Three weeks later and Amy's reality was settling in as she had her head in the toilet trying not to vomit the doughnut she just ate. She felt a hand gently rubbing her back and pushing her hair behind her ears. Sheldon had stayed the night since they had a doctor's appointment early in the morning.

"Sheldon, you don't have to be in here. I know you hate seeing stuff like this." Amy felt guilty having him watch her in such a compromising situation.

"Amy, we're going to have a baby in roughly 7 months, I have to get used to this at some point." Sheldon tried to reassure himself as he fought back gagging right along with Amy.

"We have to find a way to keep some food in you." Sheldon was concerned that Amy had been vomiting everything she ate for the past few days. "Are you craving anything?"

"Honestly, even the smell of food makes me nauseous." Amy was hoping the doctor would have a recommendation for her 'morning sickness', which turned out to be all day sickness.

"Ms. Fowler?" The nurse called Amy back to the exam room with Sheldon tagging right behind.

"It's Dr. Fowler." Sheldon corrected the nurse while settling in the room.

"Sheldon!" Amy's eyes darted to him for being so rude. "It's okay you can call me Ms. Fowler." Amy reassured the nurse, smiling.

"I apologize Dr. Fowler, let me just take your vitals and the Dr. will be in shortly."

Amy and Sheldon were both silent as they waited for the doctor. She was still annoyed at him for being rude to the nurse. Her hormones had been making it harder to deal with Sheldon's quirks. Sheldon was staring at Amy's bump, which was hardly noticeable to the naked eye. Amy couldn't be annoyed as she watched how proud he looked.

"Dr. Fowler, I am Dr. Murray, it's nice to meet you."

"It's nice to meet you too. This is my boyfriend –" Before Amy could finish Sheldon was standing up to introduce himself.

"Dr. Sheldon Cooper, B.S, M.S, M.A, Ph.D, and Sc.D." Amy shot him the same look she had earlier and Sheldon took the hint and sat down.

"I am sorry Dr. Murray, he and I are nervous." Amy tried to smooth over Sheldon's behavior.

"So, we are having a baby." Dr. Murray had a warm infectious smile. "Well, Dr. Fowler, your vitals look perfect. How have you been feeling?"

"Honestly, the past couple of days have not been so great. I haven't been able to keep down any food. I've been drinking water and chamomile tea. I've also been extremely tired."

"That is all normal. Try to eat small snacks. Saltine crackers and ginger ale will usually help settle your stomach." Dr. Murray reassured Amy. "If it continues or becomes unbearable, I'll need to see you again soon."

"So let's have a look at this little peanut. Please lay back Dr. Fowler." Sheldon shuttered at Dr. Murray calling the baby a little peanut but bit his tongue. He knew he was pushing it already.

"This will feel very cold." Amy cringed at the gel on her stomach. That faded away quickly as the room filled with the sound of a loud, pounding heartbeat.

"There it is. That is your baby." Sheldon stood up and got as close to the monitor as he could.

"Fascinating." That was all Sheldon could muster out as he eye pricked with tears. He looked back at Amy who was crying and stroking the screen of the monitor. Sheldon grabbed her hand, squeezed it tightly once, and shot her a giddy smile.

"You're about 9 ½ weeks along. We will schedule another appointment for 20 weeks unless you feel you need to come in sooner, please just give us a call. I'll leave you two for a few minutes and you can exit when you are ready." Dr. Murray smiled as he walked out the door.

"I don't know about him, Amy." He darted his eyes in the direction of where the doctor was previously standing.

"I like him, Sheldon. He makes me feel comfortable."

Sheldon couldn't argue with her at a time like this. They were still staring at the monitor where their little kidney bean was on the screen. There was a few minutes of silence and Sheldon walked up as close as he could to the screen. Amy wasn't sure what he was doing.

"I love you, little bean. Your daddy can't wait to meet you." Amy's heart was melting and tears were uncontrollable. She knew Sheldon was going to be a terrific father.

It was a quiet car ride home. Sheldon mentioned to Amy that he had a surprise for her tonight at her apartment so he wanted her to go take a nap and come to the kitchen at 5 P.M. Amy suspiciously agreed.

Amy had a hard time falling asleep. Her mind was filled with thoughts of her surprise. Little bean was taking a lot out of her and she finally fell into a deep sleep.

Sheldon called Leonard to take him to the store and put his plan in motion.

A few hours later Amy awoke to a savory aroma coming from the kitchen and for once she did not feel sick to her stomach. Still in her pajamas, she wandered into the kitchen to find Sheldon finishing up dinner.

"What are you making? It smells delicious."

"Well that's a good sign and one step closer to confirming my experiment will be successful. Sit down, I'll make you a plate." Sheldon smiled.

Sheldon walked over and served Amy her plate. Spaghetti with little pieces of hot dog cut up in it. Amy smiled so widely and dug into her plate. She nearly inhaled her food, it was so delicious and she didn't feel the least bit sick. Sheldon sat and stared, smiling proudly that his experiment worked.

"That's a Cooper!" Sheldon exclaimed. While Sheldon was so happy, Amy finally had the courage to ask the question that had been on her mind for a few weeks.

"When are we going to tell the gang?" Amy looked up a Sheldon nervously.
