Hi! here's another chapter hope you will enjoy!
Song: Breathe me Sia.
"Bring him in!" One of the Nurses shouted, surrounded in cloud of activity, all around the stretcher who was pushed into the surgery room of the Helicarrier.
"We're bringing him in!" "Clear the entrances!".
Clint and Natasha could only run after them, trying to keep up and ask what was happening.
"Pulse rate weakens again!" "90 mm Hg greater diastolic pressure" "Too much blood loss, Class IV, vitals are failing!".
Natasha pulled one of the nurses away. She had red hair and looked in her mid forties.
"What is happening? Inform us." Natasha ordered voice cold as stone. The nurse didn't looked amused.
The nurse smiled politely. "I'm sorry, but I have-" As she looked in the assassins eyes she knew it was no use. She sighed.
"Okay," She began "Your friend lost a lot of blood, he has severe internal damage, and it's a miracle he is- That we could bring him back."
She waited for the man and woman to take in the information. Then she continued.
"Patients with this amount of blood loss, will almost always present with the classic signs of inadequate perfusion, including marked tachycardia and tachypnea, significant change in mental status, and a measureable fall in systolic blood pressure".
She got two very confused looks. She sighed impatiently and glanced at the doors where her patient was just rolled in.
"Your friend, because of all the blood loss, is now, or was, in shock. hypovolemia is a state of decreased blood volume; more specifically, decrease in volume of blood plasma. It can be... problematic.
Also measurable fall in systolic blood pressure can be fatal.
Tachycardia is a heart rate that exceeds the normal range, and Tachypnea is the condition of rapid breathing. In adult humans at rest, any rate between 12-20 breaths per minute is normal and tachypnea is indicated by a ventilatory rate greater than 20 breaths per minute."
She explained, trying to keep her voice calm. "It will be a miracle if your friend survives. But he surprised us multiple times today, maybe he can prove me wrong."
She smiled. "You can wait in the waiting room, but it's going to be a long surgery."
And then she walked away.
Clint walked thru the silent halls of the Helicarrier. He was searching for Dr. Banner.
It been three hours since the last bit of information about Loki's condition was told to them. Clint and Natasha actually wanted to wait until Loki was stable before informing one of them, but the wait was longer than expected.
But no news was good news or something.
He was told Bruce was with Tony. Tony had became responsive and did actually did way better then the doctors expected.
But he had to stay calm and he was still on fluids.
Well, after the news he was about to give, the calm thing could be forgotten.
As he stood in front of door 52 he hesitated.
And then he pushed the door open.
Tony was sitting straight in his bed, rambling about something to Bruce, while he was reading a book.
Both heads turned at Clint.
Bruce smiled first, and said "Did you find..." but then his smile faded. Just like Tony's.
Clint looked at himself. His clothes were all red. He didn't even think about...
He suddenly felt very ill.
"Yes. Yes Bruce, we found him. But not according to plan."
Tony's eyes had became wide. "Wh- What plan! Who's blood is that!"
"Tony you need to calm down," Bruce said when the heart monitor began to beep franticly.
"No- No! You have to tell me..." Suddenly all the colour from Tony's drained away, as realisation dawned.
"You," He pointed at Clint. "You weren't there when the bomb exploded. Just like- just like Natasha."
He looked at Clint with his famous puppy eyes.
"You weren't there because you were searching for... And that blood is from..."
His eyes were now so wide it looked almost comical if it wasn't for the, oh so serious situation.
"That's Loki's..." He stated softly. Clint nodded, refusing to look Tony or Banner in the eye.
"I'm sorry." He murmured.
When he looked up Tony had bared his teeth in a almost animalistic growl.
"What. Did. You. Do."
"What?" Clint asked. Did Tony think that he... "Oh! No, no, no! I didn't... He was,"
The only thing his mouth could do was choke on his own words.
Bruce stood up. Aura of calmness draped over him as always. "Clint," he started. "Does he live?"
Clint swallowed.
"Yes." He answered . Why was this so hard? He was trained to be hard like steel, and look at him now. Chocking on his words, hand shaking, no rational thought. It was ironic, to say at least.
"Where is he now?" Bruce asked again.
"He is in surgery. Here."
It was silent for a moment. Only the beeping of the heart monitor, that Clint didn't even notice that much.
"How bad is it." Tony asked in a small voice.
And in that moment Clint's heart broke in a million pieces and a strangled sob escaped his lips.
That was enough for Tony.
That was enough.
So please review and tell me if you liked it or absolutely hated it.
