And so we cut to several hours later. And by several, I mean like... 12 or something.
And by 12 hours later, I mean that it's the next morning and they're eating breakfast.
They had just finished up. Marik was finishing whateverthehell he was drinking and Ryou was finishing his tea. Bakura sat there waiting for Marik because he wanted to ask him something.
Marik finished up before Ryou and took his empty cup to the sink. Then he sat back down.
Bakura opened his mouth to speak but Marik held up a hand to stop him. He was looking at Ryou, waiting for the other hikari to notice.
Ryou finally noticed a few seconds later. He stopped mid-sip and put his cup down. "What?" he asked.
Marik looked Ryou straight in the eyes, giving him a devious look.
Ryou sensed what Marik was trying to hint at him. Ryou's eyes widened for a moment in brief surprise, because he didn't realize that Marik already knew. But then a small grin formed on his face and he nodded.
"Ryou, can we go talk in your room for a moment?" Marik asked.
Ryou nodded.
Bakura looked between the two of them, trying to figure out what was going on between them. "Am I missing out on something here?" he asked.
"Not at all," both of them replied.
Ryou and Marik stood up and walked over to the hallway silently.
Bakura just watched them silently, completely lost.
The hikaris walked into Ryou's room.
Ten minutes later, Marik walked out and ran to his room.
He and Marik both emerged from their rooms five minutes later. During the whole seven minutes, Bakura had been trying to figure out what was going on, and even went so far as to try to get the information from Ryou's mind through their mind link. He came up with nothing. He also decided to finish Ryou's tea off.
Ryou and Marik were each holding a bunch of cards in their hands. But Bakura could tell that they weren't Duel Monster cards...
They walked over to the table and stood side by side, next to where Bakura sat.
Ryou held out a hand to Bakura, the one that wasn't holding the cards. "Ring, please?"
Bakura was still trying to figure out what was going on, so he just nodded slowly and removed the Millenium Ring from around his neck. He handed it over to Ryou, who then put it around his neck.
When he realized what he had done, his eyes widened. "Wait what do you need the Ring for?!"
Ryou and Marik exchanged glances, then said in unison, "Shadow Game."
Bakura's eyes widened further. "What?! Now I'm interested even more what Shadow Game are you talking about!"
They slowly raised their hands that held the cards. Then they turned their hands so the front of the cards were visible and fanned out the cards. Marik was holding a bunch of character cards for different Hetalia characters, countries and pets alike. Similarly, Ryou was holding a bunch of character cards for the different Skylanders, and even had a few for some non-Skylander characters.
"Fandom Character War!" they cried excitedly.
Bakura closed his eyes and facepalmed. "You two...are so bloody RIDICULOUS! Why would you..."
"I planned this about two days ago," Ryou said, "and Marik found the papers I wrote it on and agreed to it already."
"We decided to have a little fandom war with the character cards," Marik explained. "It'll be the first card game of the fanfic!"
"We're playing a Shadow Game and having the characters battle each other," Ryou continued. He turned to Marik. "I'm betting that I will win because my characters have elemental powers and abilities."
"Nuh-uh!" Marik protested. He turned to Ryou. "I'll win because I have more characters and mine are frigging countries!"
"We'll see, Marik," Ryou said with a sly grin.
Bakura lifted his head and looked at his two hikaris. "You two are such big fanboys that you're practically fangirls."
"Shut up, Bakura," both of them shot back.
"Could you at least not do this in the apartment? You know how lazy I am and I'm not cleaning up any messes you make."
"Bakura we're obviously fighting in the Shadow Realm," Marik reminded him, "not the apartment. The place won't be affected."
"Still..." Bakura's eyes lit up and he grinned. "How about we go somewhere a little more interesting? Somewhere perfect for your little game?"
The hikaris' eyes widened in awe. They nodded excitedly.
"Wonderful. I know just the place."
Fans of Hetalia and Skylanders, brace yourselves! This is gonna be fun!
See you next chapter!
