Summary: At the beginning she was the only one who can see him. He was her temperamental, stubborn and overprotective ghost half dog demon. Not to mention possessive as well. He has fifty days left. What did it mean? Who is after them and what do they want. "I don't give two hells if I'm dead Kagome. I'll protect you and that's a damn promise," he said.

Disclaimer: I do NOT own Inuyasha!

She knocked once and there was no answer. She knocked twice and there was still no answer from inside the room. "Hm..," Mrs. Higurashi tapped her chin and looked at the door knob. She was about to call out to Kagome to go down to dinner, but she knew her daughter was sleeping, or at least that was what Souta had told her.

Mrs. Higurashi turned on her heel and shook her head. It was best to let her daughter be, if she'd woken her up, it wasn't a sight to see her daughters anger. Kagome hated to be woken up when she was resting peacefully.

"Souta," she called, knocking on his door.

"Yes mom?" Mrs. Higurashi heard her son say. She let out a sigh, not seeing the air she held on for too long, wondering why she was feeling so agitated.

Souta opened his bedroom door and looked up at his mother. "Never mind sweetie, I was just checking on you, and to tell you that dinner is ready," his mother said.

He smiled and gave her a nod,"Okay, I'm going to pause my game and I'll be right down. I'm going to tell my friends that I won't be playing for another hour."

Mrs. Higurashi arched a brow and then thought for a moment, that's right he played online games. She smiled to herself, at least he wasn't addicted to his games.

She left her son's room and went to serve the food. Her father-in-law was sitting on the table and reading the newspaper. "Remarkable news in deed," he muttered to himself.

"Hello dear, I was waiting for you and the children to sit down," grandpa Higurashi said, not lifting his eyes from the article he read.

"They'll be down in a minute," Mrs. Higurashi said, serving the first plate to him.

"I thought I heard something from outside and a shadow by the edge of the house. It must have been my imagination," Grandpa Higurashi told her, finally tearing his gaze from the article, his expression turning serious.

"It could've been Buyo, he loves to sleep on the roof," Mrs. Higurashi commented and it was true, the fat cat liked it out there, but she doubted that he'd stay outside in the winter cold.

Souta twisted his sister's bedroom doorknob to the side and first knocked before entering,"Sis, mom said to come and eat."

The first thing he noticed was that Kagome's room was all trashed with her clothing and a case was opened on the floor. He walked in and peered over the opened case, it was the case that their father had gotten her for her birthday, for her bow and arrows.

His brows furrowed deep in thought, query of the fact why'd his sister would make her room like it was and take out her bow and arrows. He strolled over to the open window when the pink curtains flapped open and blew in by the gust of wind.

Souta noticed that a blanket was wrapped around the leg of her bed and then more were tied together until they reached the bottom - or it seemed like to him - of the house to the cement ground.

Tap tap tap and followed by a growl.

Claws tapped on the sleeve of his haori, irked at the looks given by his friends, including the old 'hag'.

They were distracted by the elder miko's startled gasp. "What is it Lady Kaede?" Miroku jumped in to ask before Sango could.

"This isn't what I have placed in the tea ye, - Inuyasha - had given to young Kagome," Kaede inspected the small pile of herbs that she had given to the Inu-Hanyou.

Her one good eye gazed toward the trembling kitsune who gulped a bit too loudly, catching Inuyasha's attention.

"What did ya do now runt," Inuyasha took him by the scruff and brought his face to look into Shippo's eyes. In attempt to escape, he tried to duck behind Sango before Inuyasha could catch him, but was now looking face to face with the pissed off hanyou.

"N-nothing," poor Shippo stuttered, it was quite obvious that he had done something. Inuyasha peered, a calm look was on his face and it scared the hell out of the kit. "Okay! Okay! I did it! It was me!" the kit declared, having fed up with the staring into the soul by the hanyou.

"Shippo, did ye put this with the herbs that were meant for Kagome?" Kaede arched a brow.

Lowering his head in dismay, Shippo nodded and sniffled,"I just wanted the old Kagome back, the one I could call my mom."

Sango, at the same time knew what was going on and didn't, the kitsune must've done something good in Kagome's part and bad too. "What did you do Shippo?" she asked him.

Fiddling with his fingers and looking incredibly guilty, Shippo let out a huff of air," I had to do it!" He pointed at Inuyasha,"You wanted her to forget us and I knew that I couldn't let that happen…so -I..uh," he began to say slowly, eyes lowering down even further. "I kinda placed a herb to reverse the affect. Hehe- OW!"

Inuyasha flung the fox child and causing him to hit the wall harshly.

Now that he had made a bump on the kit's head, his anger wasn't diminished from there on. Inuyasha got up, too gradually than hastily, walked to where Shippo landed. Swirls were still in Shippo's eyes and he groaned in dizziness.

"I'm going to freaking kill you!" Inuyasha shouted, outstretching his ghostly arm and hand to grab the kit's fluffy, spiked tail.

