Helloooo!
So this is a bit embarrassing, actually. (cos I'm writing something like this for the third time already or something like that, lol, what the hell)
I kinda screwed it up a bit. My plans for this story don't quite work. I was gonna end the fic soon (I've talked about this in the chapter notes for a while now), but the truth is – I came to the conclusion that this won't really work. The ending for this story would be a bit meh and anticlimactic and just strange so I've decided to change things a bit and I hope you can understand my decision.
I've decided to cut this story here short and rearrange things a bit. This story's last chapter will be chapter 30 "Return", meaning when Connor and Daryl take Murphy to Woodbury.
This way, we got a nice and proper little ending for this/these storyline/s and Ressurection is all complete with a proper introduction of events (Connor's immunity storyline in Augusta, the build-up between the Connaryl, reintroduction of Murphy) and their solution (Connaryl leaving Augusta with no cure, first 'fooling around', bringing Murphy home).
I do understand that this is a bit frustrating now and that some of you might think "ugh Susan, y u no make up your mind/plan shit FIRST before getting us to read your stories" or stuff like "ugh Susan, you promised us a shippy fic in Damnation, and now we got this!" and I'm really really sorry that I suck at planning stuff like this. I hope you can forgive me. I tend to get overly excited and just start writing fics without a detailed plan in my head, and sometimes I do screw the endings up a bit. So soooorryyyyy.
Here's the deal for future storylines/stories/how this series is gonna continue.
Just like I said, I'm gonna 'delete' all the chapters that follow chapter 30 "Return" and make this chapter the ending for Resurrection.
But all the chapters that I've written and uploaded after that (meaning chapters 31-40) won't be gone, I'm just gonna add them to the next fic, the new one that's gonna concentrate on the season 4 material.
Meaning that I'm gonna do it just like in Salvation and Damnation with some more changes this time. I will use season 4 storylines/problems and settings, include Connor (and now Murphy), add a few things, leave some things out, change a few things ( a lot this time, actually). The obvious changes will be that my story takes place in Woodbury rather than at the prison, it will take place a couple of months earlier (no timeskip like in the TV series, I wanna include the winter this time, unlike them) and there will be a new threat in this fic, since there's no Governor in my story anymore (they killed him in Damni).
Okay. That's all I wanted to say. I honestly feel better this way.
The other option would've been the following: I would've kept writing on Resurrection to finish the Woodbury storyline in here as well and end it with the war/ambush like in season 4 episode 8, but I feel like this would've dragged everything down and made the story too long. It's already 305,000 words long, pretty much as long as Damnation which was freakishly long. Better split it up and give it a break. Resu is done, this story has been told.
I'm gonna leave the fic as it is for while so everyone can catch up on the news and read this little note. But in a couple of days/weeks I'm gonna delete the mentioned chapters and mark the story as completed. There will be no updates for this story. But, no matter how long I'm going to leave Resu like that, I'm gonna go ahead and create the new story anyway, add the first ten chapters that have already been written for Resu and update the story there. If you wanna keep reading and keep getting updates about this story/series then you should follow this one, which is called Absolution and will turn up later in the Boondock Saints/Walking Dead crossover fanfic tag + on my profile.
And to answer a question that has been asked many times before – yes. The story will stay shippy from now on. Meaning the friendship aspect will still be important, but there will be more shippy content, more sexual content, like I promised ages ago in Damnation. And ten chapters in I've already reached a point where the Connaryl are ready to take one more step after 30 chapters of build up. I won't let you down in Absolution (hopefully, I hope I won't screw this up again, so sorry, I'm such a loser :D)
I hope you can understand my decision. Thank you for reading Resurrection, and thank you for the LOAD of reviews I've received on this on (more than 370, waaaaaaat). You are so awesome. This series wouldn't exist without you.
