December 26th….

Naruto was currently sitting on his couch in his living room. He threw his head back and let out a frustrated sigh. It was a relief that he was able to find Hinata a Christmas gift but during the party he was reminded that his girlfriend's birthday was only a few days away. And now he was stuck in the same exact dilemma.

What was he going to get Hinata?

"Ugh, why does it have to be so hard?" He said out loud.

"What's hard?"

Naruto looked over his shoulder and saw his girlfriend walking down the stairs in a pair of shorts and one of his tshirts. She was always borrowing his clothes whenever she spent the night.

"Oh..um…work." Naruto thought up quickly.

Hinata gave the blonde a kiss on the cheek before walking around to join him on the couch. She curled up next to him and allowed Naruto to wrap his arm around her shoulders. "I can understand that. Being Hokage must be really hard, but at least you have the next few days off."

"True but you never really get the day off. ANBU can come in at any moment to call me in for an emergency."

"Well then let's not think about it. Instead let's enjoy the time while we have it."

"Which reminds me.." Naruto gave her shoulders a squeeze. "Someone's birthday is coming up." Naruto waited for a reaction but nothing came. "Hey are you okay?"

"I am. Sorry its just that I don't want people making a big deal out it that's all."

Naruto pulled back and gave her a look.

"It's just that we had our Christmas celebration a few days ago and I don't want my friends to worry about getting me something for my silly little birthday."

"First off, My girlfriend's birthday is not silly or little. And secondly, your friends all love you and want to celebrate your birthday."

Hinata wanted to argue but she saw the look in the blonde's eye and closed her mouth. She knew better than to argue when he had that look in his eye.

It was actually one of the many looks that she fell in love with, one of such determination.

"Alright, well I guess we can do something small like a dinner."

Naruto smiled in triumph.

Hinata then stood up. "I'm going to change quickly then head back to the house and change into new clothes and then after that I have some errands to run and then a Clan meeting in the evening."

"Aw those things usually go late into the night." Naruto complained.

"Yes, I know but as the head of the clan its sort of my job to go to them." Hinata smiled. "And don't you worry I'll make you something to eat before the meeting."

"You really don't have to do that."

"But I want to."

"You are to good for me you know that."

"I know." Hinata joked before giving the blonde a quick kiss before heading upstairs to change.

Naruto was always trying to convince her to keep some clothes at his place but she always forgot and had to wear her same clothes that she had the day before. She was always running back and forth from his house to the Hyuga compound.

He was in the kitchen making himself some ramen when he heard Hinata running down the stairs.

"See ya sweetheart."

"Bye princess."

He poured the hot water into the cup and the aroma of the noodles engulfed him. "Ahhhh," He took a big slurp. "It's not Hinata's but its still tasty." Naruto went and sat down to think more about what he was going to do for Hinata's birthday.

He gave her the bracelet for Christmas so he didn't really want to give her another piece of jewelry. He wanted to do something different. Something special. Naruto was still getting over how amazing her gift to him was. Hinata had gone through so much to find a picture of his parents and it really meant the world to him. It was now one of his price processions.

Just then he heard his front door open. He quickly jumped up and posed ready for an attack.

"Sorry!" The voice called out. It made Naruto instantly relax. "I just forgot something."

He heard Hinata run up the stairs and then back down once again. And then she came into the kitchen.

"I still don't get why you don't just leave a bag here." Naruto chuckled.

"I would love to. It would make my life so much easier. This running back and forth is rather annoying."

That's when it hit him. The perfect gift to give Hinata.

"Well now I really need to get going." Hinata gave Naruto a kiss and then headed out the door.

Not a moment later Naruto was out the door as well. He had some shopping to do as well as some organizing to do

December 27th (also known as Hinata's Birthday)….

"How's this outfit?" Hinata walked out wearing a pair of jeans and a white blouse.

Naruto shook his head. "Nope."
Hinata let out an aggravated sigh. "I don't see why this isn't good."

