Long time no see everyone. I was actually waiting for the AE team to announce the 13th Chaos Lord. Unfortunately they just teased us after our asses got handed to us by Drakath. I mean when you fight him, you can't heal, damage is reflected, and he is just plain hard to kill. Right now I do not know when they'll reveal the last Lord of Chaos, they say this January, but I'll have to wait because he/she will be an important part in my story. For now this one will be slow along with Darkness over Chaos which will be changing it's name soon because of a surprise.

CHAPTER 5- BETRAYAL AND SECRETS: THE CHAMPION OF DARKNESS

2.5 YEARS LATER

It was already two and a half years since the start of the new war against Chaos. The alliance was a bit shaky from the start since a lot of distrust remained from the forces of King Alteon and the new Empress of the Shadowscythe Gravelyn. There was already a total of seven Chaos Lords Naruto and James had to deal with and already they stopped six with the twins still with Drakath. The worse yet they had to deal with were with Wolfwing the Werepyre, who used the conflict between vampires and werewolves and Ledgermayne, the mana creature who wanted to remove all mana from lore which would be apocalyptic. They had to find a way for the werewolves and vampires to work together just enough to stop Wolfwing. James wished to spare him death but Naruto chose to end a threat before it becomes too big. However, both did not have to make the choice as Z killed him with her silver arrow. Naruto thanked her and James was a little saddened (though Z had to slap Naruto hard because he asked her what she wore underneath) and both Constantine and Safiria was thankful for their help, but the conflict continued after the common enemy was killed. Naruto did ask Safiria for a date, only for the vampire queen to just hand him a kiss on the lips.

That had to be Naruto's greatest day. Sadly she declined saying he was too young for her even if she found him attractive and she was quite busy. James had to drag Naruto out of the area before he did something perverted that would get them in trouble. Gravelyn wondered why Naruto had a goofy smile when he returned. If she found out, Naruto wasn't sure if she would either kill him or be jealous, maybe both.

Ledgermayne was a very hard foe to stop. He was entirely made up of mana that both our heroes couldn't even touch him, literally. They had to go through a lot to finish the arcane staff, an ancient weapon that could control all forms of magic even pure mana. At first Ledgermayne found it amusing as he let them go through it. But as both were almost finished with the weapon, Ledgermayne stopped them by destroying a gem made of pure chaos energy. Ledgermayne then left thinking both have given up.

If there was one thing James and Naruto didn't know what to do, it's that they don't know the meaning of the words 'give up'. Using shards of the gem both felt ready to stop Ledgermayne and his plans and set off to the para-elemental planes. Unfortunately Ledgermayne had already summoned his beast, the Mana Golem. He planned to use it to consume all the mana in lore leaving the world a lifeless wasteland. Naruto and James battled through the monsters in the plane. When both of them finally reached Ledgermayne, he sicced his beast on the two.

Using team work, both managed to kill the beast. Ledgermayne tried to retreat, but to the surprise of many, Naruto and James actually managed to defeat Ledgermayne but still could not slay him. Both tried to use the staff to kill him, but to their shock Drakath... yes DRAKATH actually helped them. Using his own chaos powers to complete the staff, Ledgermayne returned to what he was, Mana floating around. Both tried to kill Drakath at that time, but he was too strong still and got away mocking them.

Then there was Kimberly the rockstar. They were thankful that she wasn't fully chaorrupted and used a puppet. She wasn't that hard to beat but she did still cause a lot of trouble for the duo. After getting Drakath's brainwashing music out of her, she returned to normal. And when I say normal, I mean back to just being crazier than Cysero, and that's saying something. She did offer both of them a chance to rock in her performance and both accepted it. And again Naruto asked her out. This time she just kissed him hotly on the lips with tongue. Naruto was out like a light for a day.

But now something is happening, and it did NOT include Drakath or Chaos. And it was happening in Doom Woods. James was called in by Alteon to go see him in his chambers. When James arrived, he could not help but feel sorry for the king. He became ill from the strike Drakath hit him with. He was still sick and many healers have tried to purge the eyes of chaos from him, but his condition was becoming worse. James had worn a new armor that Alteon ordered for him that went well with his sword. He now wore a loyalist armour that gave good defence for him but still gave him good mobility. He was now considered Alteon's champion just as Naruto was to Gravelyn.

