Heeey guys! How is everyone? I thought I'd let you guys know I worked on this instead of my psychology essay.. which is due tomorrow haha. I listened to the catching fire soundtrack awhile writing and it totally motivated me. Thanks so much for the reviews and responses to my private messages! It was brought to my attention in a review that I should change this to rated M. The reason I don't do that is because then my story won't show up on the main hunger games fanfiction feed. I just wanted to make that clear, and I do warn about the sex. I warned that there would be lemons in this story in the very first chapter. Next time there's a lemon I'll be sure to make it clear that you guys know. Sorry if any of you guys are offended by it, I'll make it clearer next time that way you guys can skip over it. There won't be one anytime soon though just letting you all know. I'm not so confident about this chapter. I rewrote it like 3 times so make sure you tell me if it sucks or not. Annnnd I just now noticed in the last chapter I forgot to give it a title... Oops haha. Love you all! Happy reading!

Chapter 14: Water

I shot up and looked around the cave. All her things were still here, all except her ax.

"They took her; we have to go find her." I say.

I start towards the mouth of the cave, Peeta grabs my shoulder.

"Maybe she just took off to hunt down Enobaria." He says.

"She would tell us first." I say immediately.

Peeta opens his mouth to say something; I cut him off before he can.

"She would wake us up. She wouldn't let us just lie here sleeping and defenseless."

Peeta rubs my shoulder soothingly.

"Let's just wait for a little while before we go looking for her. This could be a trap Katniss." He murmurs.

Peeta was right. This could be a trap to draw us out. Everyone wants to kill us after all. I shudder. Peeta and I make a fire to warm our soup over in silence. Peeta comes over and sits by me. He kisses me lightly on the cheek.

"Will you sing?" He asks.

With those three words all the memories of Rue come back to me. She asked me to sing to her as she was dying. Those images flooded my head. Now my innocent little Rue had been turned into a monster by the capitol. Peeta knew I sang Rue to her death, I told him that. I didn't tell him the exact words she had said to me though and he had just repeated them. He sees the look on my face and tucks my hair behind my ear, which had now fallen out of its braid and was in loose waves around my shoulders.

"I didn't mean to upset you, I just thought it would lighten the mood and you know I love your singing voice." He says.

"Maybe later." I tell him.

We eat and wait for Johanna another hour. I look up into Peeta's eyes.

"We have to find her."

He places his hand on the side of my face.

"If I went and looked for her would you stay here?" He asks.

"Not a chance."

He kisses me softly.

"You're too stubborn." He whispers into my lips.

We pack up our little campsite, including all Johanna's things. We ventured outside of the cave slowly, me in front of Peeta with my bow ready. Peeta was armed with a machete that Johanna had found. The forest was quiet, almost too quiet. I looked along the ground for any tracks, drag marks, or anything that would tell us what happened to Johanna. So far I wasn't finding anything. That's when we were ambushed. Cato, Clove, and Gloss came out of the tree line in a flash. Before they are upon us I shoot Gloss in the shoulder. Gloss tackles me to the ground. He pulls his fist back and strikes me in the face. This man is solid muscle, I roll around trying to get free but it's no use. He's sitting right on my rib cage making it hard for me to breathe. To me it was simple why he allied himself with them. Cashmere was killed yesterday, and he didn't want to be alone. Gloss is part of a career pack, and so are Cato and Clove. Instead of killing me Gloss just restrains me.

"Hey, girl on fire, look over here." Cato says.

Cato has Peeta restrained; Clove is holding a knife to his throat. I let out an angry growl of frustration. Peeta has to get out, he must live.

"Remember when you killed me girl on fire?" Cato asks.

Cato's eyes are black. Though he's acting like himself he's clearly the capitols mutt. They all are.

"I already killed Thresh, but don't worry Katniss. I won't kill you. Yet. Just lover boy." Clove says.

Cato pulls Peeta up to his feet. They're standing up so I can see them. No, this isn't happening. I try to fight Gloss off me again. He holds me down tighter and puts all his weight on me. I gasp for air to fill my cramped lungs.

"Go ahead Clove." Cato says.

Clove springs forward and slices Peeta across the chest. He groans in pain.

"Peeta!" I scream.

This is it; they are going to torcher and kill my husband right in front of my very eyes.

"Johanna!" I scream.

She was my last hope. Our last hope.

I hear another scream from Peeta. I know they must have cut him again. Gloss grabs my face to make me watch. I spring up and bite him right in the neck. Gloss flings himself off me howling in pain. I grab my bow and shoot Clove in the chest. Cato lets go of Peeta and rushes to her side.

"Run!" I scream at Peeta.

That's when the earthquake starts. The ground of the arena starts shaking so violently that Peeta and I can't even stand up. Then everything goes black. I can't even see my hand in front of my face.

"Peeta! Where are you?" I scream.

"Right here." A voice murmurs.

He wraps his fingers around mine. His voice sounded so filled with pain. Suddenly everything starts spinning. This black world spins for a few minutes before the ground below us cracks open. Water. I am in water. Am I dead? I try to take a breath and water fills my lungs. Suddenly I'm being pulled up. When I break the water's surface I gasp for air. I'm dragged to land before I finally look up to see who my rescuer is.

"Johanna!" I exclaim.

Johanna is clearly injured. Blood is dripping off her everywhere. She's badly bruised, and looks like she's been beaten and left to die.

"Johanna! What happened!"

"Katniss! Look around!" She screams angrily at me.

I look around and gasp at what I see. The arena has changed into a tropic environment. Just like in the Quarter Quell.

"Where's Peeta?" she asks me.

I spring up and run back into the water.

"Peeta!" I yell.

The water is calm, the only ones around are Johanna and I. Tears fill my eyes.

"Peeta!" I scream trying to choke back a sob in my throat.

"We need to find him quick. They'll do worse to him than what they did to me." Johanna announces.

I fall to my knees and sob into the water. That's when a voice comes over a speaker.

"Attention tributes, due to the change of weather, in the cornucopia we have your wetsuits and other goodies for you. Good luck! And may the odds be ever in your favor!"

Johanna laughs.

"Due to the change of weather, huh?"

Johanna throws her ax in the sand and looks up at the sky.

"Cassandra Snow! You can't just put all your mutt tributes in here to beat up Peeta, Katniss, and I! If you want to beat us up why don't you come and try it yourself!" She screams.

I sit on my knees in the water, staring, hoping that eventually Peeta will pop his head up and be fine. Suddenly I'm electrocuted. Johanna and I scream at the same time.

"Get off the beach!" She yells.

We're electrocuted one more time before we finally run off the beach and into the jungle. Johanna and I collapse in pain on the jungle floor. My whole body is still flowing with electricity. I scream and roll myself up into a ball. What if Peeta was in the water? What if he was electrocuted to death?

"How ironic." Johanna whispers in pain.

That's when it hit me. We were trying to electrocute everyone on the beach in the Quell. I roll over on my back. We laid there until we were recovered. My heart was still beating erratically and I'm sure it would be for a while. I stand up.

"Let's go find Peeta."
