Summary: At the beginning she was the only one who can see him. He was her temperamental, stubborn and overprotective ghost half dog demon. Not to mention possessive as well. He has fifty days left. What did it mean? Who is after them and what do they want. "I don't give two hells if I'm dead Kagome. I'll protect you and that's a damn promise," he said.

"Come back here!" Kagome shouted. She needed answers damn it! Inuyasha was still alive, but all of this confusion was driving her mad.

I'm happy he is still alive, but how - how is he alive. He told me, well Miroku and the others told me that - Kagome gasped when realization steeped into her mind.

The times when Sango was about to tell her, but quickly dismissed the thought, completely made sense now.

Kagome lowered her head, confusion washed over her like a tidal wave and she didn't know what to do. For once in her life, she felt utterly useless.

Stupid wench, she'll never hear the end of it when I get to her, Inuyasha thought to himself, growling louder every second that ticked and worried washed over him.

What if he was too late. What if Naraku had killed her before he even got to her? What if….- He scowled, To hell with the damn what if's, there ain't going to be a what if because I'll be there before that bastard could even touch her. Kagome, you better be alright, his thoughts only urged him to run faster.

"Doesn't he know he can just materialize to her side?" Sango said, wondering to herself why the hanyō hadn't done so in the beginning.

"He does and the reason why he doesn't is because his time is running out dear Sango, he and I both know it well," Miroku told her, causing the demon exterminator to gasp in shock.

"Has it been fifty days already?" She asked.

Miroku nodded and looked up at the sky,"Yes it has."

"What the hell are you people standing around for! Get your lazy feet to run faster or I'll drag you all the way to rescue the wench!"

Inuyasha's bellow had shocked them in surprise, both exchanged looks quickly, it was best that they ran instead of being dragged like a rag doll.

They came upon a abandoned building and Inuyasha knew that it would be obvious that Naraku would stay in such a place like it. It was common for a bad guy, even for someone like Naraku.

Naraku sat down, fingering the jewel with a pleased grin, the miko was lying on the ground unconscious from the loss of blood. He finally got what he needed, but the jewel wasn't giving him his wish. Instead, it gave him power, power he never desired.

"Oi! King of Bastards, I finally found you, you evil piece of shit!" Inuyasha shouted, he panted slightly and his vision was blurry. He couldn't mistake the smell of blood, Kagome's blood that steeped into his nose. Noticing the miko that had been tossed and left on the side, a wound on her left side of her stomach, Inuyasha growled furiously,"What did you do to her."

Naraku wasn't phased by the hanyō's intrusion, he was satisfied that the half demon sought him out and managed to find him. "This is a surprise, I didn't think you'd last long," Naraku said to him.

"Just because I died, doesn't mean that I wouldn't kill you after death," Inuyasha snarled, he then smirked,"Ever heard that ghosts have undone duties after they die."

Sango and Miroku caught up to Inuyasha and were surprised that Inuyasha was talking to their enemy, not drawing his sword. It was fortunate that Naraku kept his attention on the hanyō and not on the raven haired miko.

The two walked swiftly towards the fallen miko and gingerly picked her up. "Don't try anything monk," Sango seethed at Miroku.

Miroku smiled coyly at her words and lifted Kagome from her arms while Sango held her from her legs. The demon exterminator nodded at Inuyasha, letting him know that Kagome would be safe in their care once she had medical attention.

Suddenly, they were swiped off their feet by a tentacle lashing at them. "Thought it'll be easy to just escape from the great Naraku?!" the said enemy told them.

Inuyasha was getting annoyed at him and wanted to end the fight quickly,"Keh, great…not fucking likely so shut…up," he said the words very slowly and flexed his claws.

Kagome groaned and started to come to. "What?" completely unaware that a fight would soon commence.

Sango lifted herself from laying flat on her stomach, there was a cut on the side of her face, but that didn't matter at the moment. "Kagome," she shook the girl who groaned.

"I either have a stomach ache or I'm having a bad day to say the least," the raven haired girl commented.

The demon slayer forced a smile on her face,"Kagome, we're here with you. Why'd you go off and try to fight Naraku alone?"

Fight with N-Naraku, Kagome regained what ever memories that were left a blank and then she filled in the gaps. The fight, the cut on the side of my stomach. The jewel, the Shikon no Tama! Naraku has it.

A look of fury settled on her usually perky expression and Kagome held back the groans of agony when she tried to get up. The gash on her stomach was deeper than she thought. Well duh sherlock, the jewel was inside my stomach for crying out loud.

"You'll die today Naraku!"

Kagome knew that it was his voice, Inuyasha, would he be angry at me for leaving. I should be upset for him trying to get me to forget about him and the others, but that was the past now.

"Kagome," Sango held her hands on the girl's shoulders to help her stand up. Miroku walked over to the two, unlike Sango, he had cuts on his hands and three on his neck.

The raven haired girl waved her off and walked over to the men that were battling it off.

"Hmph," Naraku smirked, the hanyō couldn't touch him. Time was running out and he could see the strain look on Inuyasha's face. Kagome noticed it too and she ran forwards, not caring that her wound opened even more.

"Naraku!" Kagome shouted in anger, she dove in and her right hand held the shikon no tama that was hanging on a chain Naraku wore. Her other hand, smashed a arrow into where his heart would be.

"NO!" Naraku let out a agonizing screech and his shouts were drained out by the building, its walls started to cave in. Inuyasha quickly gathered Kagome into his arms, and leaped out from the building, as Sango and Miroku jumped out the nearest window first.

The flash of light disappeared as quickly as it came, the arrow and Naraku were no where.

Miroku closed his eyes, he never thought that his wish would come true. He was holding the woman he cared for deeply. "M-Miroku," Sango blushed and then she growled un-ladylike when she felt his hand on her butt.

Just because we are facing our enemy, why can't he do something other than grope me, or say something romantic for a change! Or something else! She held a shaking fist near his head.

Kagome brushed her skirt off, it was slightly tattered and dirty from the fighting and blood stained her white blouse. Kagome looked down at her palm and almost fainted from shock.

"It's gone," Kagome whispered, staring at the palm of her hand that was now empty. She turned around, closing her eyes in relief, no longer having the burden of protecting the jewel.

"Inu- Inuyasha!" she shouted when she noticed her half demon disappearing from bottom up, with a blank look on his face. He reached out to her, gently cupping her cheek and a sad smile appeared on his face.

"Wait…don't," she pleaded him, clutching to his red robe of the fire rat. "Until then, Kagome," he kissed her forehead. Kagome gasped when he just vanished into thin air. "I-Inuyasha….no…no," she repeated continuously. Kagome clenched her fists tightly and tears trailed down her cheeks,"INUYASHA!"
