"Wah!" someone called out above us.
"Did you see anything odd on your way down?" Professor Snape asked.
"No, sir," I responded.
"Then let's go. You cannot clear your mind with curiosity."
The terrifying sight that was presented to us was none other than Professor Trelawney. She looked like she had been thrown down the stairs, as had two suitcases by her side.
"You cannot do this to me…" she cried. I edged around to see my greatest nightmare…
"You say you did not expect this? Incapable though you are of predicting who may take offence to your death threats, you must surely have realised that poor performance during an inspection by the High Inquisitor would have you sacked?" her tormentor said. I looked at her in shock.
Amber?
Yep. Amber Granger.
"You can't do this to me! Hogwarts is my home!"
"It was your home… until Cornelius Fudge and Dolores Umbridge signed your Order of Dismissal. You are officially dismissed. You may go now." Amber looked at Trelawney with a sick, twisted grin on her face.
"Not necessarily."
Framed by the front door, was Dumbledore. It was impressive, but I'd like to hear the explanation…
"Miss Granger, what is the meaning of this?"
"Ah, well, you see, Albus, Amber Granger is now the head of the Inquisitorial Squad. She represents my hand whenever I feel like it!"
"And why are you sending Trelawney away?"
"I have decided that Professor Trelawney is not up to snuff. I have sacked her, as is my power under Educational Decree Number 23."
"Of course, you have the power to dismiss my teachers. You lack, however, the power to banish them from the grounds. That power remains in the hands of the Headmaster." Dumbledore gave a quick series of gestures, and Professor Trelawney was moved back to her lodgings.
"And what will you do when I appoint a new Divination teacher who needs her lodgings?"
"I've found us a new teacher already, and he will prefer lodgings on the ground floor," Dumbledore explained, gesturing to the door. Coming in was a centaur. "His name is Firenze."
"Amber Paula Granger! How could you join that Umbridge b… witch?" Hermione started the argument.
"Granger, the reason is very simple. I remembered that what I thought was Riddle's return was just a grief-induced hallucination from Cedric's death."
"Amber..."
"Don't Amber me, Weasley. There is nothing you can do short of admitting you two are in the wrong. Riddle has not returned, and he never will."
"AMBER PAULA GRANGER, YOU LISTEN TO ME RIGHT NOW! VOLDEMORT DID RETURN, AND YOU KNOW IT!" I roared. Amber didn't even flinch.
"I guess this is where we part ways. I'll go find Darion." Amber turned on her heel, and left the room.
"Seriously? Her middle name is Paula?"
"Don't get me started on that…"
Short, but important. Amber's betrayal is a big deal.
This, apparently, is another school update: a double update. I, uh... don't have as much time at home. We're doing a huge Lego project: The Millenium Falcon. If you saw the box of pieces, you'd understand.
Expect some delays for later chapters. I don't have time for subscriptions, I'm not sure about watching the Half-Blood Prince, and school ends on the 19th.
Neither can live while the other survives.
