Author's note: This chapter was written by me =D

Ironhide may seem a little out of character in the upcoming chapters, but it's only because we wanted to make him unique =)

"Hello" Human talking.

"Hello" Cybertronian/Magic talking.

"Hello" Thoughts.

The next day Ironhide was sitting in the garden with his older daughter who was sat on his left shoulder, he would have let her sit on his right shoulder but he was blind in his right optic so he wouldn't have been able to see her properly, he hadn't had the chance to see his daughter again till yesterday. And he met his older daughter a few months ago and doesn't know her all that well, he didn't know his comrades all that well either if he was honest, of course he knew Optimus and Starscream but he would talk to the others eventually "This might sound bad, but I don't know that much about you, you're my daughter and I want to get to know you better" he said softly.

Rebecca smiled and nodded, she was a little shy as she didn't know her father all that well, but she wanted to get to know him.

"So let's start off with something easy, what are your fears?" 'Hide asked softly.

The twenty year old thought a moment "The dark, balloons, spiders and lifts" she replied quietly and shrugged a little.

"The dark I can understand, my brother had a fear of the dark, spiders I can understand too" Ironhide replied softly "but what about the other two? They're quite unusual fears"

Rebecca giggled a little and nodded "I know, well the balloon one is kind of complicated to explain, but it's just the latex ones I hate" she explained "especially when they go wrinkly" she cringed, she had a bad fear of wrinkly balloons and it made her cringe just mentioning it "as for the lift one, I almost got stuck in one at an art gallery Jadey and I went to visit, she was already on the third floor and I had gone to the toilet...the doors closed and it didn't move, since then I have a fear of them"

'Hide nodded.

"What about you?" the twenty year old asked.

"Me? Oh, well I fear losing those I care about, I lost my Sire from a virus and my brother from a battle" Ironhide replied softly.

Rebecca nodded "Any other fears?" she asked.

'Hide shook his helm and smiled, but deep down he did have another fear, but he didn't want to mention that one.

The twenty year old smiled as well and snuggled up to her father's neck.

Ironhide smiled and cupped a hand round her.

Meanwhile Jade was with Ratchet, she wanted to get to know the mech better because of the fact he was her father's Bondmate, and she wanted to get along with him "So you're a Medic?" she asked with a smile.

The Medic smiled and nodded "That's right, my Sire was a Medic and I wanted to follow in his footsteps, it can be a stressful job sometimes" he replied "but Jolt is an Assistant Medic so it does take some stress off of me, but I still feel most of it"

The sixteen year old nodded "Well I think dad knows Medics, maybe he can help you too" she replied with a smile.

"Oh Jade I don't know, I mean I love 'Hide to bits but I don't want him to get too stressed out" Ratchet replied softly "he is a Weapons Specialist as well"

"I know, but I know dad wouldn't like to see you so stressed out, and I wouldn't like it either" Jade replied softly "dad cares about you and will do anything for those he cares about, even if it risks his life" which was true, her father had always put her needs first and had taken risks to protect her, like one time he got slashed in his right optic ridge from protecting her at six months old.

The Medic nodded "Alright, I'll ask him later" he replied and smiled.

The sixteen year old smiled and nodded, she wouldn't mind learning Medics herself, so then she can help repair the others when they get injured "I'd like to learn Medics, then I can help if any of the others get injured" she said.

Ratchet smiled and nodded "Well I'd be happy to give you lessons on the basics first" he replied.

Jade smiled and nodded "Ok, thanks Ratchet" she replied and fl up onto his shoulder.

The Medic smiled and got up, he walked out his quarters.

Ironhide was showing his older daughter his Workshop where he worked on his weapons, it was warm and welcoming, the walls were currently dark grey as he hadn't had the chance to paint them yet and there were weapons of different types hung up on the wall. There was a worktop along the back wall with two windows and there was a sink in the corner of the right wall that had a few dirty cloths on it, then in the corner by the window was a berth that had a few boxes on it, there were weapons inside each one that hadn't been unpacked yet. The in the centre of the room was a black desk made of strong Cybertronian metal, as Ironhide didn't really trust Earth materials yet, and there was a black leather office chair with a stereo against the left wall near the desk "What do you think?" he asked with a smile.

