*4 months later still unfinished*
I'm SO sorry about the wait guys, but here's the last chapter ;~;
Enjoy!
Jojo's P.O.V.
"Who's that?" I asked the others.
Jay was looking at that girl in red like... like he was in love with her or something. Suddenly, he broke into a sprint and ran for her, yelling "NYYYYYYAAAAAAA!" Then he picked her up and spun her in circles.
Cole, Lloyd, and Zane walked after him, shaking their heads and smiling. The rest of us followed, unsure what else to do.
"How did you find us?" Zane asked.
"I saw you guys on the news, and then I kinda just followed you from there," she said, shrugging. "Oh, I have these for you." She pulled out some weapons that match the ninja's golden weapons and passed them out. "Who are these guys?"
We all introduced ourselves, then I said, "Ok, now that we all know each other, can we go save my dad now?"
Back at the house with Nya added into our group, Ashley picked the lock, and we snuck down the basement steps. There, both the Skeleton Army and the Serpentine had gathered. Garmadon, the Serpentine Generals, and my father were no where in sight.
As if reading my mind, Brian said, "They must be in that room over there." He pointed to a doorway in the corner of the room.
"Ok guys," I said. "Let's do this." And then we attacked.
We defeated the armies with ease. I went to the doorway and found the Generals, and Garmadon trying to escape through the window.
"Oh, HELL no..." I muttered. The team worked to together to hold down Garmadon and the Serpentine. "Where's my father?" I asked calmly.
"HE wasss ssmart enough to essscape when you got here..." Skales said under his breath.
I breathed a sigh of relief. "Thank goodness he's ok."
"Doesss sshe know?" Acidicus whispered to Fangtom.
"Do I know WHAT?"
He smiled his evil smile. "About your father, of courssse. He'sss not who you think he isss..."
The other snakes chuckled and nodded, and Garmadon continued his thought process. "Dr. Allen is one of us. He's evil. In fact, HE'S the reason for these snakes injecting their powers into you and your friends... HE'S the one who formed the chemicals that run through your veins."
I stood there in shock. But I knew it couldn't be true. I mean, he wasn't exactly the BEST dad but... my own father? Evil? I was about to say something when my dad came in through the window. "It's true, Josephine, don't try to ignore it."
The Serpentine Kids, the Ninja, Nya and I all stared at him in shock, waiting for him to explain. But instead, he stabbed Garmadon with yet another needle, this time containing a crystal clear liquid. He groaned a little, then passed out.
"WHAT DID YOU DO TO MY FATHER?!" Lloyd shouted. He let go of Skalidor to rush to his father's side, and the Constrictai attacked the others. Aaron and Cole tried to hold him down, releasing their holds on the other snakes, and suddenly another fight had broke out. Then my own father pulled out more syringes, and injected something into the Serpentine. They also passed out.
Everyone remained tense as they turned to look at my dad. "What did you do to them?" Jay asked, nudging the snakes with his foot, oblivious to tension in the room.
He sighed. "I guess I should explain. Leave them alone, they'll wake up eventually. And Lloyd, you're father will be alright - better than alright. Just, everyone sit down and I'll explain...
"As you may already know, I am a chemist. Years ago, when working on a new vaccine for the flu that works instantly, I encountered Lord Garmadon. He... asked me for a favor. I knew how evil he truly was, and what could happen to me, and though I was frightened, I had to help him. His cause was... good. He wanted me to invent a serum that would kill the destroy in his veins, and return him back to himself before being bitten by the Great Devourer.
"I worked at it for a while, using a small amount of his blood to create the vaccine. But while working, I dropped a beaker containing his blood and cut my arm. I tried cleaning the wound to get it out of my system, but it was too late.
"Over the years, I continued trying to make the vaccine, not only for Garmadon - but for myself. Through this time, the Devourer's venom grew stronger - just as it did to Lord Garmadon - and... I went mad for a while. I abandoned my work, and teamed up with the Serpentine and Garmadon. And that's when I created the powers that you all now have." He glanced at Brian, Rebecca, Ashley, Aaron, and I slowly. "But after a while, I noticed how even Lord Garmadon was able to fight the venom at times and still care for his son AND his friends.
"That's when I began to fight it. It was a tough battle, but I managed to return to the project of creating an antidote. I had just finished it yesterday, and I had to leave it be for 24 hours. When you all showed up today, I was trying to get the antidote out of my van to test it on myself, and... It worked. I don't feel any evil inside me anymore. After that I came back inside and, well, you know the rest."
We all sat there in silence, absorbing the information. Then I got up and threw my arms around my dad. Tears rolling down my cheeks, I said, "So for all these years... You really DID have a reason..."
"Yes," he whispered. "I'm sorry for all the pain I put you through. I love you, sweetie."
"I love you too, Dad."
"Well, that's great and all, but is MY father supposed to still be unconscious?" Lloyd asked, interrupting our little moment.
"Yes, it's only normal. Considering there was a much larger amount of venom inside him, the antidote may take longer to overcome it. He will be ok, though. He should awaken soon."
"What about the Serpentine?" Kai asked.
"Them... well, let's just say they'll be confused for a couple days... the serum may not have the same affect on snakes, but they should be a little calmer and less evil than before. Also, they may be a tad bit brain damaged."
"Like they weren't already..." Cole muttered, causing us all to giggle.
"How are we supposed to proceed with our lives now?" Zane asked the group. The room went deathly silent.
Jay was the first to speak. "I guess we... go back to the Bounty, and... continue on with out lives as usual." Cole and Rebecca cringed really hard, and Ashley snapped her head longingly at Zane. Although he's made it clear that he has no feelings for her, Ashley still had a HUGE crush on him.
"I guess you're right, Jay," Kai responded, the other ninja and Nya nodding their heads.
"We'd better get going, guys. It's getting dark out," Nya suggested, but it was clear no one wanted to leave. After another long pause, all of us rose at once.
I ran up and hugged my cousin, and the others also said their good byes. Kai pulled away and looked at me. "Don't worry, I'm sure we'll meet again. After all, we ARE family." I nodded, choking back tears. After all this time, after FINALLY reuniting with a part of my family, I have to lose him again. And I STILL never got to know Nya at all.
Eventually, the five guys and Nya went back to their homes, and the Serpentine Kids and I went back to ours, where I went to my room to cry myself to sleep.
I'm going to miss those ninja.
**The Next Day...
Brian, Rebecca, Aaron, Ashley, and I sat at our usual lunch table today in silence - Aaron and I on one side, Ashley, Brian and Rebecca on the other. We all had some type of connection with the ninja while they were here at school, no matter how brief the connection was.
After a while of silence, Rebecca's head snapped up with a huge smile on her face. Aaron and I gave her a look, but suddenly, Ashley jumped up in excitement. "OMG ZANE BABY YOU CAME BACK!" she cried running around the table to tackle him in a hug. The other four of us laughed at her while getting up to greet the rest of the ninja.
"What brought you guys back?" Brian asked.
"We decided to finish out the year instead of dropping out," Kai said. "And we decided to bring Nya with us this time." I smiled at both of my cousins, and we all sat down at the table together.
Hey, look at that. We're not lonely anymore.
Happy ending woo~