The couple was currently in Hinata's bedroom. Naruto was sitting on her bed while she came out in different outfits. She had already tried on three different ones and all of them were given a thumbs down.

Hinata came out in a different outfit but Naruto shook his head as well.

Hinata's shoulders slumped. "Well then how about you just pick out the outfit then."

"I thought you would never ask." Naruto walked passed his girlfriend and headed for the closet.

A few minutes later Naruto came out holding a dress.

"You want me to wear that?" Hinata looked at him oddly.

"Yeah." Naruto looked at the dress. "You don't like it?"

He was holding up a spaghetti strapped mini dress that came about mid-thigh.

"I think it's cool how its changes from purple on the top and goes down to lavender on the bottom."

"That's called ombre." Hinata walked up and looked at the dress more closely.

"You don't like it." Naruto looked down in defeat.

"No NO! It's not that. It's just a little dressier then I expected. Actually this was a present from my sister for my birthday."

"Then what better time to wear it then for your birthday party." Naruto smiled.

"You're right. I'll go change, but what about you? We are going to look rather odd with me wearing such a nice dress and you in your everyday clothes."

"Don't worry about that. This is your day so dress for it."

Hinata gave him a smile before heading for the bathroom.

Naruto took his seat back on the bed and smiled.

Everything was going as planned.

The day started off well. He actually got up before Hinata and surprised her in bed with her favorite breakfast pastry. Then they spent the day together walking through the park and having a sparring match. After they had a good workout, Hinata went back to the Hyuga Compound to celebrate a bit with her family and that gave Naruto time to finish off everything before meeting back up with her.

"So what do you think?" Hinata stepped out wearing the dress along with a pair of black heels as well as the bracelet that Naruto had given her and the earrings given to her by her sensei. She then curled her hair and let it cascade down her back. Overall she looked amazing.

"I think that I am pretty dense to never realizing how truly gorgeous you are until this year. You look absolutely stunning. Believe it!"

Hinata couldn't help but blush. "Thank you. Are you ready to go?"

"Yep! Oh and before I forget. We are supposed to meet up with Neji and Tenten so we can go to the restaurant together."

"Okay."

Naruto took Hinata's hand and the couple headed out the door.

Knock knock

Hinata stood in front of Tenten's house and continued to wait for an answer but one never came.

"No one is answering. Maybe I should check with my eyes."

Naruto knew what was about to happen and Hinata's byakugan could ruin the whole thing. "WAIT!" Naruto jumping in front of her. "T-that would be rude don't you think." Naruto let out an awkward laugh and rubbed the back of his head.

"You're right. But what do you suggest?"

"Let's just walk in. We have done it before. I'm sure that they wouldn't mind."

"Alright." Hinata stepped around Naruto and opened the door.

At first the place was completely dark. "Hello?" Hinata called out and then the lights came on.

"SURPRISE!"

Hinata let out a small eep and took a step back in surprise but Naruto was there and wrapped his arm around her.

"Happy Birthday Hinata!"

Everyone clapped and cheered.

"All of this for me?" Hinata was shocked.

"Of course!" Kiba came up and gave her a hug. "It was a little bit of a shock that Naruto was able to come up with this all on his own."

"Hey." Naruto put his hands on his hips. "It's not that shocking."

The whole room began to laugh.

"Now come on." Naruto took Hinata's hand. "Everyone wants to talk to the birthday girl."

Everyone was having a fun time. They were all talking and laughing and just enjoying life.

"Alright everyone!" The room went silent and all eyes went to Ino. "Now that we had the birthday cake its time for presents! Come on up Hinata."

Hinata pushed through the people and came up.

"You sit here." Ino placed Hinata in a chair in front of everyone else who were sitting and standing around her.

Naruto sat on one of the couches along with Sasuke, Shikamaru, and Kakashi.

"Which one do you want to open first?" Sakura asked.

"It doesn't matter to me. Honestly you really didn't have to buy me anything."

"We wanted to sweetie." Kurenai smiled at Hinata while holding her child.

