A/N: I am soooo sorry this took so long to update. Unfortunately, real life got in the way – Boo!
Amy had been gone for 10 minutes as Sheldon wandered aimlessly knowing he was supposed to be cleaning up, a blank stare blazed across his face. His thoughts were jumbled, this never happened to Dr. Sheldon Cooper. How long had she been gone? It felt like hours to him.
"Alright Cooper, you've got to get yourself together." Desperately talking himself down from the edge of a panic attack. His thoughts were interrupted by Amy's key jumbling in the doorknob and that sound alone made his heart drop into his stomach.
"Sorry, I went as fast as possible. I drank 4 Gatorades waiting in line so we've got to do this now." Amy didn't look Sheldon in the face. She had already dropped her bag, unpacked her purchases, and was pulling off her tights on the way to the bathroom. Sheldon stood still in the same spot he was in when she opened the door. Should he follow her?
"Amy? What should I do? Do you need my help?" Confused on how to handle this social interaction.
"Do I need help peeing? No, I think I've got it. Give me a minute to wash my hands and I'll be out." Amy chirped back. She didn't mean to sound harsh but she was just as stressed as he was.
Amy opened the door and Sheldon approached her searching her face for answers. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to snap at you, I am just nervous." Amy placed her hand on Sheldon's shoulder to emphasize her apology.
"So, what's the verdict?" Sheldon's tone was noticeably impatient.
"We have two more minutes until we can check it, I have the timer set on my phone." Amy was fumbling her phone in her hands.
"You know, if it is positive, we have options. I mean, we don't have to go through with it." Amy was staring at her feet afraid to meet Sheldon's eyes.
"Amy Farrah Fowler, we do not have a choice. If it is positive, we will raise this child, we can't throw away the potential genius. And we did this together." Amy jumped momentarily as Sheldon placed his hand on her stomach and looked down at her with a look she had never seen, tenderness. She smiled and in that moment she was the happiest she had ever been.
"Okay, time to check." Amy silenced her phone. "Do you want me to look first or do you want to look together?" Amy grabbed Sheldon's hand tight as she asked.
"I want to go look myself, first." He didn't wait for an answer as he walked toward the bathroom. Amy stood motionless waiting for her Sweet Babboo's face to come around the corner.
"Well?" Amy pleaded as she saw Sheldon's unreadable expression. "What did it say?!"
"Amy, I know I haven't been the best boyfriend in the past but I promise you that I will do everything to take care of you and our baby. I love you and our little progeny."
"It's positive?!" Amy was crying with joy after Sheldon's unexpected reaction.
"We're going to be a mommy and a daddy!" Sheldon smiled although his anxiety was still running rampant through his endocrine system. He was nearly paralyzed with fear but had to be strong for Amy.
Before Sheldon knew what was happening, Amy jumped up and wrapped her legs around his waist and arms around his neck. Amy planted the mother of all kisses on Sheldon. "I love you, Sheldon." He didn't need to say it back, the look on his face conveyed it perfectly as he held Amy up and they sat forehead to forehead, smiling.
