Chapter 7: Family

Little did you know that Christmas is just around the corner. You just snap out of reality when it is two or three days before December 25 because of your friends giving you gifts and people are in the malls shopping for gifts and other things. Christmas is a happy celebration or rather should be a 'happy celebration.' But for you, you don't celebrate it that way.

You were walking the cold, snowy streets of Hokkaido as you head home. You were wearing a thick coat underneath it your school uniform and your unusual very long knee-high socks to keep yourself from the cold.

'It's definitely Christmas,' you told yourself. 'Outside.'

When you reached home, you saw your good-for-nothing father, devouring himself with his beers, cigarettes and nasty women. You didn't know why you were still living your awesome life in that shitty apartment.

'Inside, it's not Christmas.' You sighed.

"Yo [f/n], mind stripping for Daddy?" Your perverted father said.

"Ah, don't let your daughter strip! She got some flat chest over there. We'll be stripping instead since we got nice boobies!" His women started to take their clothes off and you saw a living hell.

"Fuck your life." You replied and went on the kitchen to get some food and go directly upstairs and locked yourself.

'Ah, this house is hell.'

"Ohayou, [f/n]!" A certain navy-blue haired boy greeted you as he entered the classroom. "Why the gloomy face?"

Yukimura Hyouga is your classmate and one of the soccer club members. You are also in that club and you are a substitute player.

"Oh," you said. "Ohayou, Yukimura-kun. Nothing really."

"Hmm, you're lying, right? I can tell."

You rolled your eyes and looked the other way. You didn't want to talk about it now because it will just lead you to harsh words and a sea of tears.

"Let's talk about it some other time."

Time skip. Afternoon practice.

"Fubuki-senpai, can I skip practice today? I guess I'm not feeling so well." You begged to not practice because of your damn problems you, yourself don't know how you got them.

Fubuki grinned. "Alright, but later, we're going to talk."

You nodded. You sat on the bench and observed the team. You looked at the graceful movements of the one and only ace striker of Hakuren Junior High. Okay, so let me get you straight. You actually have feelings for this guy. You liked him, well, simply because he's concerned. He's the type of person who could tell what you're feeling by just looking at your face. Plus, he's pretty cute. (lol)

Afternoon practice ended about an hour ago. You went to the other bench to have a talk with your coach.

"I heard about you, [f/n]." He said in a very serious tone with his arms crossed.

"Fubuki-senpai…I, uhm," hesitating, you replied. " I don't wanna talk about it."

"Yes, we can talk about it. I will not tell anyone and maybe I can help you solve your problem."

You trusted Fubuki and went on telling your story.

"My parents were divorced. I'm living with my heartless father, like I have a choice. Every morning, every night, our house is like a, you know Senpai, a…a...porn bar." You cried and cried. "He even asks me to strip in front of him but I never did that. I am not a slut!"

"What if you escape?" Fubuki handed you a box of tissues. As expected of him.

"He'll kill me. Fubuki-senpai, I just want to live a normal life, free from problems and such and have a complete family! That's my Christmas wish." And that's when you really bursted your tears.

You felt like someone besides Fubuki is listening to you. Someone who's eavesdropping.

"Okay, so, I'll help you. I'll demand your father and have him arrested as well. Is that okay?"

You nodded as a sign of approval. "Thank you, Fubuki-senpai." You somehow had an urge to put on a smile.

"Anytime, [f/n]."

"Why didn't you tell me that your dad's been hurting you?!" Yukimura argued with you as if he knows every single detail.

"What? How did you know? And I don't want to tell you because it's my privacy!"

"I'm your friend, you can tell me anything. Don't hide your problems, [f/n] because you alone can't solve it."

"Why do you act like you know everything?! Don't be such an idiot, Yukimura. You're arrogant!"

"[f/n], I want to help you, can't you see? I'm finding ways to make you get out of that hell!"

"Mind your own business, Yukimura! Don't meddle with other people's life!"

"You don't understand."

"What do I don't understand?! You're the one who do not understand because you don't feel the pain that I'm feeling." You angrily shouted. "In fact, nobody loves me and this is the worst Christmas ever!" Tears fell on your cheeks as you started to run away from Yukimura but you were stopped by a tight grip on your right arm.

"But I love you, [f/n]."

Your eyes widened upon hearing those words. You wanted to put a smile on your face but your tears won't allow you.

"Leave me alone!" You once again ran away from the person who really cares for you. Yukimura let you do what you wanted and he watched you as you leave.

'That girl's so pathetic.' He thought to himself.

You arrived at your hell house from school. Nothing changed. It was the same father, same nude women, same everything! You wished that everyone in that house except you will die on that very same day. Like that will happen.

You thought of your mother. What is she doing right now? Did she forget about you?