"Open mine first Hinata!" Lee called out. He then pulled out a box wrapped in green wrapping paper.

He placed it in her lap.

"Oh!" Hinata gasped a little. "It' heavy." She slowly opened the box with Lee standing nearby his hands clasped together in anticipation.

"They're….um…leg weights." Hinata pulled out the weights and the entire room sweatdropped.

"Yes!" Lee called out. "So you can become even stronger and even fuller of youth!"

Hinata gave him a small smile. "Thank you Lee. They are very nice."

"NOOO!" Everyone turned to look at Gai, who for some reason was crying. "You have beat me my dear Lee."

"What do you mean dear sensei?"

Gai pulled out a present that looked that same as Lee's did. "I too bought our dear Hinata a set of leg weights." This made the group sweatdrop again. "But you beat me to it."

Now Lee began to cry. "I am so sorry sensei. I did not mean to."

And then Gai struck a pose. "Not to worry. In honor of my defeat I will run a thousand laps around the village tomorrow at sunrise."

"Will you allow me to join you sensei?"

Gai gave him a cheesy smile and a thumbs up. "Of course I will."

"SENSAI!"

"LEE!"
The two would have continued if Tenten had not come in and hit them both on top of their heads. "Will you to stop it. This is Hinata's day." A vein was throbbing on her forehead.

"S-sorry" They mumbled out.

Hinata simply giggled at their antics.

Tenten then turned back around and gave her a smile. "How about I give you my present next." She gave Hinata a small gift bag.

"Thank you." Hinata then pulled out a small scroll.

"Inside are some of the best and sharpest shuriken and kunai in all of Konoha." The weapons mistress boasted. "I made them myself."

"Thank you so much Tenten. Hinata stood up and gave her a hug. I always need more of these."

"Since the rest of my team has given you their gifts, I'll give you mine." Neji handed Hinata a neatly wrapped box. "Happy birthday cousin."

"Thank you Nii-san." Hinata tore away the paper and opened the box.

Inside was a gorgeous lavender silk kimono and on the back was the Hyuga Crest, the yin-yang symbol.

"Every clan leader needs a kimono." Neji said.

Hinata could feel the tears building up. Neji and she had grown extremely close of the years and she was so relieved to know that he supported her position as the head even though she thought that he would be better at it. "I love it." She ran over and gave him a hug."

"I think it's Team Asuma's turn now." Ino called out.

"Here you go Hinata." Chouji walked up and handed Hinata her gift.

Before she even opened it, Hinata could smell the cinnamon and sugar.

"They're cinnamon buns from Konoha's best bakery. They have the Akimichi stamp of approval."

"That really means something." Ino whispered to Sakura.

"Thank you Chouji. Cinnamon buns are my favorite."

"Here's my gift." Shikamaru walked up and handed Hinata a bouquet of white lilies.

"Thank you." Hinata took a whiff. "They smell lovely."

"Flowers? Seriously Nara?" Sakura shook her head. "Can you be any lazier?"

"I know." Ino agreed. "He literally walked into my family's shop today and asked for something girly."

"Well I still think they are lovely." Hinata came to the shadow user's defense.

"But now it's my turn." Ino ran up and gave Hinata a box. "It's a gift for you but also one for Naruto as well." She whispered and gave Hinata a wink.

Hinata gave her a confused look before opening the package.

Slowly Hinata held up a black laced lingerie.

Naruto's eyes went wide when he looked at the piece and he immediately began to imagine Hinata in the get up. He then clamped his hand over his nose when he felt a nose bleed coming. He looked over the others and from the looks on their faces he had no doubt that they were imagining the same thing.

He was about to shout at them but then he saw Hinata in the corner of his eye. He turned as saw that she was beet red and swaying a bit. Naruto knew what was about to happen next. In a flash he was kneeling next to her and fanning her face.

"Easy Hinata." He said calmly. Ignoring the small amount of blood that was dripped from his nose. "Take deep calming breaths."

