"Mom, will you please stop yelling so I can speak to you?" Sheldon was trying to calm his enraged mother over the phone.

"Yes, you should not have had to find out from Penny that Amy and I are pregnant, but I was waiting for the right time to tell you." Sheldon was angry but at the same time relieved that Penny had spilled the proverbial beans. She naturally thought Sheldon's mother already knew.

"Of course we are living together… Yes, I was going to tell you that also." Sheldon was trying to get words in through his mother's ranting.

"Mother, for the last time, it is not a test tube baby. We conceived naturally, accidentally, but naturally."

"Okay, okay. If it will make you feel better to come stay with us for a few days, I will make arrangements. I'll email you the details. Love you. Goodbye." Sheldon was exasperated after that conversation but happy that his mother will see that he has changed and this was not some science experiment as she accused him.

Amy came out from around the corner once she heard Sheldon cease the conversation. She walked up behind him and wrapped her dainty arms around his waist rubbing his stomach to soothe him. "She'll see this is not some experiment and how far we've come, don't worry." Amy said tried to comfort his tense body under her touch.

"Go sit down, relax, and I'll make you some tea." Amy offered as Sheldon smiled and headed over to the couch.

When Amy returned with tea, Sheldon pulled Amy onto his lap. "Lay back on the arm here so I can rub your belly." Amy's heart was warmed by these words.

Sheldon pulled Amy's shirt up so just her bump was exposed and gently rubbed it. Not only did he know this made Amy feel peaceful but it brought emotions to him that he had never felt – an unconditional love for someone he has never seen or met.

"Did you feel that?!" Amy said as the baby moved for the very first time, holding back her tears.

"Fascinating." Those were the only words that came to his mind, overwhelmed with emotion by the feeling beneath his hand. He looked to a tearful Amy and leaned down to give her a kiss.

"This is your father, Dr. Sheldon Cooper." Sheldon was speaking directly to Amy's stomach. "How are you doing in there, little buddy?" The baby moved again. "Amazing!" Amy and Sheldon said in unison. "Say something else!" Amy demanded excitedly. "Your mother and I can't wait to meet you, only 20 more weeks to go." Sheldon felt two rapid kicks against his palm. "That is truly remarkable." Sheldon couldn't believe that the baby was responding to his voice.

"You know we've yet to discuss names." Amy looked to Sheldon.

"Well, did you have any in mind?" Sheldon had a name in mind but wanted to hear Amy's thoughts first.

"I like the name Isaac." Sheldon stared at Amy like he had seen a ghost. This was the same name Sheldon had in mind.

"It's amazing how connected we are. It's like you can read my thoughts." Sheldon said softly.

Amy did not pick up on what Sheldon meant by that. "Did you have any names in mind?"

"Isaac."

"I see what you mean now." Amy laughed, a little embarrassed that she hadn't picked up on his previous statements.

"Well, I guess that is settled." Sheldon was still rubbing Amy's stomach, now unconsciously.

"So, when is your mother coming?" Amy had listened in on the whole conversation.

"Two days, which reminds me I've got to book and send her the details."

"Well this should be interesting…" Amy said semi-sarcastically.

Two days later, Amy had done more cleaning than should be legally allowed, in preparation for Mary Cooper. Amy had been home all week as the Dr. recommended, so cleaning took her mind off of her nervousness of Sheldon's intimidating mother and what exactly was going to happen.

"Hey kid, how're you feeling?" Sheldon greeted Amy as he arrived home early to go to the airport.

"I feel pretty good today, actually. We have to leave in about 45 minutes but I need to shower before we go, I am all sweaty from cleaning. Would you like to join me?" Amy purred.

"Well you know I can't refuse an offer like that but we have to make it quick." Sheldon winked.

After an awkward and silent car ride, Amy, Sheldon, and Mrs. Cooper, were headed up the stairs and settled into the apartment.

"Would you like a drink, mom?"

"No, thank ya Shelly. Let me have a look at ya, Amy. You are simply glowin' sweetheart. Can I feel?" Mrs. Cooper was acting very different than she expected.

"Sure, please do. We felt him move for the first time two days ago. He responds to Sheldon's voice, it is so sweet." Amy's nerves were finally settling and she was enjoying talking to Mrs. Cooper.

"Well, isn't that just the sweetest thing. Shelly, why don't you go on about your business so Amy and I can chat?" Sheldon was hovering over her every move.

"Yes, mother. But, please do not put any stress on Amy, she doesn't need it." Sheldon gave Amy a quick kiss while holding her belly and headed down the hall.

"Well, that is a sight I thought I'd never see. You have changed that boy, Amy. I can't thank ya enough for it. You know I know you heard I went on about all that test tube non-sense on the phone but I can see the change in Shelly's eyes. You light up his world." Mrs. Cooper said as she squeezed Amy's hand.

"Thank you, Mrs. Cooper. That is very sweet of you to say, he really has changed. I know he is going to be a terrific father and there is no doubt in my mind that he loves me." Amy said tearfully. "I am sorry, I am not usually so emotional – the hormones, you know?"

"Aww sweetheart, let's sit. Believe me, I understand, I was a mess through all my pregnancies also. You know, I am really not happy about y'all sinnin'. Are ya plannin' to get married?"

"Well, we really haven't talked about it. I am sure it is in the future but everything happened so fast, this obviously wasn't planned. I don't want to force Sheldon into marriage and I would like to wait until he is fully comfortable. I surely do not want to be pregnant during my wedding." Amy answered truthfully.

"I guess I can't argue with that. But, Jesus will forgive you. Have ya got a name for little one?"

"We decided a few days ago, Isaac. After Isaac Newton." Amy rubbed her stomach and smiled.

"I like that name, ya know that is a biblical name also." Mrs. Cooper smiled. "Well enough blabbin' for now. Shelly is probably dying to know that I haven't stressed ya out. Let's all go get somethin' to eat, I have a surprise for both of you." Mrs. Cooper smiled.
