As me and Harry sat, watching the comings and goings of Hogwarts, Professor Slughorn passed by us. He flinched slightly, and went faster by us.

"You know, I bet he helped Lily a lot more than he's helping you…"

"Lily… Mom. Of course! Why didn't I think of this?" Harry cheered.

"Huh?"

"Listen, Ginny… is it possible for humans to switch their facial features in the magical world?"

"Well, yes. There's Polyjuice, there's…"

"Not like that. If we could switch eyes…"

"Yes. The Vultus Verto. If I cast the Vultus Verto and get your eyes…"

"You'd look just like my mother, and you could coerce the memory faster than you could say He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named!"

"…Even Lockhart wouldn't be that thick, though. He wouldn't fall for that."

"Then you can borrow some of my Felix Felicis, and you'll be lucky enough for him to believe you." Harry was determined to see this plan work.

"Worth a shot."

Me and Harry went into the dormitory. Ron was in charge of keeping the others out. We were risking a lot as it was.

"Verto Vultus Oculus," I casted, pointing at Harry's face. I closed my eyes, as they began to grow warm. It took a while, but then I could open my eyes. I saw Harry sitting across from me, but this wasn't the Harry I remembered. His eyes, instead of being bottle green, were a shade of hazel, and shaped differently.

"It worked. And let me say, you look cute with my eyes," Harry flirted a little.

"Thanks, but my eyes don't really suit you, though. I'll need the potion, too," I told him, perhaps a bit forcefully, but I got my meaning across. Harry shrugged, having seen James himself, and slung me the Felix Felicis.

"I don't need all of these hours. I'll only take three…" I said, measuring about three hours' worth. I gulped it down in one swallow.

"What's it like?"

"Like I could do anything I felt like… but I'm not going to waste it having the time of our life in here. I've got to get the memory…"

As I walked to wherever my destination was supposed to be, I chose to walk past the greenhouses. They weren't strictly on my route, but I supposed it wouldn't do any harm. Indeed, I bumped into Slughorn on my route.

"Merlin's beard! If it isn't… Lily Evans? I thought you were dead!"

"The report of my death was an exaggeration. I was, how you say, reincarnated."

"But… but…"

"Now, now, Horace. Let us not go into so much detail, and focus on what an unexpected surprise it is to see me alive again!"

"Ah… I suppose I can do that, Lily. It is only fair. But what about your son?"

"Met him and his girlfriend today. That was actually the point of me coming. I've just got one thing I must do before I leave, and I request that you join me."

"What is it, Lily. Anything you want help with is my job to accomplish."

"You see, Harry's friend… Hagrid, he's had a pet spider for a long time. Over fifty years. It died, a few days ago I think, and Hagrid wanted it buried at sunset. Since the others thought it too risky to come this late, I thought I might give it a visit."

"You are just as compassionate now as when you came to Hogwarts, Lily. I'll come, but first I should, you know, give a few preparations. Change my tie, grab a few bottles, and the like. Lily, would you join me?"

"No thanks. Thanks for the offer, but I think I'll go straight to Hagrid's."

This should not be working.

This is working, and you should not be attempting to think otherwise.

I walked along to Hagrid's hut. I didn't know who's idea it was to go attend Hagrid's funeral (me or Felix), but it was apparently the correct decision. I knocked on the door, and waited.

"Hello… wait, who're'you?" Hagrid asked.

"Lily Evans, Professor Hagrid. Harry's mother… in a manner of speaking."

"Lily? You're alive?"

"Reincarnated after that day. May I come in?"

"Sure," I entered Hagrid's hut. Looking around in awe, I decided on continuing.

"I'm not your only guest, Hagrid,"

"Call me Rubeus, m'girl."

"Yes, Rubeus, Horace will be here shortly. He's just gone to collect a few items fit for a funeral."

"Of course."

Horace arrived after about twenty minutes.

"Sorry m'late, Hagrid. After what happened to poor Rupert, I had to do some quality testing."

"Of course. Wouldn't want Lily to die again, would we?"

"My thoughts exactly!" Horace seemed particularly happy for a sad period. I thought about why for a second, before he elaborated.

"Hagrid, would you be particularly offended if I procured a sample of Acromantula venom… purely for academic purposes, of course?"

"Sure. Not gonna do him much good now, is it?"

"My thoughts exactly!" Horace was particularly agreeable, and started fiddling with the head of Aragog for a second. Or several.

"I'm done now, Hagrid. Lily, would you like to give the service?"

"Oh… uh… Farewell… Aragog?"

"Yeah, Aragog."

"Farewell, Aragog, king of the Acromantula. Though your body may decay, you spirit will forever linger in your web-spun Forest home, as well as in the hearts of the humans which you have befriended." I knew the speech sucked, but I had a little bias. Dumb spider tried to eat Harry, what was I supposed to do?

"That… was… beautiful! I'll quickly bury the beast, and we'll go drink to the beast's… well… spirit." Nobody's a critic…

Horace and Rubeus spent plenty of time drinking. Subtly, I neither drank, nor let the supply run out. I knew exactly what to do. Now that Rubeus was asleep, I leaned forward.

"Horace… I ask you this, not as a student, but as a friend… Harry has mentioned a memory that you possess, and he needs to view."

"Lily… I can't… I don't know how much damage I caused on that fateful day… I can't bring myself to let it be known again…"

"Whatever damage you caused that day will be repaired, if you'd just give me that memory! Harry needs to know… I need to know!" I panicked.

"Lily… why on earth would you need to know?"

"I am not Lily… I'm Ginny. I look like her, though…" I started, knowing that Slughorn wouldn't remember what I was about to reveal.

"We are the Chosen Trio. Me, Harry and Amber. We need to know what Tom Riddle's weak point is, how we can defeat him!"

"He wouldn't have told me?"

"Please? You'd know Lily would love it if you'd help her son just a little, as you helped her so much more…"

Horace sighed. He knew what he had to do. I pulled out a flask carefully designed for this. Horace took out his wand, touched it to his temple, and pulled out a string of memory. Slowly, carefully, he drew it towards the flask, and deposited it.

"Lily would be proud of you, for defeating him. Please do it…"

Yep. Ginny just passed off being Lily. What are the odds?

If it wasn't for the first person perspective, I think I might have called Ginny Lily in the narration. But then again, I can't have the mental arguments without first person.

Did anyone else think Ginny looked enough like Lily for this to work?

Two must fall to the hand of one...