"Wow" Rebecca replied with a smile.

'Hide smiled "I need to find time to paint the walls" he replied.

The twenty year old smiled and nodded, then she saw a photo album on her father's desk "Is that a photo album?" she asked pointing to it.

Ironhide looked at his desk and nodded "Yeah it is" he replied with a smile "want to look at it?"

Rebecca smiled and nodded.

'Hide smiled and sat down at his desk, he opened it to the first page, there were two photos there. The first one was of Jade at six days old in her father's arms smiling, but she did look shy "I had managed to persuade her to look at the camera" he said.

The twenty year old smiled and nodded.

The photo below it was a photo of Jade at a week old on her hands and knees, she looked to have been crawling "She was just starting to crawl" Ironhide said with a smile.

"Aww" Rebecca replied with a smile.

'Hide turned to the next page and there were two more photos, the first one was of Jade at eleven months old with her arms out either side of her, she looked to be learning to walk "She was taking her first steps there" he said.

The twenty year old smiled and nodded.

The second photo was of Jade at three years old and was in her father's room that had been decorated, she was looking very happy "It was her third birthday and the 'Cons had gone on a mission, I wanted to celebrate her third birthday, bless her she was so happy and we even wrecked everyone's rooms after that"

Rebecca giggled "No way" she replied.

"Oh yeah, I got into a lot of trouble for that, but it was hilarious" Ironhide replied with a smirk "for a three year old she knew how to trash rooms"

The twenty year old laughed a little and nodded.

'Hide smiled and turned to the final page, it was of him and his daughter with an arm round one another smiling "That was the day before I helped her escape the labs, it was a hard decision, but I wanted what was best for her" he said softly.

Rebecca smiled and nodded "You made the right choice" she replied.

Ironhide smiled and nodded, he cupped a hand round his daughter.

Later on, Ironhide was showing his photo album to his daughter.

Jade smiled and sniffed as she looked at the photos "Aww" she said and wiped her eyes.

'Hide smiled and closed the book, he put an arm round her "You're still adorable" he replied softly.

The sixteen year old blushed a little and giggled.

Ironhide smiled and kissed her head, he held her close to him.

Jade snuggled up to him and purred "You're so brave daddy, you inspired me to be brave" she said softly.

'Hide smiled "You're brave too Jadey, you may not think it but you are" he replied softly.

The sixteen year old smiled "Do you have any fears?" she asked softly.

Ironhide nodded "Yeah I do, one of them is losing those I care about" he replied softly.

Jade nodded and held his hand "And the other?" she asked softly.

'Hide looked down for a moment and looked around to make sure the coast was clear, he looked at his daughter again "Falling into another depression" he whispered and turned his arms over.

The sixteen year old saw small scars on the inside of her father's forearms, there were more on his right than his left.

"After I lost my brother, I had no family left and I didn't see the point of living anymore, but 'Steel told me life was worth living for and that he and my Sire would be watching over me" Ironhide whispered.

Jade nodded and looked around before lifting her hoodie sleeves, she had small scars similar to her father's on the inside of her forearms too, there were more on her left than her right.

"Aw Jadey, when?" 'Hide asked softly.

"About a year ago, despite Becky being there for me I still felt alone, and I had had a nightmare about the labs" the sixteen year old whispered and sniffed "I just...felt so alone"

Ironhide held her close and kissed her head "You're not alone anymore, it was a hard decision to help you escape but it needed to be done, I couldn't lose you" he replied softly.

Jade sniffed and nodded "I know daddy, and I appreciate what you did, it's thanks to you I had a better life" she replied and wiped her eyes, she smiled a little.

'Hide smiled and hugged her warmly.

The sixteen year old purred "But I'm glad we're reunited after thirteen years" she said quietly.

Ironhide smiled and nodded "Me too Jadey, me too" he replied softly.
