A Different View of Things

A normal day, but one thing was different...Megatron was unusually happy, it raises suspicion in Ironhide and wants to know why his leader was so happy. What he finds both shocks and horrifies him, but it brings out the one side of him that he's been hiding behind a gruff exterior for so long, he makes a decision that changes both his and Jade's life forever.

27. Deciding

Ironhide's POV

A little later, we were deciding what to do with Jadey's body, to be honest I wasn't in the right state of mind to think about it. My daughter is gone, I know she'll be safe in the Well, but it's not the same without her. I looked down at Jadey's body, she was still in her cat form, I may not be showing any emotions...but that doesn't mean I'm crying inside.

Starscream's POV

I've known 'Hide for a long time, and let me tell you, I've never seen him like this. I don't blame him for not wanting to even speak, I'd feel the same way if I was the one who had raised Jade from four days old, a small part of me did regret defecting to the Autobots when 'Hide was still a 'Con. I did offer him the chance to defect with me, but 'Hide is nothing but loyal, it's in his nature. And at the time I defected, his loyalties still lied with Megatron, and I respected that. It was hard to part from my best friend, but we remained friends despite being in two completely different factions, I could see how much Jade meant to 'Hide. We need to do something nice, I know that when a human dies, they hold a funeral, the body is inside a coffin and it's put into the ground. About six feet down I think, we should do that for Jade, it's a way of saying goodbye "We should hold a funeral for her" I suggested softly, most of the Autobots knew what a funeral was, though I don't think 'Hide knew what that was. The 'Cons were never really one for learning human things, the only thing they did learn was human swearwords, that's it.

Ironhide's POV

I looked up on the internet to see what a funeral was, it was a way of mourning for the dead and saying a last goodbye, the body was placed in a coffin then lowered into the ground about six feet down, then the hole is filled up with fresh soil and they place a gravestone on top. It would have the person's name, along with when the person was born and when they died, then meaningful words. That would be perfect for Jadey, she deserves something like that, I looked at 'Star and nodded.

Jolt found a box that was the right side for Jadey's cat form "Is this alright?" he asked softly.

I nodded.

Jolt nodded and knelt down, he placed the box beside Jadey's body before getting up again.

I knelt down and gently lifted Jadey up, I carefully placed her in the box and slowly put the lid on, tonight we would hold the funeral for Jadey. She always loved night time because the stars would be out, so we would hold it tonight for her.