Shippo shrieked in fear, he didn't want to face Inuyasha's wrath, he would often get bumps on his head because of all the pounding the said dog demon would do to him. He certainly didn't want another bump on his head. "I didn't mean to, I just wanted her to remember!"

Inuyasha's eye twitched in irritation and anger,"You realize what you have done!"

Shippo began to wail and was snatched out from Inuyasha's grip. "Don't terrorize poor Shippo, Inuyasha, what is done is done. There is nothing we can now do about it, Kagome knows now about it. Perhaps we should see to it that we go to her," Miroku said calmly, holding the kitsune in one arm and using the other to stop the hanyou from taking any steps closer.

Menacing growls of promising death, was released from the hanyou, glaring daggers at the kitsune who was in for future pounding.

"Fine," Inuyasha agreed.

"Don't worry Inuyasha, there is no way she can kill you after you gave her that herbal tea, you're dead!" Miroku said, cheery for his liking. That one earned him a hit on the head by a angered half dog demon.

Souta ran down the stairs and zipped passed his mother that was just about to call him down. "Souta," she said, putting her hand on her chest, alarmed by his sudden action.

"Sorry mom, I forgot something outside!" Souta shouted, unlocking the door and running out.

Grandpa Higurashi shook his head, disapproving the way his grandson had almost knocked over his mother,"Children these days should learn to slow down. They are getting too overactive and hyper by those energy drinks."

Mrs. Higurashi let out a little laugh and went into the kitchen to make the juice.

Souta panted for air, he had to make sure that his sister wasn't trying anything stupid, but only noticed the tied up bed sheets flowing in the wind.

"Huh, what's this?" he heard a voice say, the young boy turned around and noticed it was Kagome's friends.

"Kagome snuck out," Souta said plainly to them.

"I can see that," Sango said, seeing the bed sheets tied up,"But why'd she do it."

"I think she went to sneak out to see her boyfriend or something," Souta said, unknowingly that the half dog demon was standing just feet away.

"What the hell is he saying!" Inuyasha bellowed, but knew that the kid couldn't see him. Miroku shook his head,"This doesn't make sense, I thought she'd wait here."

Shippo was hiding behind Sango, holding onto her shoulder, making sure that Kagome's little brother couldn't see him.

"Kagome said she was going to see a good friend, what is weird though is that she took her bow and arrows," Souta commented.

"You don't think that," Sango turned to Miroku, hoping that Kagome didn't go off alone. Miroku's face had said it all and Shippo gasped in surprise.

"She ain't stupid, no one is that stu- SHIT!" Inuyasha roared in angered tantrum. He knew something was up. DAMN IT TO HELL! He shouted mentally.

They all left quickly to follow their rash friend, leaving a confused Souta behind, but the boy had gone inside to eat. Not knowing what danger his older sister was in.

Blood.

It was splattered on the floor and she could feel it trickling down the side of her stomach. She could see it oozing out from her clothing that was half drenched in her own blood.

The smell of it was even worse, causing her to feel nauseous and make her head swirl. Kagome groaned at the unbearable pain. Damn him! She swore inwardly, hoping that he was sent to hell with the amount of pure power shot straight at him.

Although, that wasn't the case, that damn Naraku was still alive and chuckling at her.

"Maybe I should just get rid of your friends, who knows - they could be a future problem - but as of right now I do not care," Naraku said to her, slowly as if she were a child not comprehending a simple question.

She forced herself to look up at him, putting most of her weight on her arm to stare up at the red eyed, black haired man who wore a cape. What was the deal with bad guys and capes. Kagome would've laughed at that if she wasn't in danger, or bleeding, or the fact that his hands lifted her up in the air by her neck.

"I could just kill you now, but that would be too easy. It's best to leave it for a show to your hanyou," he spat at her.

Kagome clawed at his face and managed to scratch him on his cheek. Naraku winced, but not by her nails scrapping his skin, but by the spiritual energy that was surrounding her hand.

It would be simple to kill her at that point, nevertheless he would enjoy watching her die. He let go of her and watched her fall down, landing in a hard thud. The sounds of a item hitting the floor caught his eye.

The bright pink light made his body freeze, so this is where it has been all along, he thought, walking to the paled girl lying helplessly on the ground. "Finally," he muttered under his breath.

Kagome noticed the jewel and tried with all her might to lift her hand, her fingers almost reaching it when it was plucked up from the ground. Her blue eyes shot up to see Naraku's evil grin that was colder than death itself.

"It seems like you have lost," Naraku told her, feeling victorious over have finally having the jewel in his hands, which was soon defiled with his dark energy. "It is a shame that your hanyou wasn't here to see my victory - Oh! Wait a minute - ha! He still can."

Kagome winced at the sharp pain that hit her insides, the scorching twinge of wound opening just so slightly, made her gasp for air. She only had a few seconds before she would pass out. She needed to ask him. "What do you mean?"

Naraku stopped midway to retreat to his chamber, he looked over his shoulder to look at the wounded miko,"Didn't I tell you? Hmph, I guess not then. Your hanyou is-"

He smirked evilly stopping his sentence midway, she didn't know why, but that expression terrified her.

"…-Still alive."