"Geez Ino." Sakura turned to the blonde. "Are you trying to give Hinata a heart attack?"

"Sorry. I just thought it would be a good gift since she and Naruto are finally dating."

"I think she's going to look damn sexy in it." Hanabi came in laughing a bit. "And I think all the men agree with me."

"Hanabi." Neji scolded even though he had a light blush on his cheeks. "That's your sister and the head of the clan. Do not say such things."

Hanabi simply rolled her eyes. "Say what you want but my sister is HOT! Just look how fine she is in the dress I got her for her birthday."

The two were about to argue but were stopped when they heard Hinata.

"Please stop you two. And thank you Ino for the gift. It's rather….nice."

The blonde girl beamed.

"Well how about we move past that and to something more appropriate." Sakura gave Ino a look before turning back and smiling at Hinata. "Happy Birthday."

Hinata nodded and took the gift bag. Inside was a mixture of different jars filled with different substances.

"They're all medical ointment." Sakura explained. "I know that you are always trying new ones out. And the large one is supposedly good for your hands after using chakra."

"Thank you Sakura. I'm sure I will be using them very soon."

"Yeah on Naruto." Sasuke mumbled but the room heard and chuckled.

Naruto, who was now standing behind Hinata with his hand on her shoulder, gave the group a glare. "Watch it teme."

Sasuke simply shrugged and walked up to give Hinata his own gift. "Happy Birthday."

"Thank you Sasuke" Hinata took the box and began to unwrap it.

"It's a jacket." Hinata held up the garment for everyone to see.

It looked similar to Hinata's usual jacket with its lavender and light grey but it was obviously better fitted to Hinata's body. And it even had her symbol on the back of it.

"Wow." Naruot whistled. "I'm really impressed. Didn't think you had it in you teme."

"Some people are able to think further then instant ramen dobe." Sasuke retorted.

Before the two could begin to argue Sai walked up to Hinata. "Is it my turn?"

Hinata smiled at the artist and nodded. He then handed her a package wrapped in simple paper.

"It seems to be some type of book."

"Shocker." Naruto mumbled

Hinata opened the book and gasped. "It's a photobook."

Sai nodded. "I planned on giving you a book on love and sex but Kakashi told me that his gift would cover that, so I did this instead."

Hinata gave him a look before opening the book.

On the very first page was a picture of Hinata and Naruto kissing at the Christmas party a few days ago. Hinata continued to flip through the pictures. There were photos of her with Naruto as well as ones with her family and friends. Even one from earlier in the evening when Hinata was surprised.

"Where did these all come from?" Naruto asked.

"I was given a camera from Kakashi-sensei for Christmas." Sai explained. "He told me that I needed to do something more than just read books."

"Like he has room to talk." Naruto scoffed.

"So I decided to begin by taking photos of you and dickless since you seemed so interesting."

"Well thank you Sai." Hinata closed the book. "This is very thoughtful of you."

Sai gave her one of his odd looking smiles. "You're welcome princess."

"HEY!" Naruto called out. "That's my nickname for her."

"Actually I have been calling her that for a long time because she is so nice and kind and reminds me of the princesses I read about in my books."

Hinata nodded. "It's true. He has been calling me that since we met."

Naruto looked like a wounded puppy.

"But its not the same as when you call me princess." Hinata added and that seemed to cheer him up.

"Guess it's my turn." Kakashi came and handed Hinata a bag. "I didn't have time to wrap. I got busy with…"

"Yeah, yeah, we've heard it before." Naruto cut him off.

Hinata then pulled out a familiar looking orange book.

"You gave me such an amazing gift for Christmas I figured that it was only fair for me to do that same so I got you a first edition of Icha Icha Paradise. Thought that you might be interested in it as well."

For the second time that night Hinata looked like she was about to faint. Naruto was there to fan her but he gave his sensei a look. "You are such a perv sensei."

Kakahsi shrugged. "My apologizes."

Hinata got herself together. "Thank you Kakashi-sensei. I know this is something very close to you personally."

