A/N: I am so sorry for lack of updates! I've been going nuts with school and club tryouts ugh. I have a schedule now so I should be able to update more regularly. I've tried to make amends through abundant fluff.
Enjoy lovelies!
Their lips met. A jolt of electricity ran down Sirius, and he was afraid. Marlene felt as though someone was pouring hot fudge through the top of her head, and the heat filled her with a warm, deep emotion. About to deepen the kiss, neither teenager was prepared for what happened next.
"Would Mister Black and Miss Marlene like anything else?"
Redder than Lily's hair, the pair leapt apart and tried not to glare at the innocent house-elf. Clearing his throat and forcing a smile, Sirius managed to politely say, "We were just about to leave. Thanks Blinky."
Blinky beamed, bowed, and bounced happily towards the ovens. Sadly neither Sirius, nor Marlene could boast such an optimistic persona. Painfully grating her chair back from the small table, Marlene stood. Sirius did the same and appeared to be formulating some idea or plan. Marlene cleared her throat, and tried to start a sentence that went something along the lines of, Hey I know the elf just ruined our moment, but you're pretty fit and I'd like to snog you. Thankfully Sirius saved her from herself by firmly pressing his lips against hers once more. Responding eagerly, Marlene's callused fingers threaded through Sirius's silky hair. Sirius's hands toyed with the ends of her wild mane from their spot at the small of her back. They stood together, kissing in the kitchens until the grandfather clock stationed dutifully above the fireplace warned them it was midnight. Slowly easing to a stop, the pair broke apart. Marlene smiled, Sirius smiled, and they made their way to the common room with entwined hands. The gesture was so simple, it was no wonder it felt familiar. It was this familiarity that Sirius's mind did not fully register the warmth of Marlene's warm, pale, long fingers because his mind had expected them, and most likely would have been acutely aware that her lovely hands were tucked in her pockets rather than wrapped in the safety of his own. It was when lovely Marlene glided up to her dorm, and her equally lovely hands disappeared that Sirius realized he had never held hands with a girl before.
Marlene stepped into the girls' dormitory feeling euphoric. A stupid grin was plastered onto her face like it lived there, and in her world of handsome boys and snitches fluttering in her stomach she slipped into her fuzziest pajamas. Snuggling deeper into her burgundy duvet she slipped into a deep sleep.
Sirius walked to his dormitory in a daze. The soft smile playing across his lips was entirely due to the fact he held hands for the first time with a girl who deserved nothing but the best, and instead settled into his chaotic life with a bright smile. His mind was a blur of golden hair and ocean eyes, but he was able to process two things: her warm, soft lips and her slender, rough hands. He fell asleep to the tune of Here Comes the Sun playing a relentless wave of Marlene.
The next morning came at just the right time. Marlene took the time to tug her curls into something presentable, and Sirius wore his uniform as cleanly as he deemed possible for a seventeen year old boy. They descended the staircase and seamless clasped their hands as they laughed their way to breakfast.
The day was entirely too long and altogether too short. Not so subtle stares were directed at Sirius and Marlene. They were much too similar and too vastly different for anything to work; both Sirius and Marlene had completely disregarded this. They decided they fit just fine together. The summary of the couple was told in History of Magic, to a beaming Lily and an approving James. Dorcas smiled glowingly, and Remus gave Sirius a knowing grin.
Sirius and Marlene reclined in a squashy red couch and watched the ever flickering embers of the fire. Sirius absent-mindedly ran his hand through Marlene's hair, and she snuggled closer to his side.
"You're fantastic, Mar," said Sirius softly.
She blushed sweetly, "Thank you."
"I mean it." He tore his gaze away from the flames, "I'm not sure I made this clear enough, but you're mine. Right Marley?"
She rolled her eyes at this. "Obviously. I wouldn't have let just anyone parade with me about the school," Marlene finally returned his gaze, "You're mine, too, goof. I like you a lot, and you have to stay with me or I shall become very cross."
"I know, I know. You're special, Marlene. I won't mess this up, I promise."
Marlene smiled tenderly. "You won't mess anything up, I feel it."
A disembodied voice was heard singing, "I feel it, I feel it, I FEEEEEEEEL it."
"James you're an idiot,"
"Hey! That was Lily!"
Marlene's eyebrows disappeared beneath her hair. The Invisibility Cloak was dropped, and James appeared with a tomato-resembling Lily in his arms, bridal style. James's grin was blinding and infectious, and soon the two couples were giggling like mad. As the fit died down, and the Heads vanished, Sirius and Marlene resumed their snuggle.
Marlene felt her eyelids grow heavier and soundlessly slipped into slumber. At nearly one o'clock in the morning, Sirius detangled himself from his girlfriend. He smiled as she murmured, and promptly scooped her up into his arms. He placed her on his surprisingly clean bed and after a moment hesitation climbed in next to her,
It was eight o'clock when Marlene awoke. She was disoriented, but quite pleased at the smell of coffee beans and wood smoke surrounding her. Her face was nestled in the crook of Sirius's shoulder, and his arm was draped loosely across her waist. She decided she quite liked her place, and was about to fall back to sleep when the red curtain drew back.
It was James and Remus. They were holding a crude bucket filled with water, and their jaws were agape at the sight of their almost sister in Sirius's bed.
She smiled up at them. "I'll wake him in a moment, give us a few minutes," she whispered. They nodded dumbly and closed the curtains. She pressed her lips to Sirius's and kissed him awake. He smiled sleepily at her. "Morning, Marley."
"Morning, Sirius. Jamie and Remmie will be back in a few, so. . .?" She trailed questioningly. He pulled her closer and whispered gruffly, "Don't care. Stay."
They stayed together until James began banging pots and pans together and bellowing at them and Peter. "ARISE! ARISE YE BEASTS OF THE NIGHT! I SUMMON YOU TO THE EARTHLY MEAL OF BREAKFAST!"
A/N: Taa Daa! James, you crack me up. I really like the idea of Marlene giving the boys baby nicknames they pretend to hate. I hope you enjoyed! Reviews are shirtless Marauders ;D
That was horribly cliché please forgive me, but I won't apologize for the mental image.