Of course, she did. She never cared to visit even once after she left you.

'Family, huh? Like I have one.'

You got your bag and put everything inside it; your clothes, personal stuff and some food. This was the day you planned to escape from hell.

As you went down the staircase, your father noticed you with a big backpack.

"Wher'ya goin' honey? You leavin' Daddy?" He asked in a drunk tone.

You ignored him and kept walking.

"Oh, so you finally gave up? Hahaha! That's my girly!"

"I AM NOT YOUR DAUGHTER. I HATE TO SAY IT BUT I NEVER TREATED YOU LIKE MY FATHER. FORGIVE ME FOR WHAT I'LL DO. I'M TIRED OF YOUR SHIT, YOU OLD HAG."

"Pssh. You really want to die, [f/n]." He stood up and took a hand gun from his pocket and pointed it on you.

"I'm not scared. You never treated me like your family. I'll never come back." You said glaring at him but the truth is, you were trembling at that moment. You never know if he would pull the trigger at any time.

He became dumbstruck when you said those harsh words to him. It was the truth after all. He doesn't need to pity you because he was like that in the first place. It's a better choice to leave him.

"Oh and the cops are going to arrest you soon, old hag."

Yes, you left without hesitation. Now you're wondering on where you will stay for the night. You thought of renting a room in an apartment but your money's not enough.

"Now what," you sighed. "I have nowhere to go."

You sat down on a bench, tucked your cold hands into your coat pocket and gazed at the untroubled people walking around the park. You reminisced the happy moments you had when your family was complete. During Christmas, you ate together, you had fun together, you had no problems. It was only because of your father when things got pretty bad. Your mother left you, your father never cared about you, no one loves you.

But you realized that there was someone who actually has this kind of worried feeling for you.

'Yukimura, huh?'

You blushed when you said his name to yourself. You never understood what you felt about him. Is it love? Or is it just friendship? What?

"Dumbass."

"Who're you calling 'dumbass'?" A familiar figure stood in front of you with his arms crossed. "Am I a dumbass?"

"Geez, Yukimura-kun, no one's a dumbass." You lied. Frantically speaking, he was one but in some sense he isn't.

"And why are you here? Finally escaped, huh?"

Silence filled the air for about a minute. You were still angry at him because of the fact that he was interfering with your personal life. Of course he wanted to help but you sided with the negative.

He sighed deeply. "I know you're looking for a home to stay in. C'mon, I'm bringing you." He grabbed your right hand and tried to drag you. You weren't responding to him because you didn't approve on the first place.

"I won't be depending on somebody else again. I have to move on my own."

"Oh gracious goodness, [f/n], are you starting a fight again? I am offering you a place and then you refuse? I don't get your logic. All I want is for you to be safe."

Your cheeks turned as red as a tomato at an instant you heard those words. You were blinded right from the start. He really does care for you.

"I am an idiot, am I?" You muttered those words while tears started to fall on your gloomy face. He instantly wiped those tears with his thumb and kissed you on your forehead.

"C'mon, someone's waiting for us."

"SURPRISE!"

In front of you were the members of the Hakuren Junior High Soccer Club. As you saw them, you cried a river and approached them. You were such a crybaby!

Everyone partied that night, including you, who were still crying because of what surprised you.

The house was filled with mixed emotions: joy, sorrow, guilt, anger and many more. But no one can beat the happiness in your [e/c] eyes—the happiness you were seeking for from your family for many years.

When the night ended, you quickly took a bath and went to your room to rest because of fatigue. You sat down your bed and curled you legs and hugged them with your arms. You were smiling. It was the best day of your life.

While you were getting ready to sleep, someone knocked on the door.

It was Yukimura. You wondered why he was there.

He sat down beside you and you chatted with each other for about half an hour. You didn't realize that it was that late already so you asked him what was really his purpose.

"Hey it's getting late. Mind if you give me some sleep?" You said in a very sleepy tone.

"Yes, I will but let me tell you something." He grabbed both of your wrists and pinned you down on your bed.

"W-wha—" Before you could even finish your sentence, he kissed you on your lips (which you were not ready to...haha). Your face turned redas he kissed you but you were not holding back. Eventually, you both parted.

"I love you, [f/n]."

"I love you too, Yukimura!"

Because for you, Christmas is about spending time with your family and your loved ones in life.

The next morning, Fubuki knocked on Yukimura's bedroom door but he didn't respond. He forced it open but he saw no one there. He went to your room and also unintentionally opened it and there he saw two sleeping children—both were sweetly next to each other. He grinned at an instant he saw them and quietly closed the door. 'Congratulations, [f/n] and Yukimura!'

Merry Christmas!

A/N: So yeah okay how's that? Kinda rushed though, but I hope you like it! I like reviews you know. Teehee.