"Now that's over with, let the real gifts begin." Kiba walked forward along with Akamaru and handed Hinata an envelope.

Hinata opened it and inside was a picture of a dog with a litter of puppies.

"What is Hinata supposed to do with this?" Naruto asked as he looked over Hinata's shoulder.

Kiba gave him a look. "Let me explain. This is a picture of Akamaru's mate and her litter. And we want you to have the first pick."

"A puppy?" Hinata looked at him.

Kiba nodded. "Yep. And we will even help you train it."

Naruto gulped. A puppy was a lot of responsibility but it could be worse. It could have been a cat.

"Thank you Kiba." Hinata gave him a hug. "I can't wait to meet them." She bent down and patted Akamaru on the head. "And thank you. I bet you are a very proud dad."

"My turn." Shino walked up and handed Hinata a small box.

Hinata opened it to reveal a purple butterfly encased in what looked like glass.

"This is a special homing butterfly." Shino explained. "Always carry this with you and if you are even in trouble just send a bit of chakra through it and the crystal will break, setting the butterfly free. It will then find me no matter where I am."

Hinata gave him a hug. "Thank you Shino. I will feel much better on missions knowing I have something like this with me."

"Here's my girl and I's gift." Kurenai handed Hinata a bag.

Inside was a large frame with different pictures of Team 8 growing up through the ages. There were pictures of them training when they were just genin to recent pictures of them in their jounin vests.

"This is amazing sensei." Hinata ran up and gave the woman a large hug. "And thank you sweetie." Hinata kissed the youngster on the cheek making her laugh.

"All these gifts are amazing. Thank you everyone." Hinata said to the crowd.

"Now all that's left is Naruto's." Ino said making the group look at the blonde.

"Unless he forgot." Sakura added.

"Of course I didn't forget." Naruto defended. He then went into his pocket and pulled out something small wrapped in orange paper. "Happy birthday princess."

Hinata delicately unrapped the gift.

It was a silver keychain with a letter 'H' on it.

"A keychain." Ino said without much excitement. "That was really the best you could come up with?"

"Even Sai's gift had more thought in it."

"I think its lovely." Hinata said. "This and the fact that he came up with this party is a great gift." She walked over and gave the blonde a hug and kiss. "Thank you Naruto."

The blonde smiled and kissed his girlfriend back.

Shortly after that everyone parted ways and headed back to their homes.

Now Naruto and Hinata were cuddling on the couch in front of the fire in Naruto's living room.

"So how was your birthday?" Naruto asked.

"It was probably the best one I have ever had. There is really no way to beat it."

"Are you sure about that? I know that my present wasn't the best." Naruto scratched the back of his head.

Hinata pulled back to look Naruto in the eyes. "I thought that the keychain was nice. I love it."

"Really?" Naruto gave her a look.

"Yes. Now I'm never going to lose the keys to the Hyuga Compound."

Naruto gave her a look. "That's really not the keys I thought you would use the keychain for."

Hinata tilted her head and gave Naruto a look of confusion. "What other keys would I use it for?"

Naruto then pulled something out of his pocket. It was a key hanging from a red ribbon. "I was hoping that it would be my house."

Hinata covered her mouth with her hands.

"Hinata…will you move in with me?"

Hinata could feel the tears forming as she nodded her head. Naruto grinned and placed the key in her hands.

"Are you sure about this?" Hinata looked up at the blonde. "We haven't been dating for that long."

Naruto nodded. "Absolutely. Even though it has only been a few months you have become such an important part of my life. You really mean a lot to me and it would make me happy to know that it was you that I came home to every night. So what do you say?" Naruto gave her a smile. "Move it with me?"

Hinata didn't answer. Instead she jumped on top of the blonde and gave him a deep passionate kiss. When the two broke apart to breath Naruto couldn't help but laugh. "I'll take that as a yes."

"Of course it is!"

"Happy birthday Hinata." Naruto gave her another kiss. "I love you."
