I am so angry at the fact that Edward feels sorry for me but it irks me to no end at the moment. We pull into Maes' driveway and I get out of the car. The flutters in my stomach happen again and I put my hand over my stomach.

"Moving again?" he asks.

"Yeah… It's odd…"

Maes nods and we go up to the door. He opens the door with his keys and lets me go in first. I haven't been to Maes' house in a long time so all the familiar smells hit me and I smile at the smell of a home. I hear tiny footsteps bound down the stairs and giggling.

"Daddy!" Elicia yells, and I hear Maes picking her up and making ridiculous noises.

"You remember Uncle Roy, right?" Maes says as he sets Elicia down.

Elicia looks up at me and I wave shyly at her. She looks at my stomach and immediately reaches out, almost hugging the disgusting orb. I want so badly to wrench away from her but I endure it and Elicia gasps.

"Daddy! There's something in there!" she says excitedly.

Maes laughs a little forcefully and pulls her away from me.

"That's enough of that now. Go tell your Mother we're here."

She runs off and Maes looks at me skeptically.

"Sorry…"

"You warned me she would do that so I was prepared. Is my room still upstairs?"

"Yeah if you want to make yourself at home… I don't know what Gracia is cooking…"

"I'm actually not very hungry at the moment. Thanks for your help…"

I go up the stairs and lay down in the bed.

*EDWARD*

I go back home to where Al is and open the door to hear Al yelling at something.

"Al? What's going on?"

"N- nothing, Brother!" I heard him say.

I know he's lying though and so I seek him out and find him in a corner sitting there.

"Al, what are you doing?"

"Nothing…"

Mew.

I look at Alphonse and he sheepishly laughs.

"Where's the cat, Al?"

"I don't know what you mean."

Suddenly a tiny kitten head protrudes from his helmet and Al yelps in surprise. The kitten exits his helmet and goes to his shoulder to try and play with the long feather that protruded from the armor.

"You can't have cats in the apartment, Al."

"But he was so cold, Brother. He was happy to drink the milk you won't drink and he's a good kitty."

"Come on, Al…"

"Alright… Come on kitty." He said, plucking the tiny black cat from his shoulder and heading to the door.

I sit on the couch and lean my head back, thinking about what I am going to do now that I don't have to worry about the Colonel and can focus mostly on Fuery. I need to get some of Fuery's blood so that I can test a theory I've been wanting to try. I doubt the lieutenant would be so kind as to let me take blood from Fuery.

"Brother? How was the Colonel?"

I look away. "I don't know. He acted like he was mad at me for something… Al, was I too selfish?"

"About?"

"Wanting to only help us and not Fuery or Mustang?"

Al sat beside me and turned to me.

"You hadn't gotten any sleep and you were only voicing frustration. I know you would never leave them like that if you had a choice. It's true that our objective is the Philosopher's Stone but saving Sergeant Fuery is more important until we have tried everything we can and can't save him."

I nod and lean on the arm of the couch.

"Thanks, Al… That helped me a lot."

"You're welcome, Brother."

*?*?*?*?*

As the Elrics doze off in their quaint little apartment, I watch them with deep interest. I need Edward Elric… I have to have him. My theories are not complete or even experimentally worthy without Edward Elric there… He is my prime subject. I leave the house and walk toward home.
