During that night Jade woke up from a nightmare about her past, she squeaked in fear and crawled quickly to her father who was recharging in his bipedal mode. She climbed onto his chest and curled up on it shaking, she squeaked in fear again bringing her father out of recharge.

Ironhide felt something shaking on his chest and looked down, he saw his daughter curled up on his chest shaking and squeaking in fear. Just like she did when he first saw her at four days old, he gently picked his daughter up in his hand and sat up "Aw what's wrong Jadey?" he whispered softly.

The one year old sniffed "I had a nightmare" she beeped and snuggled into her father's warm chest "a-about the labs" she buried her head in his chest.

'Hide gently held her close to his chest and gently stroked her hair with his finger, he changed to his bipedal holoform and cuddled his daughter.

Jade snuggled up to him and beeped.

Ironhide gently kissed her head and held her close, he gently rocked her "It's ok Jadey" he whispered softly "you're away from the labs now, we both are" he gently stroked her star shaped scar "you're safe"

The one year old purred as she started to calm down, she snuggled up to her father more and chirped.

'Hide smiled and gently stroked her hair, he lay down with his daughter beside him and cuddled her.

Jade purred and snuggled into him, she tucked her head under his chin and nuzzled his neck.

Ironhide chuckled softly and held her close, he gently rested his chin on her head and gently rubbed her back "Go back to sleep Jadey, everything's ok" he whispered softly.

The one year old purred and yawned, she cuddled her father and fell asleep feeling safer.

'Hide smiled and gently kissed her head before yawning, he held his daughter closer to him and went back into recharge.

The next morning Jade was the first to wake up, she stretched and snuggled into her father's warmth. She looked behind her and saw that Ratchet wasn't there, she guessed that he had gone to the Medbay. She looked back at her father and gently tapped his nose "Daddy" she said and chirped.

Ironhide's nose twitched a little and he lazily rubbed his nose.

The one year old giggled a little and gently tapped it again "Daddy, wake up" she said.

'Hide's nose twitched a little again and he grunted sleepily, he yawned and came out of recharge. He looked at his daughter and smiled "Hey Jadey" he greeted softly.

Jade smiled and cuddled him "Hi daddy" she replied.

Ironhide smiled and cuddled her back, the only time his daughter talked at one was when it was just the two of them. When there were other people about then she would either not talk or use Sparkling talk "How do you feel?" he asked softly.

"Better" the one year old replied with a smile and tweeted.

'Hide smiled and gently kissed her head "That's good" he replied softly and looked behind him, he smiled when he saw a Sparkling bottle and a cube of energon "Ratch must have left some energon for us"

"Ratchet makes you happy" Jade said with a smile.

"He does" Ironhide replied softly "but so do you with your adorableness"

The one year old blushed and giggled "Aw daddy" she replied.

'Hide smiled and sat up, he got the Sparkling bottle first "Let's get you fed first" he said softly.

Jade smiled and sat on his lap.

Ironhide smiled and put an arm round her midsection before starting to feed her.

The one year old chirped in content.

'Hide smiled, when his daughter had finished her energon he gently moved the bottle away. As he put it on the bedside table he heard a small burp and looked at his daughter who was trying to look innocent, he smirked "Jadey" he said.

"What daddy?" Jade asked innocently.

"Was that you?" Ironhide asked with a smirk, he knew it was her but it was a little game they always did.

The one year old shook her head trying not to giggle "No daddy, I'm innocent" she replied.

'Hide smirked "Oh really? Then how come you're trying to act all innocent?" he asked.

"You're making me laugh" Jade replied and giggled.

Ironhide smirked and tickled his daughter's midsection.

The one year old squealed and laughed as she kicked her legs "Daddy!" she managed to say through her laughter.

'Hide chuckled and gently picked her up, he smirked and gently lifted her hoodie and shirt revealing her stomach. He lifted her a bit higher and blew a raspberry on her stomach.

Jade squealed and laughed "Again!" she said and tweeted happily.

Ironhide smiled and blew another raspberry on her stomach making her laugh and kick her feet in mid-air, it warmed his Spark seeing his daughter laughing and happy, just like it should be at her current age.
