Shaunee made it back to the deport tunnels and had a long soak in the showers, washing all the grime from her and then wrapped in a towel she heads for her room.
"Shaunee"
"Ah! Jeez Kalona" Shaunee shakes her head holding her towel to her and calming down form the latest fright he'd given her, Kalona smiles.
"I heard what the poet fledgling said, the poem she resisted, what does it mean, Shaunee sighs walking to her room Kalona follows her Shaunee sits on her bed and Kalona does the same.
"I'm not sure but this is what I think it means, Fire's fight has begun, fire being me. Dancing with danger, shall show her strength I think that means being around you and how I'm strong around you, because you are dangerous Kalona but I've never been afraid of you, not because of pride it's just that I feel safe with you" Kalona nods following.
"Water turns to ice, her weakness, shall show her pain that's Erin her affinity for water and how she has turned to ice emotionally, we saw her weakness that day near the shops where she attacked me, her weakness is that she knows she is pathetic and she can't face it so she takes it out on others" Kalona is silent listening to her.
"Fire burns with love, thought doubt and disbelief shall stand between them that's easy, fire is me and I think I love you but I don't believe you could love me back because you are like…the moon compared to me and even if you said that's not true I wouldn't believe it but I still don't have a very high opinion of myself" Shaunee presses on before he can interrupt.
Raven's caw to the soul mates plight those are your sons, the eternal lover's first embrace shall mark the world I'm not sure what that is and finally but heartbreak stands should one not fight now fight can be interpreted in my ways not just fighting a battle which I know we both would do but I think it means, if one of us doesn't fight for us. So yeah that is how I think the poem goes"
"I have to agree with you" Kalona says
"What?!" Shaunee asks that was the last thing she expected him to say he smiles
"It would explain a lot, why you are so interesting to me, why I care so much, how I know that I will never let anything harm you, soul mates would make sense I just didn't think I had one" Kalona says
"Everyone has a soul mate…this is funny I said the same you did that I didn't have a soul mate only a few days ago and now here we are"
"Here we are" Kalona agrees, he kisses Shaunee immediately and she forgets she is in a towel wrapping her arms around him her hand through his hair and suddenly her legs are either side of his and she is slightly above him, even though compared to him she was small she was still tall enough.
"I will always fight for you" Kalona says against her mouth his hands on her hips.
"As will I" Shaunee swears.
"Please believe I love you Shaunee, I will prove it somehow and you're not below me you're the sun my fiery one"
"I believe you" she found herself saying and she did, she could tell he meant it. Both of them hear the caw of a raven above ground and they look at each other knowing exactly what the other wants, not worrying about anything other than each other they make love until dawn, where in each other's embrace they lye asleep.
Shaunee:
Three weeks no one had found any trace of Neferet, everyone was adjusting to the new way of everything, the bad red fledglings still lurked about but without a leader they were useless and mostly over-looked, Shaunee split her time between sleeping at the depot tunnels or in Kalona's huge and much better looking room, she spent nearly every night with him, unless the other where busy they would sleep in each-other's arms, it was when those three weeks ended Shaunee under stood what the poem's line, The eternal lover's first embrace shall mark the world meant Shaunee smiled at Kalona who had just flown threw his window
"Kalona I understand what the poem meant now" he smiles
"Really what?" she takes a deep breath honestly not believing what she was about to say but knowing it was true
"I'm pregnant Kalona and I think it's a girl" Kalona was silent for a whole minute he looked from her eyes to her stomach, to her eyes, to her stomach, then smiled.
The End! I thought it would be an interesting way to end this little story after all Kalona has only ever had sons and vampires can't have kids so ohh. I hope you've all enjoyed reading this thank you to everyone who has reviewed.