"My king, you have asked for me?" he bowed before the sick king. Alteon was lying on his bed with Alina and other healers looking over him. "Yes James, I have something important to tell you. There is some recent activities happening in Doom Wood and huge amounts of undead are looming over Lightguard Keep. The paladins there are asking for help. I want you to go there, investigate what is happening and help out the paladins" he whizzed out. "Alright my king, I'll go get Artix and we'll..." Alteon then stopped him. "No don't. Whatever happens, keep Artix away from Doom Wood" James was shocked at this. "You want me to keep Artix, Mr. Undead Wrecking Ball, away from Doom Wood. Why?" he inquired as the king nodded. "There are things not yet ready to be revealed. Trust me, keep him away from there..." he didn't finish as tentacles started to move around him causing the healers to go in to action. "Hurry James, get to Doom Wood, and remember what I said"

James then took off and went to Doom Wood.

At Shadow Fall, Gravelyn has called Naruto for something important. Naruto had to work really hard. He had to support even more considering she is new to leading the army now with her dad dead and him being her guard, advisor, and champion. He was working around the clock helping Gravelyn spread their influence and maintain control over their army. Right now she has an assignment for him. She sat in her throne room with Naruto below the steps waiting for her orders. "Naruto, it has come to my attention that undead forces that are not ours are lingering within Doom Wood. As of now I have no information other than that. I want you to find out more and if possible eradicate the problem" she ordered coldly. But Naruto knew she was just putting up a face. She was still saddened by her father's demise.

On some nights, she asked him to stay in her room, and there she would fall asleep on him, sometimes with tears on his shoulders. He had to help her, not only because it was his duty, but because he knew she needed him more than he needed her.

"Immediately my Empress" he said with a content smile for her. Gravelyn secretly wanted to smile too but with her out in the open she could only keep a strict face. "Get on it" she ordered as Naruto vanished. 'Please be safe Naruto' she said in her head as she looked at the spot where he had been.

James arrived at Lightguard Keep. He entered and found a lot of injured knights but no paladins which was strange. He quickly asked the head of the keep. He told them something dangerous and powerful was outside that was destroying the defences. He then set out and fought the monsters outside. He was also asked to gather some bones from the undead so the knights can make a disguise for him to infiltrate and find out what or who is causing all of this.

James had to fight and kill undead warriors, beasts, and treants and had to fight off a small army of undead but finally he got all what he needed. He then took all the bones to the knights and waited for them to make his disguise. After a few hours, he was finally called in. Apparently, they couldn't use the bones to make his disguise, so they just gave him a paper bag with a badly drawn skull n it. Naturally he was pissed that they made him go out and risk his life for nothing and they had to calm him down. They gave him a stone that could help them against the undead army. He went out and surprisingly the undead didn't bother him. He was shocked to see that the badly made disguise was working and he just went in as if he wasn't there.

When he finally reached the spot he could not be any more happier. "Finally I made it. Boy that was easy. Easiest quest ever" he was about to put the teleportation stone down but stopped as he thought of something. "Wait a minute. That was TOO easy. Usually when something easy happens and I finish my quest, something bad happens like a giant monster suddenly appearing or a boss just comes in and knock me clean out or worse confronting the ultimate evil on world domination! Wait a minute! There is ALWAYS a plot no! Not this time!" he threw the stone to a bush. "Hah! I'm a genius. That was the smartest thing I have ever..." he couldn't continue however as he heard some noises from the other side.

He spotted one paladin that was confronting something he had never seen before, but it was a frightening creature. It was a very tall monster that was covered with skulls. It was clearly undead but this was a different kind of undead. It was very intimidating and did not even seem bothered by the presence of the paladin. "Oh you have got to be kidding me"

"So you are the leader of this undead army. I shall smite you with the power of light and return you to the darkness you spawned from DoomKnight" The paladin yelled out but all it did was make the monster laugh. "Doom knight? HAHAHAHAHA! Foolish Paladin eyes have yet to see my kind" the creature raised its sword. The paladin then decided to attack. "My eyes see you fall from the power of light. may the light have mercy on thy" He sent a powerful light magical beam on the creature.

The creature simply raised his hand and the light hit it directly but the attack was easily deflected by the monster. "What?!" The paladin was shocked. "Impossible" James muttered as he looked on. "You're light magic can not hurt me Paladin". "It did not even scratch you. I sense you are undead. How is that you are not defeated by light?" He asked as he looked at the monster. "My master is tired of Paladins interference here, that is why I hunt you down" the Paladin looked scared at that. "Hunt Paladins? What are you?" He asked as the monster laughed. "I am Vordred the Paladin Slayer!" The creature declared.
